In 1692, the Massachusetts Bay Colony executed fourteen women, five men, and two dogs for witchcraft. The sorcery materialized in January. The first hanging took place in June, the last in September; a stark, stunned silence followed. Although we will never know the exact number of those formally charged with having “wickedly, maliciously, and feloniously” engaged in sorcery, somewhere between a hundred and forty-four and a hundred and eighty-five witches and wizards were named in twenty-five villages and towns. The youngest was five; the eldest nearly eighty. Husbands implicated wives; nephews their aunts; daughters their mothers; siblings each other.
And much more... learn the advent of BURN BOOK which Inspired 'Mean Girls'. And how witchcraft is the reason for women couture not having pockets for decades ultimately suffering post effects of Salem Witch Trials.

When we were introduced to Freddy Krueger in 1984, the first graphic and gravity-defying death scene had us hooked. We immediately knew that The Springwood Slasher was what nightmares are made of. What many of us didn’t realize, though, is that a terrifying true story actually inspired A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Krueger was never really marketed as being based on a true story. Our pal Wes Craven probably didn’t want to do that much damage to our psyches. The documented events that led to Krueger’s inception, however, are almost as terrifying as what we witnessed in Springwood. In the end, it’s the unknowns that are most unsettling.

This isn’t for the faint-hearted. Cults across America have committed some of the most bizarre ritual murders you’ll ever hear of. Brutal and grisly, these killings will turn your stomach and make you wonder what humans are really capable of. These cults have either convinced people or taken people to be part of their sometimes occultish, sometimes otherworldly plans, so you might want to think twice next time when you want to sign up for a suspicious seeming group activity.

The mystery surrounding the Zodiac case also continues to fascinate the public and has inspired more than its fair share of theories regarding the killer’s identity.
Over the years, more than 2,500 suspects were considered, ranging as far afield as Unabomber Ted Kaczynski. A search warrant was executed for one prime suspect, Arthur Leigh Allen, but no definitive evidence was discovered. In addition, Allen's fingerprints did not match prints from Stine's taxi, and in 2002, DNA pulled from a Zodiac-sent stamp did not match Allen's. However, the DNA sample was small and the results somewhat inconclusive — plus Allen often had other people lick stamps for him.
Today's more advanced DNA techniques offer the tantalizing possibility of a definitive answer regarding who the Zodiac is, or was. But police in the 1960s and '70s had no idea that DNA analysis would arrive on the scene. Therefore some evidence was mishandled, or the chain of custody was broken. And pieces of evidence remain spread across various law enforcement agencies. In short, few things are available to analyze.

Maura Murray disappeared the evening of February 9, 2004, after crashing her car on Route 112 in Haverhill, New Hampshire. A nursing student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst who was loved by family members, Murray left campus early that afternoon after packing her car and emailing her professors and work supervisor that she was taking a week off due to a family emergency. No family emergency existed.
In 2011 videos began appearing from a Youtube user named 112dirtbag (referencing the location where Maura disappeared, as well as her father calling those involved in her life at the time of her disappearance as 'dirtbags'.) On the 8th anniversary.
The most commonly-accepted theory is that 112dirtbag was responsible for Maura's disappearance, having kidnapped and killed (and possibly raped) her !!??
The videos shortly disappeared from the uploader's page, along with the entire YouTube channel being terminated, but some have been archived:

Wayfair has recently (2020) come under scrutiny being accused of trafficking children, with a series of screenshots being shown on twitter, where a series of Wayfair furniture items appeared highly overpriced and were named the same names as children who had gone missing, started trending a few days ago. Since them, Wayfair has published a statement and taken the items down but didn't really address the problem at hand (note they said the claims had no truth about them), and it seems highly odd that these very expensive items also were named the same names as young women and girls who had gone missing. Even if this has no truth to it, I believe it is important to signal to boost these sorts of things, so that they may be fully investigated properly.
