Listen as we discuss Elissa's personal journey into grief, her brokenness, and the drive to learn as much about her deceased loved ones. Her subsequent passion and involvement in the Chevra Kadisha and her support of those who are grieving are truly inspiring.
Elissa started and actively manages the only international community of practice for women engaged with traditional Chevra Kadisha (Burial Society). The community mission is to share experiences, give encouragement, network, learn together and help to develop and support each other. She is responsible for building the community and providing on-going professional development.
The knowledge she has acquired motivated her to write a personal memoir of loss and grief weaving in Jewish teachings about life, death and afterlife. Her book, “From One Life to the Next Life: The Sacred Passage After Death,” was published by Mosaica Press.

In addition, Elissa is the coordinator for all of Core’s Communities of Practice (www.CoreTorah.org). These communities offer training, resources and support for those who want to strengthen their communities on an intentional and ongoing basis. In her role, Elissa helps each of these many international communities grow and thrive.
Locally, Elissa Founder and Director of Core Connects RI, a non-profit organization that aims to deepen women’s connections to one another, to Jewish wisdom and Jewish values, to empower each other to find greater meaning, purpose and possibility in life and to cultivate unity without uniformity. As director she is passionate about providing others with opportunities to grow and become. She runs programming both online and in person.
Elissa works tirelessly to bring Jews together and celebrates the commonalities rather than the differences. Through all these experiences Elissa mentors and encourages others on their journeys and even finds time to teach a weekly Parsha class. -
Asher Furst has been featured in national media, including Yahoo Finance, MSN Money, and AOL.com. Asher's expertise is behavioral finance, and he has spoken on this topic at various venues, including Johns Hopkins University. Asher wrote a weekly finance column for The Voice of Lakewood and all of his content is available at AsherFurst.com.
Listen as he makes some good points about money, and I counter with some good points about his points. Its possible for there to be more than one idea or strategy towards financial budgeting and management. Although, I wouldn't necessarily encourage you to listen to my advice as I don't have savings, stocks, bonds, and other adult like financial planning thingies. Juxtapose that to Asher clearly better read and who aspires to build his career in financial management and planning. I wish him Hatlacha in all his future endeavors. -

Listen as Raffi Bilek, author and social worker, discuss fighting fair with our partners and the fundamentals of keeping the peace. Raffi Bilek has been working with couples across the globe for over a decade. He has helped hundreds of couples improve their communication, boost their connection, recover from hurts and betrayals, and, in many cases, save their marriages.
Before that, Raffi earned a degree in computer science from Brown University, but never much enjoyed it because the computers wouldn’t laugh at his humor. Besides being a couples counselor and a computer programmer, Raffi is a dad to four girls, a former swing dancer, an Orthodox Jewish rabbi, and a nationally ranked Scrabble player.
Raffi speaks English, Hebrew, French, and Spanish, has seen the fjords (they really are that good), and enjoys playing word games and telling good (and bad) jokes. He deeply loves his wife, but frankly wishes she got more of his jokes. -
