Democratic governors were in control of Montana for 16 years prior to Greg Gianforte winning in 2020. Gianforte is seeking another four years for the Republicans, but Democrats are pushing for change.Ryan Busse is running for the position with his Lt. Governor, Raph Graybill. Speaking in Glendive this week, Graybill accused Gianforte of raising property taxes and creating hardships for low-income families.“Greg Gianforte raises property taxes on Montana homeowners by as much as 111 percent. The best advertising for the Busse-Graybill campaign that’s ever occurred is the government sending out tax bills to folks,” said Graybill.Related article: https://www.kfyrtv.com/2024/10/26/montanas-lieutenant-governor-candidate-attacks-gianforte-over-property-taxes/INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/raphgraybillWEBSITE: https://busseformontana.com

President Vladimir Putin warned the West on Wednesday that Russia could use nuclear weapons if it was struck with conventional missiles, and that Moscow would consider any assault on it supported by a nuclear power to be a joint attack. The decision to change Russia's official nuclear doctrine is the Kremlin's answer to deliberations in the United States and Britain about whether or not to give Ukraine permission to fire conventional Western missiles into Russia.Putin, opening a meeting of Russia's Security Council, said that the changes were in response to a swiftly changing global landscape which had thrown up new threats and risks for Russia.Related article: https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/putin-says-russia-reserves-right-use-nuclear-weapons-if-attacked-2024-09-25/

French President Emmanuel Macron says France is no longer sending arms to Israel and called on other nations to halt deliveries of weapons.President Emmanuel Macron: “However, we also try to be consistent. And when we call for ceasefires — this is the case for Gaza, this was also the case for Lebanon last week — well, we try not to call for a ceasefire while continuing to deliver weapons of war. And I think it’s just consistency.”Egypt welcomed the call by French President Emmanuel Macron to stop arms exports to Israel against the backdrop of the serious violations of international law and international humanitarian law committed by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, which resulted in tens of thousands of civilian casualties and injuries, most of them women and children.Related article: https://www.democracynow.org/2024/10/7/headlines/president_macron_halts_french_weapons_exports_to_israel

Vice President Kamala Harris told the co-hosts of "The View" on Tuesday that she couldn't think of anything significant she would have done differently from President Biden in the last four years. "We're obviously two different people," Harris said, answering a question from co-host Sunny Hostin about what the biggest "specific" difference would be between a potential Harris presidency and a Biden presidency. "One of the issues I'm focused on is what we do with home healthcare." The vice president scheduled multiple interviews for Tuesday, including "The View," Stephen Colbert and radio host Howard Stern. It's Harris' first appearance on the liberal ABC News show since becoming the Democratic nominee.Related article: https://www.foxnews.com/media/kamala-harris-tells-the-view-she-cant-think-anything-she-would-have-done-differently-from-biden

Nearly 20 performers in the latter camp are part of a new digital ad campaign announced today called Hands Off My Porn. The $100,000 campaign will appear on adult content websites in swing states — Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona, and Nevada — and warn viewers about the potential outcomes of Project 2025, according to a press release sent to Mashable. Pornhub is currently blocked in North Carolina due to age-verification laws, which require proof of age to view sites that primarily host adult content. The announcement also stated that the ads will soon appear in more states, too.The ads will link to the Hands Off My Porn site, where viewers can watch safe-for-work video testimonials from performers like Siri Dahl about the dangers of Project 2025. The site also provides links to register to vote and donate to the political action committee Artists United for Change.Related article: https://mashable.com/article/adult-creators-launch-hands-off-my-campaign-against-project-2025

Donald Trump could be the next President of the United States. He faces off with Kamala Harris in the 2024 Presidential Election. We discuss what a 2nd Trump term would look like & whether or not people should be worried. The former president’s pledges to pursue political revenge in a second term have escalated and have been met by supporters with tacit acceptance or outright encouragement.Trump’s first term was defined in large part by the political guardrails he crashed into, the institutional norms he breached and the veteran lawmakers and advisers he lashed out against. Each now stands diminished, reshaped to his advantage – or eliminated entirely.Trump and his allies have every intention of taking advantage of this new reality should he win a second termRelated article: https://www.cnn.com/2024/06/23/politics/second-trump-administration-agenda/index.html

In the aftermath of Donald Trump’s disastrous performance in his first—and perhaps only—debate against Kamala Harris, Republicans kept bemoaning their candidate’s lack of discipline. Instead of talking about inflation or immigration or, for that matter, any basic needs or concerns of ordinary Americans, Trump spent 90 minutes raving about crowd sizes and lying about immigrants eating dogs and cats. “He [is] right on policy but can’t keep to a message,” one House Republican told The Hill. “Many are disappointed he couldn’t stay focused or land a punch.”Staying on message, in other words, isn’t Donald Trump’s deal. But it is JD Vance’s. Vance is already being praised in some circles—particularly on cable news—for his discipline and cordiality. We will hear, again and again, about how this was the performance Trump should have given but didn’t.Related article: https://www.yahoo.com/news/j-d-vance-future-republican-035513351.htmlFollow Natalie Bencivenga:TIK TOK: https://www.tiktok.com/@nataliebencivenga INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/nataliebencivenga/

Iran has launched an unprecedented attack against Israel, firing a barrage of missiles at the country in the latest escalation amid weeks of soaring violence and tensions in the region.Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Tuesday that it fired missiles at Israel in response to deadly Israeli attacks against people in Gaza and Lebanon, as well as the assassinations of top IRGC, Hamas and Hezbollah leaders.Israel and its top ally, the United States, said their respective militaries worked together to shoot down most of the nearly 200 projectiles that were fired by Iran. The Israeli army said only a “few” hits were recorded in central and southern parts of the country while two people were injured from falling shrapnel in the Tel Aviv area, according to Israel’s emergency service.Related article: https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/10/1/irans-missile-attack-against-israel-what-we-know-and-what-comes-next

The Iranian ballistic missile attack against Israel on Tuesday was larger, more complex and involved more advanced weapons than the strikes in April, experts say, putting greater stress on missile defences and allowing more warheads to get through.Although debris from the more than 180 missiles is still being collected and analysed, experts say the latest attacks appear to have used Iran's Fattah-1 and Kheybarshekan missiles, both of which have a reported range of about 1,400 kilometres (870 miles).Iranian state media cited the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) as saying the missiles hit Nevatim, Hatzerim and Tel Nof airbases, as well as Israeli tanks in Netzarim - a reference to an Israeli military corridor in central Gaza - and gas installations in the southern city of Ashkelon.Related article: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c70w1j0l488o

The Supreme Court on Friday rejected a bid to put Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein on the Nevada general election ballot, leaving in place a lower court decision that excluded the party from the vote. The Supreme Court denied a request from the Nevada Green Party to toss out a lower court injunction that blocked its candidates from appearing on the general election ballot. There were no noted dissents. The dispute involving the Nevada Green Party was brought by the Nevada State Democratic Party, which sued in June to challenge the Green Party's access to the ballot. Nevada Democrats claimed the Green Party, a minor political party in the state, used the wrong form to gather signatures to get on the ballot, rendering them invalid.
The Green Party had been inadvertently emailed the incorrect form by the Nevada Secretary of State's Office after its original petition contained a technical error. Related article: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/supreme-court-jill-stein-nevada-ballot/

Israel’s military chief told troops on Wednesday that its airstrikes in Lebanon were aiming to destroy Hezbollah’s infrastructure and to pave the way for a possible ground incursion by Israeli forces. The goal of the incursion is to allow the tens of thousands of Israelis who have been displaced by cross-border fire in the north of the country to return to their homes, Halevi said.“To achieve that, we are preparing the process of a maneuver,” he said. “It means your military boots, your maneuvering boots, will enter enemy territory, enter villages that Hezbollah has prepared as large military outposts.”Related article: https://www.cnn.com/2024/09/25/middleeast/israel-lebanon-hezbollah-ground-invasion-intl/index.html

Green Party candidate Jill Stein is facing backlash after a video went viral in which she refused to call Russian President Vladimir Putin a war criminal. In an interview released by Zeteo on Monday, host Mehdi Hasan grilled Stein on Russia's invasion of Ukraine, in which tens of thousands of Ukrainians have died, before alleging that she has not called out the Russian president for attacks on civilians."We looked at your social media and you haven't done that many posts specifically calling out Russian attacks on civilian areas," Hasan said. With a recorded vote of 124 nations in favour, 14 against, and 43 abstentions, the resolution calls for Israel to comply with international law and withdraw its military forces, immediately cease all new settlement activity, evacuate all settlers from occupied land, and dismantle parts of the separation wall it constructed inside the occupied West Bank. The General Assembly further demanded that Israel return land and other “immovable property”, as well as all assets seized since the occupation began in 1967, and all cultural property and assets taken from Palestinians and Palestinian institutions. The resolution also demands Israel allow all Palestinians displaced during the occupation to return to their place of origin and make reparation for the damage caused by its occupation.Related article: https://news.un.org/en/story/2024/09/1154496
