  • Hey Friend,

This week's episode I'm sharing a podcast update. We’re going to be on a short hiatus after today for a little while. It’s my birthday in a few days and normally around this time I do a lot of life reflection and reevaluate many areas of my life. And when I did that, I knew that I couldn’t keep going with the show as it is right now. It has become unsustainable in its current format. And if you know me, that’s a huge filter for my life. Is this sustainable? If not, how can I make it sustainable? What’s possible? How can this be better? So in order to make the show more sustainable for the long term we’re hitting pause. This isn’t the end. Just a short hiatus. We’ll be back. I promise.

Listen in as I share about:

Why I’m taking this hiatus right now mid-season

    What’s happening behind the scenes.

What’s the plan for the show moving forward to make it more sustainable.

Inviting you all to maybe hit pause on something in your life to retool it and make things better. More sustainable for you.

  • Hey Friend,

In this week's episode, I sit down with Natalie Guzman, who shares her extraordinary journey of being voluntarily placed into foster care by her mother and how she overcame the trauma and abandonment to build a successful life. Natalie recounts her life's ups and downs, including her adjustment to a drastic change in living conditions following her parents' divorce, her mother's decision to place her in foster care, and her efforts to maintain normalcy during her tumultuous teenage years.

Despite the challenges, Natalie becomes emancipated at 17, works hard to make ends meet, and eventually builds multiple successful businesses. She also navigates rebuilding her relationship with her mother and finding love and a sense of family with her husband and children in Florida. Throughout her story, Natalie highlights the importance of setting boundaries, asking for help, and the resilience in facing life's adversities. This episode provides a powerful testimony on healing, growth, and the strength found in adversity.

Natalie Guzman became a virtual assistant in 2015 after her job told her she had two days to give birth, and then she would have to return to work. She immediately started her virtual assistant business to make money from home, on her terms. When she decided to turn her side hustle into an agency.

Now Natalie owns multiple businesses including a marketing agency and business consulting firm as well as an all in one software for business to build websites, emails, automations and more while raising her family in southwest Florida.

  • Hey Friend,

In this week’s episode, Liz Deacle joins me to share the candid story of her family's journey traveling through 22 countries, sharing how they planned the adventure, managed it on a budget, and the impact it had on their lives.

Liz shares how her family used house sitting and couch surfing to afford the year-long adventure, and how the experience inspired her children's respective paths. She also discusses how they adapted upon their return to their native New Zealand, and looking for alternative ways of earning an income, eventually leading to the creation of an online business and their own successful travel blog and book.

Liz is a best selling author, a podcaster, YouTuber and a storyteller. A natural-born optimist, lover of wine, and non-lover of hormones, Liz is British, she is married to Brian, and together they have two kids. In 2009, when their children were 8 and 5, Liz and her husband left England and took their family to start a new life in New Zealand. Once there, Liz embarked on something she had dreamed of doing her whole life (but had never been brave/financially comfortable/crazy enough to do). Homeschooling. In the ten years that followed the family built their own home under a dormant volcano on the North Island of New Zealand and enjoyed years of freedom and adventure together. In 2018, Liz and her husband put into place another life long dream. In this week’s episode, award-winning health expert and national best seller, Nicole Kerr joins me on the podcast to talk about surviving a near-death experience and immense trauma. She is the author of You Are Deathless: A Near-Death Experience Taught Me How to Fully Live and Not Fear Death. She is also the co-author of Eating the Rainbow: Lifelong Nutritional Wellness—Without Lies, Hype, or Calculus.

  • Hey Friends,

Welcome to Season 6, and the start of a brand new year!

I’m kicking off season six with an episode that focuses on my own journey to embracing a child-free life. As you may remember from past episodes, the hubs and I made the decision to let go of trying for kids after dealing with infertility and a transition phase.

I share about how 2023 was the first full year I wholeheartedly embraced and found joy in being child-free. I shed light on the changes I made throughout the year, from my home to my conversations, social media habits and overall business model.

Lastly, I give you insight into future plans which include travel, passion projects and strengthening friendships with other child-free women.

Listen in as we talk about:

    Embracing being childless to childfree

Acknowledging how the narrative when you’re older is geared towards moms and parents

What inspired this episode and for me to dive into this topic

    DINK Lifestyle and the benefits.

Unfollowing social accounts that were more mom or parenting focused, and focusing on ones that were more to do with being childfree

The content we consume really does impact our subconscious

Rich Auntie Energy is what I want for my life.

Having multiple spaces in my home to support my passions

Getting excited about child-free plans and travel

Not having to split caregiving energy when things are tough

The changes I’ve made in my business

Steps to take if you’re aligned with this message too

  • Hey Friends,

In this last episode of the season, I sit down with Tara Rhodes, a certified leadership coach, to talk all about the concept of ambition.

Tara shares her story of how her ambition has impacted both her personal and professional relationships and the self-reflection process she underwent to shift her focus from being overly ambitious and task-oriented to being driven and values-driven.

We discuss the pros and cons of both being task-oriented and relationship-oriented, the credibility of personality tests, the perception of the word 'ambition', the significance of feedback and communication in personal growth, and how Tara's coaching journey has impacted her perception of ambition.

As an award-winning trainer and facilitator and a certified leadership coach, Tara Rhodes helps emerging leaders define a vision for their leadership so that the people they influence can do their best work. She has been lucky to work with entry level to executive level employees at various company stages, and has come to understand that purpose driven companies can only be successful when their people are confident to do the work required.

Ultimately she is dedicated to helping people gain clarity on the life they want to live, and supporting them develop healthy habits to make that happen. A wife, and mom to two lively boys, she actively practices what she preaches to maintain a healthy balance and presence in her day-to-day life.

  • Hey Friends,

In this episode, we emphasize the importance of vulnerability, as Katherine shares an impactful event wherein she suffered a seizure while abroad in Portugal, erasing her prepared speech to be delivered at a tech conference.

Despite the setback, Katherine still went on stage, shared her experience with the audience, and gave her speech - an act of vulnerability that was well received. As you’ll hear in our conversation, this event sparked a newfound approach to her personal and business interactions. Since then, she uses vulnerability and genuine curiosity as tools to foster psychologically safe spaces and deeper connections.

From being the little girl who sold shares in her "company" and played HR (even firing her own mother!) to the traveling entrepreneur and speaker that she is now, Katherine McCord has had quite a journey. Katherine has multiple physical and neuro diversities, ranging from MCAS and seizures to Bipolar and OCD, and says, “I am successful WITH my diagnosis, not in spite of them”.

Born in Dallas, Texas she began rescuing animals early on and as an adult became a proud foster mama, even for wolves and exotic animals. She currently lives in Florida and runs a company called Titan Management, which she founded in 2014 with the purpose of shaking up HR and recruiting.

She also hosts two shows, Career Launch Live and Super Mania Show, and is the COO and Board Member of the international neurodiversity and nonlinear group, The Octopus Movement.

Highlighting the power of being vulnerable and asking questions, Katherine encourages others to embrace this approach for exponential personal and professional growth.

Listen in as we talk about:

What’s important to know about Katherine

Her story of experiencing a seizure while traveling

What this experience taught her about being vulnerable

Learning how to handle peoples’ questions

    Identifying opportunities for expansion

Being prepared to let people go in your life
