I Can Cope Method with Charlotte and Jonty. "We started I Can Cope Method podcast to help people cope with overthinking, stress and anxiety, and āI can copeā moments."
Relaxed talk about running a pub, coping with stress, anxiety, depression and bipolar sharing hypnotherapy and NLP tools to help cope. Please follow and share. www.icancope.co.uk Turn āIām Stressedā into āI Can Copeā: New YouTubePodcast Tackles Stress, Anxiety and Overthinking with Real Stories, Bringing Hope, Laughter and Practical Tips for BetterMental Wellbeing
I Can Cope Method launches podcast to help people reframe stress and anxiety into āI can copeā moments. Created and hosted by Jonty Newbery, landlord of The Duke ofYork pub and clinical hypnotherapist Charlotte Phillips, the series offers real-life conversations, techniques and tools for anyone feeling overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, overthinking or low mood.
āWe started I Can Cope Method podcast to help people cope with overthinking, stress and anxiety, and āI can copeā moments.ā
From āIām stressedā to āI can copeā
The idea for the podcast grew from text exchanges betweenCharlotte and Jonty, where Jonty regularly described feeling stressed whilemanaging the pressures of pub life, from long hours to constant people demands, andcoping with stress, anxiety, depression and bipolar.
Jonty was using theword āstressedā in a lot in his language and wanted to feel calmer. Charlotte hadbeen talking to him about the benefits of hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguist Programing(NLP). Charlotteencouraged him to experiment with reframing āIām stressedā bysending him this text message: āHave you thought about how often you getstressed in one day? How about changing how you reference stress tosomething like ā āI can handle thisā. Or āI handled a situation and Iām fineā.Reframing the words can help your mindset and your health.ā
The next day Charlottereceived a reply with the words āI had a lot of I can cope todayā. Jonty hadtaken onboard the reframe and replace āIām stressedā with āI can copeā. After 3weeks of Jonty using āI can copeā he had totally replaced any usual referenceto stress in his everyday language to āI can copeā.
Jonty said that hefelt calmer using āI can copeā and was going to continue using it. Jonty had shifted his focus fromoverwhelm to capability and which became the foundation of the I Can Cope Methodmessage that small language changes can restore a sense of control.
He was more aware ofthe situations that triggered the stress or the āI can copeā situations. Fromthis āI Can Cope - The ICC Methodā was developed and the podcast was created.
A publandlordās mental health story
Coāhost Jonty Newbery, landlord of TheDuke of York Pub in Salisbury, lives with bipolar depression and an anxietydisorder, and has experienced severe overthinking and worry since his latetwenties.
Through the I Can Cope Method conversations, he shares open, practical storiesof managing mental health while running a busy pub, offering hope to others insimilar situations who may feel alone with their struggles.Hypnotherapy,NLP and reframing language
Coācreator Charlotte Phillips is aclinical hypnotherapist and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) practitioner andfounder of What Is Your Story Hypnotherapy, a Salisbury-based practice focusedon helping people manage stress, anxiety, fears and change the unhelpfulstories they tell themselves.
On the podcast she explains how reframing everyday language from āIām stressedāto āI can copeā helps people recognise they have coped before and can do soagain, turning negative thought loops into more empowering inner dialogue. Ithelps people understand they are in control of their thoughts and their emotions.Further information, links to episodes and details of Charlotteās hypnotherapywork can be found at www.icancope.co.uk, where visitors can exploreresources designed to support everyday coping with stress and anxiety.
