Deborah Jane Burke is a dynamic filmmaker, writer, hip-hop recording artist, and producer. As the daughter of Guyanese immigrants who grew up as one of the only Black families in a predominantly white Orange County suburb, Deborah Jane found refuge in writing and hip-hop, igniting her passion for social justice and storytelling through music. Her journey led her to Stanford University, where she penned an award-winning hip-hop musical inspired by a childhood nightmare of being trapped in slavery. The play was later developed into a short film and is now in the process of becoming a feature-length film about racial reconciliation called, Strange Fruit: The Hip-hopera.
Deborah Jane enjoys a successful Hollywood career, and has contributed to major networks such as FOX, TBS, BET, and PBS. Independently, she founded the House of Deborah Jane Studios with a mission to disrupt the status quo, amplify multi-cultural voices, and affect spiritual and social change through dynamic TV, film, theater, and music, with a particular emphasis on musicals. She is a proud alumna of the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts where she holds her MFA in screenwriting.

ABOUT NANCY BIRTWHISTLE AND THE BIG BAKEOVER, FRIDAYS AT 8PM ON THE CW
Bakery expert, business professional and author Nancy Birtwhistle has been baking for her whole life. Starting out alongside her grandmother, she honed her craft over the years eventually becoming the Season 5 winner ofThe Great British Bake Off. Now, Nancy is on a mission traveling across America to save struggling bakeries. With the help of her master carpenter, Erik Curtis, she reimagines and revamps recipes, renovates storefronts and puts passionate pastry makers on a path to success. From Velvet Hammer Media, THE BIG BAKEOVER is executive produced by Rebecca Quinn, Jennifer O'Connell and Tim Warren.
NANCY BIRTWHISTLE BIO
There's more to Great British Bake Off 2014 winner Nancy Birtwhistle than meets the eye. Birtwhistle is a self-taught home baker who only took up baking seriously when she retired from her full-time job as a practice manager for a GP's surgery. And, like everything she turns her hand to, she became rather good at it.
Full of energy and brimming with ideas, Birtwhistle's is a force of nature and whether it's growing her own fruit and vegetables to use in her recipes, rearing poultry (including the Christmas turkey), training her dog (who made it to Crufts) or getting a degree at age 40, she doesn't do things by halves.
Born and brought up in Hull and the surrounding areas, Birtwhistle's first memories of baking are Christmas baking with her grandmother. "I now realize that she did indeed have a significant part to play in my love of baking. She was a true home baker and never used a recipe book."
Through devouring books, taking tips and inspiration from people she meets and lots and lots of trial and error,Birtwhistle has acquired an incredible breadth of baking knowledge. She loves the creativity of baking and the simple rewards of watching others enjoy something she's baked. Now a grandmother herself, Birtwhistle is determined to pass on her skills and knowledge to the next generation and show people that with a little bit of time, a lot of patience and a few simple ingredients, you really can make a perfect showstopper.
Birtwhistle is a natural teacher and can regularly be seen giving demonstrations at large-scale food events. She has appeared at The Good Food Show, The Cake and Bake Show and countless regional food festivals. She is also an accomplished speaker who is comfortable telling her story to many audiences as diverse as the Women's Institute to a room of female banking staff.

Aiden Gabor was still a teenager when Department of Justice agents approached him with an ultimatum: spend his life in prison for racketeering, embezzlement, extortion, and conspiracy to commit murder, or become an undercover agent. Conflicting Loyalties is a sharp, honest memoir in three parts: the bloody life of a mob soldier from outside la famiglia; the death-defying, paranoid existence of an informant bringing down corrupt politicians and police departments from the inside; and unexpectedly finding peace late in life through the Baha’i faith while coping with an ALS diagnosis. Conflicting Loyalties is a visceral tale of a man who gambles with his own life in order to save it, dodging his fate while searching for an identity, a father, and a family. It is for readers of Gianni Russo’s Hollywood Godfather, Joe Pistone’s classic Donnie Brasco, and anyone interested in mob life, police and political corruption, and finding peace after a life of violence
