Kitty Tait makes amazing bread.
However this wasn't always the case...
Kitty dropped out of school due to severe depression, her parents tried lots of different things to help her but it was watching her Dad make a loaf of bread that sparked her interest in baking and gave her a reason to get up in the morning.
Kitty, who was just 15 when we recorded this episode, talks about the therapeutic effects of baking and how she set up The Orange Bakery.
She's the youngest guest on the podcast so far but I'm sure you'll agree her story is pretty inspiring!

Shailina Parti has worked in the fashion industry for more than 30 years, working at top British brands such as Jaeger and Jigsaw. She's also a mum of twins.
Here she talks about balancing her career with bringing up her children, what life is like now they've left home for university and how she has been (successfully!) dealing with the menopause.
She also describes her love of dressing people in clothes that give them confidence.
This episode was recorded before the Coronavirus pandemic, but since then Shailina's life has changed. Sadly her father died from Covid-19 and due to the lock-down restrictions her family, like so many others, were unable to mark his death in the usual way.
Shailina has recorded her thoughts about her father’s death and her hopes for the future which you can hear at the end of the episode.

Here Verity explains the therapeutic process of writing it all down and has some top tips for those new to digital dating.

How long is your to do list? Have you done that thing you’ve been meaning to do all day, or maybe you haven’t got round to it for weeks? Whether it’s finding a plumber, booking the dentist or getting your car fixed. All these never-ending tasks can suck the joy out of life. Academic and Mum, Elizabeth Emens became so fascinated with the subject she has studied how different people deal with “Life Admin” and has written a book about it.
“The Art of Life Admin: How to do less, do it better, live more” is a fascinating look at how this unseen form of work creeps into our lives and takes up our precious free time. And unsurprisingly the burden of it often falls on women.
The good news is, Elizabeth has lots of tips and tricks to help you get organised and get it done in less time, so you can get on with things you actually enjoy!

When Sarah Brown moved into 10 Downing Street when her husband Gordon became Prime Minister she didn’t think her life would change that much. Afterall, she’d already been living next door at number 11 for the previous ten years. But her life did change in ways she didn’t expect. Sarah talks about what living behind the big black door, was like both in the role of Prime Minister’s wife and as the Mum of two small children.
Since that time Sarah has been busy campaigning for the children’s charity she founded. Theirworld aims to give children from all over the world the best possible start in life, whatever their circumstances.
Sarah also talks about the importance of finding her own voice and how she overcame her fear of public speaking.
We also talk about grief and loss. Sarah and Gordon’s baby girl Jennifer died at just 10 days old. Sarah has some heartfelt advice for anyone going through a similar situation.

When Sarah Brown was in her twenties she began suffering from chronic outbreaks of hives, or to give it its proper name 'urticaria'. When she couldn’t find any skin creams to soothe her inflamed and irritated skin she decided to have a go at making one herself and her success led to the launch of Pai: an organic skincare range aimed at people with extremely sensitive skin. That was eleven years ago and Pai has gone from lowly beginnings in a garage belonging to Sarah’s parents to an international brand with fans all over the world as well as celebrity endorsements from Emma Watson and Natalie Portman.
Sarah has two small boys and talks about the challenges of being a working mum. She doesn’t have a nanny and has learnt to put her smartphone away and focus on family time.
Sarah has some great advice for people with sensitive skin. If you’re a parent of a child with eczema you might want to listen!

This one’s about work. Whether you’re a working mum or dad looking for the right work-life balance, a mum returning to the workplace after maternity leave or you’re someone who wants to move up the career ladder but isn’t quite sure how. Zena Everett has the answers. Zena used to be a recruiter so she knows how companies think. She also knows how they SHOULD be thinking in order to recruit the best people - particularly parents. As a mum of two, Zena gets why parents need work that’s flexible. Here she explains the traps some working mums fall into like squeezing a five days of work into four and being too grateful for simply having a job in the first place. Oh and don’t be the one who takes the tea-towels home for a wash!

Jane Milton loves food. So much so she’s made a career out of it. She is a renowned food industry expert who works with Deborah Meaden behind the scenes on Dragons Den. Jane is equally passionate about feeding those who can’t afford to eat properly by encouraging the food industry to support food banks….she even ate from one for a week to see what it was like. She told me how her love of connecting (and feeding) people has brought her neighbourhood together and how important it is to find your purpose. Jane is a certified tea sommelier and talked to me over a glass of blue iced tea which was delicious!
