It’s time – to yap about yapping.
Now I’ve intentionally waited to record this episode. Because every time something goes properly feral on the internet (as the Jessi Jean $1.2 million Yap Challenge did), I like to observe and also let all the think pieces settle before I add my perspective to the mix.
And if you’re thinking “Tahryn, what the heck are you on about?” – stay with me.
In today’s episode of the How I Do Content Podcast, I’m going to tell you more about the latest online obsession, coined “yapping,” and whether you should become a certified yapper yourself.
The online space is divided, so I want to share my thoughts and how it applies to your business AND specifically your messaging.
So let’s yap.

Everyone loves to go searching for a shiny new strategy – because that’s the reason you keep hitting the same income cap right?!
But what if I told you, the problem often isn’t your strategy – it’s YOU.
I know, I know…
But after over 7 years in business I’ve watched so many capable, ambitious women do everything right on paper and still not hit their goals.
And the hardest thing to admit (because strategy is always the easiest thing to change) is that the ceiling isn't out there – it's internal.
And that’s exactly why I wanted Jess Pinili to join me on today’s episode of the How I Do Content Podcast.
Jess is a business strategist, membership founder, and the woman behind my favourite TikTok business audits.
She works at the intersection of business strategy and subconscious identity work – helping women figure out what's actually going on beneath the surface when the strategy should be working but isn't.
In this episode we get into the subconscious reasons you keep hitting an income cap and what self-sabotage actually looks like in a high-achieving woman's business (spoiler alert: it's a lot sneakier than you think).
This one went deep and I loved every second of it – I think you will too.

Seven years ago I put on my wizard cloak and stepped into The Social Bolt for Day 1 of running my own business.
On that day, I fulfilled my dream of becoming a stay-at-home dog mum. And over the last seven years I’ve experienced some epic highs and equally epic lows but I’m still here 7 years later – and that needs to be fucking celebrated.
So in today’s episode of the How I Do Content Podcast, I'm going back through every single year of this business and sharing some of the lessons that defined it – the things I learned, lived, loved and loathed.
Let’s do this.

As soon as you open Instagram or your inbox these days, you’re hit with a tsunami of AI slop.
Every piece of content looks and sounds exactly the same.
And the impact of this sea of AI slop, is that you’re now trying to get the attention of your ideal clients when they are zoning out and disengaging. The long term impact is WORSE because AI Slop will ruin brand reputations.
This isn’t fear-mongering either – the data AND consumer behaviour both back it up.
When AI started becoming a thing in 2023, the sentiment was mostly positive. People felt excited to use it, and boy did they ever. But now thanks to overuse and the resulting AI slop fest, consumer enthusiasm and even consumer acceptance for AI-generated content has dropped significantly.
So what does this mean for you, the business owner?Well obviously, if you are going to use AI to create your content, proceed with caution.
Be aware that your consumers are thinking about this when making purchase decisions, so you need to make sure your content isn’t giving off AI slop vibes.
How?
In today’s episode of the How I Do Content Podcast I’m sharing 3 things you can do this week to make sure your content is unmissably, undeniably, un-AI-ably YOU.
So let’s get into it.

After last week’s incredible milestone 250th episode, I had a mid-week freak out about what I should record for episode 251.
Because NGL, I had absolutely nothing planned.
Now I can obviously, quite easily come up with an idea but how do you follow episode 250?
Enter Karen – who slid into my DMs and suggested I record a personal episode about my background and who I am now.
Which is a great idea (thanks Karen) because not everyone has been here since Day 1 and seeing as next month is my 7th business birthday – I’ve been around for awhile!
So you might not know the Tahryn + The Social Bolt lore – and that’s what I’m going to share with you on today’s episode of the How I Do Content Podcast. My backstory and how I ended up here, running a business and being the messaging + marketing wizard I am today.
So buckle up and let’s begin.

When I started this podcast 5 years ago, I could never imagine how much it would change my business and me as a person.
I started it because I was OVER Instagram and being told I had to point and dance in Reels otherwise I’d get left behind.
But it gave me WAY more than just proving those gurus wrong. Because not only did I NOT get left behind, but:
I’ve gained so much confidence from using my voice.I’ve interviewed some epic humans, doing epic things – including my ultimate dream guest Samantha Wills I’ve used it as a vehicle to put my messaging into action, episode after episode and as a result have claimed my space as a messaging + marketing wizardAnd obviously, and most importantly, it’s allowed me to grow a loyal group of listeners without whom I never would’ve reached 250 episodes.
So thank you.
To mark the occasion, I handed over the mic to my extra special guest host, Miish Grixti, and we covered everything from how my podcast process has evolved, to what 250 episodes has taught me about consistency, and what I really think about AI's takeover of the online space.
So for the 250th-mother-fucking-time – let’s dive in.

Even though I’m a messaging + marketing wizard and I love creating content…
I hate creating content for Instagram right now.
I hate opening Instagram and constantly hearing “AI just killed [insert latest industry] so if you don’t wanna die get on board the AI train.”
I hate that every piece of content is about how to use AI to replace tasks that quite frankly don’t need AI.
I hate that so much content is so obviously created by AI – the same recycled content ideas, the same writing style.
It’s got to the point where I have so much resistance to even opening the app, let alone creating content for it.
And it’s not because I don’t know what to post. I have millions of brilliant ideas sitting in my notes app. But sometimes I feel like “what’s the point?!”
So in today’s episode of the How I Do Content Podcast I’m giving you an insight into what I’m doing about this, in case you find yourself in the same slump.
Let’s dive in.

The online business world has a visibility problem.
And I don't mean there's not enough of it. I mean the advice is almost always the same: post every day, go live, do the Reels, build in public, be seen.
If you're someone who reads that list and feels your nervous system quietly revolt – you're not broken.
You just haven't found your version of visibility yet.
Because here's the thing – getting in front of the right people doesn't require you to be loud. It doesn't require you to perform. And it definitely doesn't require you to become someone you're not.
That's exactly what today's episode of the How I Do Content Podcast is about.
My guest today has been in business for 11 years and has watched every era of online business come and go – the influencer coach era, the girlboss era, the information age, and now whatever the hell we're calling the AI era one.
And what she's landed on is a way of building a business that's designed around your energy, your strengths, and the way you actually work best.
Katherine Mackenzie-Smith is an award-winning business coach, host of the Cozy Business with Katherine podcast, and creator of the Cozy Business Quest. She helps introverted, highly sensitive, and neurodivergent solopreneurs stop spinning in circles, pick a clear direction, and follow through, without burning out or becoming someone they're not.
In this episode we get into what a cozy business actually means (because it's probably not what you think), how to get visible in a way that doesn't make you want to hide under a blanket, and why right now might actually be the best time ever to be the quieter voice in the room.
So let's dive in.

Most business owners are really good at what they do. Like, genuinely talented.
But when it comes to writing about what they do? It often falls a bit flat.
And the frustrating part is that it's got nothing to do with their writing ability.
And in a world where everyone is reaching for AI to write their content, this problem is only getting worse.
AI can't replicate you – it can't mine your lived experience, your perspective, or the way you think.
So if you were already struggling to sound like yourself before AI came along, outsourcing your words to a robot isn't going to fix that. It's just going to give you more content that sounds like everyone else.
So if AI isn't the answer, what is? That's exactly what we're diving into today with my extra magical guest, Kirsty Fanton.
Kirsty is an ex-psychotherapist, ex-copywriter, and ex-pert (see what she did there? 😉) communicator, who helps online business owners hear and get heard when it matters most.
Think: more successful sales convos, more memorable podcast interviews, richer experiences inside your courses and memberships, team meetings and the like.
Her work isn't about tips and tricks – it's bigger-picture, human-centred strategy that puts your relationship with yourself, your business, and the people you serve right at the centre.
And in this episode of the How I Do Content Podcast, we get into why smart, talented business owners end up sounding like everyone else, the psychology behind generic copy, what "use of self" actually looks like in your content, and the real reason your voice isn't coming through – and I promise you, it's not what you think.
If you've ever used AI to write your content and still felt like something was missing, this one is for you.

If you’ve been following along over the past couple of weeks, you’ll know I’ve been doing a little mini-series here on the How I Do Content Podcast where I share what I’d recommend if I were to don the Wizard’s cape and step into your business as a marketing consultant. The real practical messaging + marketing magic that helps you become the obvious choice – the one your dream clients don’t even hesitate to hire.
So far we’ve covered:
Part 1 – the Launching a New Offer Edition. Part 2 – the Growing Your Audience Edition. So if you missed either of those, go back and listen first.
Today is Part 3, the final episode in this mini-series and it's the one most people come to me wanting help with – How to make more sales.
Because at the end of the day, everything we’ve talked about in this mini-series – launching a new offer or growing your audience – it all comes back to this.
More sales. More revenue. More dream clients in your world. More capacity to do the work you actually love.
But here’s the thing – making more sales isn’t about finding some magical new tactic. It’s not about a secret hook, a clever trending audio, or the latest thing some guru is flogging on Instagram.
It’s actually pretty simple (not easy, but simple).
So let’s get into it.

Over the past 7 years, I’ve been the go-to messaging and marketing strategist working with hundreds of small business owners and founder-led brands across a huge range of industries – from therapists and lawyers to coaches, creatives and wellness practitioners.
I’ve never met a business model or offer I don’t know how to sell, and every single offer I’ve launched in my business has made sales.
So I wanted to do a little mini-series here on the podcast where I share what I’d recommend if I were to don the Wizard’s cape and step into your business as a marketing consultant. The real practical messaging + marketing magic that helps you become the obvious choice.
I’ve picked 3 of the most common scenarios that people come to me seeking help with – today’s episode is on launching a new offer.
Because at this point, I’ve done so many launches it’s basically part of my DNA. I’ve developed and executed launch strategies that have generated 5 and 6-figure results. From the strategy and messaging right through to the content – I've built it all.
So let's get into it. Here are the 3 things I'd tell you if you came to me right now and said: I've got a new offer and I need to launch it.

I committed the cardinal sin of messaging – I spoke to the wrong person.
Yes, even a messaging + marketing wizard like me makes mistakes
And sure, I could pretend like it didn’t happen and not share this with you (because most people would) – but that’s not how I roll.
Plus I think it’s helpful for you to understand what happens when your messaging doesn’t quite hit the mark AND what you can do to fix it moving forward.
So in today’s episode of the How I Do Content Podcast, I’m owning my mistake and sharing what needs to shift for next time to make sure I’m speaking to those Beyonce-level clients only.

I’ve just wrapped up another launch period for Micro Messaging, which means I’ve spent the last couple of weeks deep in conversation with my people.
And while yes, the goal is always sales, it’s also one of the best ways to see what’s actually going on behind the scenes.
What people want.
Where they’re stuck.
What’s not clicking.
And girl, we need to have an honest conversation about your marketing.
Because I’m seeing a BIG gap between what you say you want and what you’re currently doing to get there.
So in today’s episode of the How I Do Content Podcast I’m ready to have that honest conversation with you because I want you to win.
I want to see you attract Beyonce-level clients and to be known as the Dumbledore-level wizard in your industry – but right now your messaging + marketing isn’t matching your magic.

If your messaging was working 12 months ago and, fast-forward to today, it's no longer working the same way, what would be your first instinct about why?
Because what I see most people do is make it mean something about themselves.
I'm not good enough.
My offer isn't good enough.
Maybe I should just burn my business to the ground and start from scratch.
So from that place of self-doubt, they start dismantling everything.
New offer.
New niche.
New content strategy.
Pulling apart things that, quite frankly, didn't need pulling apart and then exhausting themselves solving a problem that was never the actual problem.
But after over 7 years working with hundreds of business owners on their messaging + marketing, the answer is almost never what they think it is.
So in today’s episode of the How I Do Content Podcast, I’m sharing the real reason your messaging isn’t working like it did last year and what you need to change to make sure you get back on track and make more sales.
So let’s begin.

There’s something that almost every single business owner struggles with at some point (even me!) – and that’s talking about your own offer.
Because in your head, the offer makes total sense.
You know the depth of the work.
You know the results people can get.
You know how much thought, experience and care has gone into creating it.
But translating all of that into a sales page or an email that actually moves your ideal client to take action and buy from you – well that’s where things can start to feel surprisingly hard.
You know you need to talk about your offer if you want to make money – but how can you do that when every time you try to explain it, it feels like you’re speaking parseltongue?
Well today’s guest on the How I Do Content Podcast is a Dumbledore-level expert on this topic.
Miish is a dairy-farm-dwelling Tasmanian, ex-copywriter-and-launch-strategist, triple-certified coach, and founder of WriteLikeYou.ai.
Over the past 8+ years she’s helped some of the biggest-hearted businesses in the personal development and online education space pull off email-based five, six and seven-figure launches.
But what I really appreciate about Miish is the way she blends mindset with practical strategy – because writing powerful copy for your sales pages and emails isn’t just about finding the right words. It’s about reconnecting with the belief behind the work you do and communicating that in a way your best-fit clients can actually feel.
So in this episode of the How I Do Content Podcast, Miish and I are diving into how to talk about your offer in a way that helps the right people instantly see the value – and confidently say yes.

At the start of this week I asked my mini-mind clients what they most wanted to shift in their offer messaging right and almost every single one said the same thing.
They told me
I want my messaging to be more specific – I know I speak to everyone and no one at the same time.Another said: I want my client to read my offer and feel like THIS IS FOR ME.Someone else said: my retreat feels like an obvious yes to me – I just need my people to feel that too.And another: I want clarity. I want my client to see themselves needing this. These are brilliant and bright women with great offers. What they need now is messaging that matches their magic so their ideal clients feel like their offer was made for them.
So in today's episode of the How I Do Content Podcast, I'm going to show you exactly why your ideal client doesn't feel like your offer is for them – and what to do about it.
Let’s begin.

Let’s talk about something that I believe is costing a lot of business owners a lot of money right now.
And you might not be aware you’re even doing this because it’s something the online space has conditioned you to do.
And that’s hyper-fixating on getting more opportunities when you're not even converting the opportunities you already have.
The gurus are constantly telling you that you need MORE – more followers, more views, more traffic, more leads.
It’s exactly why trial reels are the current obsession in the online space right now.
But what people are overlooking is, sure followers, views, traffic, leads are great – but do you want to know what’s better? Sales.
You’re literally ignoring the people who are already there and want to pay you.
So in today’s episode of the How I Do Content Podcast I’m going to share how to convert the opportunities right in front of you.
This was inspired by a conversation with a client this week that I haven't been able to stop thinking about – and I think it's going to hit home for you too.
So let’s begin.

One of my biggest beliefs in business is that → better questions = better results.
I know this to be true because, as I’ve honed my skills as a messaging + marketing wizard, the level of questions I ask my community, my clients, and my coach determines the quality of the outcomes we create together.
The questions you ask reveal what you believe is possible, where you're focused, and most importantly, they determine the actions you take.
So if you’re asking the wrong questions, you’ll start to get distracted from what actually helps you get what you most want. You'll chase shiny objects. You'll focus on tactics instead of strategy. You'll spend months working on things that don't lead to sales.
And when I look at my clients who are hitting six and seven figures, I’ve noticed a pattern when it comes to the questions they’re asking.
So in today’s episode of the How I Do Content Podcast, I'm going to tell you the questions my highest-earning clients are asking me in 2026 – and more importantly, the questions they've stopped asking.
Because if you want different results, you need to start asking different questions.

Last year I took a risk when I made the decision to evolve my program Micro Messaging.
Not because it wasn’t working or selling – it was working + selling very well actually.
But I was in a season of reevaluating how I wanted to run my business…
And I also recognised some shifts in the market and my ideal client that made me want to pull the trigger on these changes sooner rather than later.
Instead of “waiting” until I was more ready or for that illusive perfect time (which doesn’t exist btw) – I committed to this new evolution and went all in on bringing it to life.
And since making that decision and putting it into action, I've tripled my conversion rate into the program.
So in today’s episode of the How I Do Content Podcast, I’m sharing the 3 shifts that made my offer the obvious choice.
An offer that even though I’ve been selling it on repeat since July – people aren't sick of hearing about it, because they just keep buying.
So let me break down how I did this.
SIGN UP FOR THE OBVIOUS CHOICE OFFER MINI-MIND
I've created The Obvious Choice Offer Mini-Mind where I break down these three shifts in even more detail and walk you through exactly how to apply them to your own messaging.
There’s 2 live trainings over 2 weeks as well as a private Telegram group for daily support between sessions.
It's practical, it's implementable, and it's designed to help you transform your offer from "sounds interesting" to "I need this right now."
It’s only $47 and we start on the 23rd February – sign up at https://thesocialbolt.com.au/mini-mind/
