  • For this final episode, Ben is joined by Davide Cerrato, the CEO of Bremont. Cerrato has had a long and successful career in the watch industry since starting at Panerai in 2004. He's probably best known for his tenure at Tudor, during which the brand relaunched in the United States and introduced the Black Bay line. But he's not all business; the jovial and well-dressed Italian brings his unique sense of style to the staid Swiss watch industry. After Tudor, he made stops at Montblanc and HYT before being announced as the CEO of Bremont in May 2023. The announcement came after billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman and Hellcat Acquisitions LP invested $59 million in Bremont in a funding round that the Financial Times reported valued the company at more than £100 million.

    As Cerrato tells us, Bremont is gearing up for a "relaunch" of the brand at Watches & Wonders in April 2024 – the first time it'll exhibit at the annual trade show in Geneva. In this Ben Clymer Presents conversation, Cerrato tells us about his vision for Bremont and the opportunities he sees, his 20-plus years in watches, and a little bit of Italian tailoring.

  • For the 9th installment of Ben Clymer Presents, Ben sits down with pro golfer Keith Mitchell, who is known not only for his golfing ability but also for his sense of style and his deep love of watches. Ben and Keith dig into everything from Keith's training to his family history in watches and what he brought in a watch roll to the recording to special creations from Laurent Ferrier, the pros and cons of playing with blades, and some extra cool references from Patek Philippe.

    //Episode 8 //

    For this Patek Philippe-focused episode, Ben is joined by John Reardon, the founder of Collectability.com (and former Hodinkee contributor). John is an expert in all things vintage Patek, and the two talk about where the brand's auction fascination started and how that has been reflected in a broad collection of special references (think: 3700 to 5711, and the likes of the 5970, 3970, 3448, 5270, 5070 chronograph, and even the legendary 2499).

    It's a walk down memory lane as both Ben and John recall exciting moments in their history with Patek's watches alongside the more macro trends that have seen some references shine while others wait for a spot in the limelight. We hope you love the episode – a big thanks to John for coming on the show; you can find more of his work at Collectability.com.

  • In this episode, Ben sits down with Hodinkee editors Mark Kauzlarich and Tony Traina. After a morning of previewing the New York watch auctions at Sotheby's and Phillips, the three chat about the state of the market and watch auctions before jumping into their thoughts on some of the watches they saw in New York. There's a discussion of vintage Patek and Rolex – including the collection of one collector beloved by the community – but also other brands, indies, and even our favorite Richard Milles. At the end of it all, the trio pick their favorite watches that they saw, as well as the lots they'll be watching to get a gauge on the state of the auction market.

    Sotheby's Important Watches auction takes place on December 7, and Phillips New York Auction: Nine happens on December 9–10. Both have public previews at their New York locations prior to the sale.

    // Episode 6 //

    Recorded on the same day that Lange launched the new Zeitwerk Minute Repeater in Honeygold, this episode features Ben chatting with Wilhelm Schmid, the CEO of A. Lange & Söhne. The two chat about the evolution of the brand on the eve of its 30th anniversary, the metric by which Lange measures its own success, what it takes to buy one of the brand's extra special limited editions and even some of Wilhelm's favorite non-Lange watches. It's a fascinating chat and a rare chance to better understand the perspective and philosophy guiding the influential and talented German brand.

    // Episode 1

    For episode 1, Ben is joined by two special guests – Jean Arnault and Rexhep Rexhepi – on the launch of a very special collaboration between their brands, Louis Vuitton and Akrivia. The watch is called the LVRR-01 Chronographe à Sonnerie, and Ben chats with both about how they came to work together, what this new watch means for each brand (and for independent watchmaking) as well as how this collaboration marks a pivotal point in the future of Akrivia, and LV's plans to continue with four more limited edition collaborations. It's a rare treat to have two guests from very different sides of the watchmaking universe, and both offer a unique perspective on their latest collaboration and more – we hope you love it.
