  • In this delightful episode of Hey Sis Eat This, we welcome half-sisters Natasha Gregson Wagner and Poppy Wall for an intimate conversation about family, food, and the magic of shared experiences across continents. Growing up on different sides of the Atlantic, these sisters have a unique bond despite being raised in two distinct worlds—Natasha in the glamorous backdrop of Hollywood as the daughter of legendary actress Natalie Wood, and Poppy in the serene countryside of Wales.

You’re going to love the story of how Natasha discovered she was going to be a big sister, their fond memories of growing up together, and the profound impact their mother Julia Gregson, had on their lives. Julia, an award-winning journalist, was the calming force of the family, embodying a hippy spirit and mystical beauty that left a lasting impression on step daughter, Natasha. With her warm demeanor and nurturing presence, Julia created a sanctuary in her Wales country side home where everyone felt at ease, encouraging open dialogue and genuine connection, despite the antiquated plumbing. She truly valued the sacred ritual of gathering around the dinner table, where deep conversations and vodka from the freezer flowed freely for hours. Epic meals in Wales played a pivotal role in the sisters upbringing and Julia’s fruit crumble and beloved shepherd’s pie continue to grace their family dinner tables, today.

Tune in for a peek into the Gregson family’s traditions, and discover the lessons learned about the importance of nurturing relationships around a shared table and pursuing passions at any age. There’s culinary inspiration and lots of familial affection, as we explore the enduring bonds of sisterhood, the joys of cooking, and the legacy of the remarkable Mummy Julia.

  • We’re back from our summer hiatus, and Season 3 of Hey Sis, Eat This is kicking off stronger than ever!

To launch this exciting new season, we’re joined by none other than Monique Volz—blogger, media personality, and now, cookbook author of The Ambitious Kitchen.

Monique, whose middle name might as well be "Ambitious," shares the story behind her rise to success. She started Ambitious Kitchen while still in college, channeling her love for baking and recipe development as a way to cope with the loss of her father and navigate her own journey with an eating disorder. Through her blog, she was able to heal and transform her relationship with food.

With her signature drive—something she credits to her stylish, feisty, and “boot-scootin'” grandmother, Nana—Monique has added “cookbook author” to her ever-growing list of achievements. Courtney and Whitney eagerly dove into an advance copy of The Ambitious Kitchen and spent a weekend testing recipes. The verdict? Monique knows exactly what she’s doing in the kitchen!

Monique also opens up about the biggest inspiration in her life: her incredible mother, Lynn. A single mom who juggled three jobs while ensuring her kids had home-cooked meals, Momma Lynn inspired Monique’s passion for food by teaching her about ingredients, often using encyclopedias, and always experimenting with new recipes.

In this episode, you’ll hear how Momma Lynn continues to influence Monique’s cooking today, how she shaped the new cookbook, and which recipes are Monique’s personal favorites. To find out which recipe Monique declares the PD (Panty Dropper) of the book, tune in now!!

  • In the latest episode of Hey Sis, Eat This, Courtney and Whitney dive right into their Labor Day weekend adventures. While Whitney spent her time making enchilada drop-offs for friends—Courtney had a different kind of food experience at the Malibu Chili Cook Off. She shares her surprise at the carnival-like event, complete with rides and a hefty $40 entry fee. But the highlight? An unforgettable brisket chili from Stoner House Farms that left her with excited taste buds with a side of heartburn.

The conversation continues with talk of Whitney’s recent trip to Fort Worth, where she discovered a standout restaurant serving a variety of mole sauces—despite her usual dislike for the dish. The sisters also tease a packed week ahead, celebrating Momma Ashley's upcoming birthday in Waco. Things take a funny turn when Whitney shares a sexy dream involving The Bear star Jeremy Allen White, brisket sandwiches, and Calvin Klein ads, which leads to a hopeful discussion about their dream guest, Maddie Matheson.

In honor of back-to-school season, we're celebrating the life and legacy of Marjorie Taylor, a beloved elementary school teacher and devoted mother. In this special re-release from Season 1, Courtney and Whitney sit down with Tiffany Chen, founder of Tiff’s Treats, and her sister Melinda Thomas, a news producer and breast cancer thriver. The Taylor sisters fondly share memories of their mother, Marjorie, who was known for her fun spirit, adventurous heart, and no-nonsense attitude. Whether it was tackling roller coasters or planning epic road trips with creative snacks, Margie was a hands-on, dedicated mom who made sure her family was well-fed and well-loved.

Sadly, Marjorie passed away earlier this year, making this episode even more poignant. Throughout her career as a teacher, she left a lasting impact on her students and touched the lives of so many, both in the classroom and at home. As the Taylor sisters reminisce about her candid sex talks, family pranks, and the love she poured into every meal, we dedicate this episode to Marjorie and her family. Her warmth, wisdom, and endless creativity will always be remembered.

  • This week on Hey Sis, Eat This, Whitney and Courtney bring the laughs with stories from their latest adventures. Whitney’s horseback riding tales lead to the discovery of "horsey elbow," and Courtney fills us in on her jam-packed weekend of back to school mom parties. The sisters also brainstorm a fun fish and chips appetizer that’s sure to be a hit at their next gathering.

Courtney is gearing up for the Malibu Chili Cook-Off, where teens, carnival rides, and chili come together in one epic event. Plus, Whitney gives a shoutout to her friend's vineyard, Gross Grain, offering a perfect wine escape for your next weekend trip.

Then we take it back to Season 1 with one of Whitney’s BFF from childhood, Natalie Huber and her three sisters, Elizabeth, Tiffany, and Ali. The thick as thieves Huber sisters delve into their close-knit relationship shaped by their hardworking, loyal and loving mom, Lynne. A nurse with a demanding schedule, Momma Lynne instilled independence, a strong work ethic, and a reliance on family in her five children. The sisters share hilarious stories from childhood, highlighting moments of mischief and camaraderie.

A self proclaimed “not the warm and fuzzy type", Lynne provided plenty of love when it came to her cooking. From her signature "Ham and Rice” dish, a family favorite by all, to her dreaded beef stroganoff, Lynne made family dinners a priority despite her busy schedule. The sisters reminisce about chaotic family road trips curated by Momma Lynne's playlists featuring songs by Carly Simon, Dion Warwick, and Olivia Newton John.

From MOD (Make Own Dinner) nights to recruiting friends to share in the household chores on weekends, these siblings were savvy beyond their years. The sisters recall an infamous incident when their parents entrusted the girls to stay home alone for two weeks, resulting in a stolen sum of money and their creative attempts to raise funds before their mom's return. The essence of the Huber sisters' upbringing was filled with love, laughter, independence, and memorable escapades that contributed to their enduring closeness.

  • It’s another celebration on Hey Sis, Eat This! We’re honoring The Mother of French Cuisine, Julia Child, by dressing up as our queen of cooking on her birthday. Inspired by a recent free lunch Whitney received, the sisters celebrate Julia Child and her impact on the culinary world. We then plan a menu for Courtney’s Summer BBQ that includes zesty citrus shrimp and panzanella salad.

The celebration doesn’t stop there as we revisit Episode 39: Torry The Tornado Featuring the Neitzel Siblings. Whitney’s high school girl crush, Elyse, joins the sisters with her two brothers, Michael and Chef Johnathan as they reminisce about their adventurous summer vacations with their beloved Momma Torry. The Neizels recount their epic summer road trips, where they crisscrossed the country in a Winnebago, visiting nearly every state in the Lower 48. These vacations were anything but ordinary, filled with spontaneous detours, colorful sponge-painting projects on the RV walls, and even an unforgettable stop at a Native American reservation. Through these stories, listeners get a vivid picture of how Momma Torry, a woman of boundless energy and creativity, made every journey an unforgettable adventure.

  • We're back with a brand new intro to one of our classic episodes! Courtney and Whitney kick things off by sharing the latest on their recent California escapades—from hosting a women’s marketing panel in the serene Ojai Valley to navigating the chaos of LA life. Think chauffeuring teens to Summer camps, braving the madness of Universal Studios (seriously, never again). Once back home in Dallas, Whitney shares a hilarious story about Momma Ashley's concern for a French Olympian’s 'baguette' after falling short in the poll vaulting competition.

After the laughs and updates, we’re diving into a fan-favorite from Season 1: Episode 40 - Sweet Corn, Slow Cooker, and the Side Queen. This one’s a true gem featuring the Rasch brothers—Alex, Kyle, and Jordan—who grew up in the small town of Mascoutah, Illinois, where Sunday suppers at their family farm were legendary. Picture this: 30+ people gathered every week, rain or shine, with their blind grandmother at the helm, serving up hearty, homemade meals that are still talked about today.

The brothers take us back to those simpler times, reminiscing about their mom, Cheryl (aka Momma Chi Chi), who was more about the fun than the fuss in the kitchen. Chi Chi was the queen of sides and always had a crockpot going in the camper during their lake adventures. With her signature jalapeno lights strung up, she made sure every camping trip was filled with laughter, community, and, of course, delicious food.

And who could forget the Amann family cookbook, "From Our Home To Yours"? This treasured heirloom, crafted by Chi Chi and her six siblings, is filled with cherished family recipes and cocktails that have been passed down through generations. The Rasch brothers hold this cookbook dear, cooking from it regularly as a way to keep their family traditions alive.

So, grab a cold Zima in honor of Momma Chi Chi, and join us for this heartfelt and hilarious trip down memory lane. Whether it’s your first time listening or you’re revisiting an old favorite, this episode is sure to bring a smile to your face and maybe even a tear to your eye. Cheers!

  • It’s our 2nd annual Father’s Day celebration and we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome back to the show, our own amazing father, Daddy (Glenn) Ashley. One of the best story tellers we know, he does not disappoint in this weeks episode as we listen to and then breakdown some of the best “dad stories” we’ve heard on this show.

From quirky dinner table rituals to family pranks, Daddy Ashley weighs in on some of our favorite dad stories from past guests. Then we dig into our own father’s father, Paw Paw, the original trickster, and some of the unconventional ways he used to entertain his kids. Whether a family outing to look at Christmas lights or teaching his kids about current events, his flare for the adrenaline rush clearly got passed down to our dad. Daddy Ashley also shares an incredible memory involving his first hand account of the events around JFK’s assassination in Dallas. You won’t want to miss this one!!

We are dedicating this Father’s Day episode to our much beloved uncle “Doncle” Don Williams, who passed away on June 11th. Doncle was a classic, one of the most incredible, dedicated and loving father’s we know who loved life, loved his family and was a bright light to anyone in his orbit. May you rest in peace, Doncle. We love you so much, and we especially loved your show!

    Happy Father’s Day y’all!

  • Whitney and Courtney welcome Amy Cohen Epstein, the inspiring president and executive director of the Lynne Cohen Foundation and host of the women’s wellness podcast, The SEAM.

Amy, who founded the organization with her siblings, shares her journey from losing her mom, Lynne, at the age of 21 to creating a nonprofit organization in her honor. The foundation is dedicated to combating ovarian and breast cancer through preventative care, education, and community, and is a true testament to Lynne's enduring spirit and love for others.

Amy reminisces about the vibrant and beloved "Momma Lynnie" who was a college cheerleader, a doting mother of four and the consummate hostess with the mostess, despite the fact that cooking was not her forte. Amy claims Lynne was a bit of a local celebrity in her own community simply because everyone who knew her loved her dearly!

Inspired by her incredible mother, Amy Cohen Epstein’s advocacy for women's health issues has created a path for female empowerment in a world where women often don’t know how to take charge of their own health. She highlights the importance of preventative care, sharing anecdotes about the foundation's work and the thousands of women they've helped over the years. Her dedication to educating and supporting women through the Lynne Cohen Foundation and "The Seam" podcast is truly commendable. This episode of "Hey, Sis, Eat This" is a beautiful tribute to Momma Lynnie and a celebration of the enduring impact one woman can have not just on her family and community but whose legacy lives on through the foundation.

  • It’s a Sis - Ter celebration today as Courtney & Whitney team up with the Sis & Tell Podcast co-hosts and sisters, Alison and Amanda Goldstein. These truly hilarious sisters will leave you wondering who’s interviewing who as they delve into Courtney and Whitney’s parents divorce, their commitments to podcasting together and how they all share a love of imitating their mothers’ Southern accents.

But then, we have the great honor of learning all about the fabulous Mommy Arlene! A Southern belle fashionista who sends a birthday card to everyone she knows, makes a killer "Banini bread" and loves a good skinny margarita.

The sis’ tell all as they recall treasured family recipes and memories from around the dinner table. We also learn about Mommy Arlene’s groundbreaking fashion career in Alabama to side splitting carpool stories where a broken horn or snow storm wouldn’t stop this high-heeled wearing momma from getting her kids safely home from school.

The love these sisters have for this generous, thoughtful momma who made family her number one priority is quite touching and you quickly see that the apples don't fall far from the tree.

We are totally twinning with these soul sisters who appreciate Southern hospitality, have a deep love for Momma/Mommy, and understand the rollercoaster ride of podcasting with your sibling!

  • Join sisters Alex Pfeifer & Sabrina Chazen as they bring the heat to this weeks episode of Hey Sis, Eat This. Fireworks explode as these two dynamic women dish out tales of meals, Momma, and memories from their vastly different perspectives.

Alex, a powerhouse in Los Angeles real estate, and Sabrina, a trendsetting fashion influencer, both share a drive for success and independence. Where they do differ is recounting what it was like around their dinner table given their "debatable" 7 year age gap.

The sisters fill us in on Momma Cathie who was an extraordinary homemaker who passed down her art of cooking and entertaining to Alex but Sabrina prefers Postmates. We learn that Cathie was the Queen of Casseroles and if you didn't know any better you would think she was a Texan from the taste of her Tamale pie.

Alex and Sabrina share that Momma Cathie always taught them to be kind and inclusive. Whether times were good or bad, everything can be fixed with a Momma Cathie casserole.
