As Ramadan begins to draw to a close, many of us find ourselves reflecting with mixed emotions — gratitude, exhaustion, and sometimes guilt. Maybe the goals we set weren’t fully met. Maybe life got in the way. And now the thought creeps in: Did I waste this Ramadan?
In this episode, we have an honest conversation with Fatima Auwal Shehu about dealing with that feeling of “not doing enough,” overcoming guilt, and finding motivation in the final days of the month.
We explore how to shift from regret to hope, why it’s never too late to return to Allah, and how even one sincere moment of worship can transform your Ramadan.
Because as long as the month hasn’t ended, the door of mercy is still wide open.

How many of us pray… but feel nothing?
In this episode of our Ramadan series, we explore how salah can move from routine to relationship. Joined by Fatima Auwal Shehu, we have an honest conversation about distraction, spiritual autopilot, and what it really means to stand before Allah with presence.
Why do we rush through prayer?
How do we build khushoo’?
And how can salah become a real, personal conversation instead of just a daily task?
If you’ve ever struggled to feel connected in prayer, this episode will remind you that it’s not about perfection — it’s about intention, understanding, and returning with sincerity.
Let’s rediscover the beauty of meeting Allah five times a day.

Ramadan is more than a month of fasting , it’s a divine invitation to reset, realign, and return.
In the first episode of our Ramadan series, we begin by asking an honest question: Are we entering this month prepared… or just present?
Joined by Fatima Auwal Shehu, we explore the importance of intention, spiritual preparation, and what it truly means to approach Ramadan with purpose. How do we move beyond routines and cultural habits? How do we prepare our hearts — not just our schedules?
This conversation dives into:
• Setting sincere intentions (niyyah)
• Letting go of spiritual distractions
• Preparing your heart before the first fast
• Shifting from performance to presence
• Entering Ramadan with clarity and vision
If you’ve ever felt like Ramadan passes by too quickly, or you struggle to maintain momentum throughout the month, this episode is your spiritual reset.
Because transformation doesn’t begin on the first day of fasting — it begins with intention.
May this episode help you step into Ramadan with purpose, depth, and sincerity.

We close out Creatives Month with an inspiring conversation with fictional writer Abubakar Adam Ibrahim, one of Northern Nigeria’s most respected literary voices.
In this final episode, Abubakar opens up about self-doubt, how and when he started writing, and the alternative paths he might have taken if writing wasn’t his calling. We explore the big question: is writing nature or nurture? and he shares immersive advice on balancing real life with creative work.
We also dive into Northern Nigerian storytelling, why many writers stay local as a cultural choice, how to break free from creative limitations, and why Northerners often allow others to tell their stories.
To wrap things up, Abubakar tells us what he’s currently reading and loving, and leaves creatives with a powerful reminder: believe in yourself.
This is the final episode of our Creatives Month series — and a perfect note to end on.

You know what time of the year it is on HerSpace Podcast ✨
It’s Creatives Month, and we’re kicking off the year with Hajara Habib, a female photographer building a powerful, female-led brand.
In this episode, Hajara reminds us of one essential truth: there’s always a human behind the aesthetics. This conversation taught me so much, and I hope every creative listening feels inspired to trust themselves, their vision, and their craft.

Hey guys! Long time no episode — I’ve missed doing this and I’m glad to be back behind the mic. 💛
In this episode, I open up about my annual burnout cycle — when I first started noticing it, the hesitation I felt about seeking therapy (even though I advocate for it), and how I’ve begun to wonder if being neurodivergent plays a role in the way burnout keeps showing up in my life.
I share what I’m planning to do differently this time: pursuing a diagnosis, committing to therapy with or without that label, and creating practical structures like pre-recording content to cushion myself for when burnout inevitably returns.
If you’ve ever felt caught in repeating cycles of exhaustion or questioned what it means about you, this one’s for you.

We all know someone who believes that everything happening to them is someone else’s fault — and sometimes, that someone is us. In this episode, I dive into victim mentality: where it mostly stems from, how it sometimes secretly serves us, and practical ways to break free from it.
We also explore how this mindset has impacted us as Arewa society, and why it’s time to stop folding our arms, waiting for the government to fix everything. Instead, we’ll talk about how we can take ownership, take action, and start rebuilding from the ground up.

On this episode, I welcome my best friend and we have a reflective conversation on how after Ramadan, it’s just so difficult to first, trust yourself to continue being as mindful as you were in the Holy Month. And, how emotionally we are still stuck in Ramadan but the world isn’t slowing down for us to catch up.
It’s reflective, impactful, honest and laid back. We also speak from the awareness that we are flawed Humans, and the good that comes from it is from Allah, and anything else comes from our weaknesses. May Allah forgive us.
Enjoy!

In this episode of HerSpace, we’re diving deep into the fear of aging, why so many women dread getting older and how we can start embracing it with grace. And who better to have this conversation with than Coach Diddi?
Tables were shattered, myths were busted, and Coach Diddi brought her signature energy as we talked about self-worth, societal pressure, and the unspoken fears that come with aging. We explored why so many women hide their age, the stigma around unmarried women in their 30s and beyond, and whether the fear of aging is really about aging or something deeper.
If you’ve ever worried about getting older or felt like time is slipping away, this one’s for you. Let’s redefine what it means to age.
