When you're hit by those unexpected moments in life, you've got a choice as to how you can react. My favourite piece of advice:
"Don't get bitter, get better!"

Where are decisions made in your organisation?
One of the key phrases that I picked up in my time in F1 was 'decisions at the point of most knowledge'.
In this week's episode I discuss what this means, and how you might apply it for your own performance

A phrase that's credited to special forces (I believe the Navy Seals) came to my attention recently*:
"Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast"
This really resonated with me, and aligned to a lot of the experiences I've had in the high performance world of F1 - if you want to move with pace, slow yourself down, get the details right and then build up the speed.
Think of playing a tune on the piano - learn the notes first, and play at half speed, then build in the speed and the feeling once you've got the basics right.
This is the same in F1 - those sub-2-second pit stops that you see are practiced at walking pace. The team get a feel for the 'flow' of the activity before building in the pace.
Think about how this might apply to your business, team or personal performance. How can you put this principle into practice for yourself to see awesome results?
As always, drop me a message through www.paulteasdale.co.uk to let me know how you're accelerating your career, and let's talk about any support I can give

Having the right tools and frameworks along with engaging stories can be hugely valuable to any organisation. But if you don't have the skills to apply those tools and stories then it all comes to naught.
Facilitation is the art of taking people through a process to get them to a desired outcome. This is the core skill required to put the tools, frameworks and stories into application, so that they drive your high performance.

Even if you have the right tools and frameworks to help you solve your problems, and technically you know how to apply them, without stories you will inevitably lack the engagement of your team, meaning you won't achieve the High Performance you're after
Stories play a huge part in driving and maintaining performance, and I explore that in this week's episode

The call that every parent dreads - your child has been hit by a boulder. Literally.
In this week's episode I speak with Meridith Alexander about the story of her daughter's horrific accident, and how she found the strength to do everything she could to be there for her daughter and help her not only survive, but thrive.
So many lessons to be taken from this amazing story

In this week's episode I delve deeper into ingredient 1 in the High Performance recipe - the right Tools & Frameworks
It's all well and good having great stories to engage your team, and great facilitation skills to implement tools, but if you don't know what the right tools are to help you solve the problem at hand then you will always struggle

3 time USA Memory Champion John Graham has a lot to teach the world in terms of building up your memory muscle through techniques that are available to all of us. But his passion lies in helping people perform by conquering anxiety and releasing panic, for good.
We talk about how John got into the world of competitive memory after he was inspired by the book Moonwalking With Einstein, the art & science of remembering everything, by Joshua Foer (link to book on Amazon)
However, John had always suffered with panic and anxiety, even when performing at his peak, so he wanted to not only manage those feelings, but find a way to get rid of them permanently. After proving the method for himself he now teaches others how they can release panic attacks and daily anxiety, for good.
Go to John's website at https://releasepanic.com/ to find out more about releasing panic, or visit https://memoryjohn.com/ to find out more about memory techniques

My experience has taught me that there are 3 ingredients to the High Performance recipe:
Having knowledge of the right tools and frameworksHaving a story to tell to sell the changeKnowing how to apply the right tools to your specific opportunityAny 2 of these ingredients without the 3rd, and/or an imbalance between the 3 areas, will lead to performance being 'left on the table'

Sick of seeing businesses try and fail at transformation projects to develop company Culture, this week's episode is taking a fresh approach to help make things Click.
Matt Furness has worked across many industries and has seen Culture projects make good initial progress, then inevitably trail off and die. Recognising that the issues did not lie in knowing what to do, but in sustaining the changes required, Matt has developed 'Effortless Culture Change' with a focus on how to build habits and take away the effort that is generally required to make change stick.
We talk about the power of making change:
ObviousAppealingEasyRewardingUltimately it's about how to make it as easy as possible to do the right thing, and not only to be better when we're at our best, but better when we're at our worst!

The age old question - when I need to fill a position, do I build that talent, or buy it in?
There have been some big moves in the world of F1 this year, and there's a lot to reflect on in terms of what we can learn in business about building or buying talent
In this week's episode I talk about the considerations in play and the pros and cons of each approach
