Welcome to Blitz in Space, episode 4! Our heroes are still trying to get their job done and discover what their mysterious cargo is, but that won't be easy now that they've all been arrested. Listen in to see what happens with your old friends, and meet a new one who's been following the story for their own reasons...
This episode guest stars our friend Hairy Nick!

Well, it's here at last: the final episode of Hell of a Pilot. We hope you've enjoyed listening as much as we've enjoyed making it. Most people don't get an audience while they make silly jokes about their favourite games, but we did, which is just ridiculous. Thank you all.
By request, our topics tonight are the RZ-2 A-Wing, the TIE Silencer, the Resistance Bomber and the Clone Wars. Hear about Owen getting excited for things from the past that are coming in the future, Lachie's latest idea for a terrible build, and Mike coming full-circle back to his favourite ship.
We did talk about the Sith Infiltrator and some more of the Aethersprite upgrades, but due to a small hiccup with the computer on the night we lost about ten minutes of conversation. Basically:
Maul is the First Edition Gunner crew cardThe Infiltrator being large base is surprising, and hopefully the cloak mechanic will make up for the weaknesses large bases tend to haveThe weird probe droid token. What is the explanation for the guides on every edge? Does it fly in random directions by putting a template on any side?Again, thank you so much for supporting us for to years. Keep following us on Facebook and if we decide to do anything else we'll let you know.

Are you excited to fly T-70s? Do you want to hear about PAX? Been missing Mike lately? If you find yourself in the centre of this Venn Diagram then this episode is for YOU! Tonight in a super long episode we talk pilots, we talk astromechs, we talk teaching at PAX, and general Second Edition love. Mike is back with a lore section about a very special lady who really changes the flavour of how Imperial ships fly.
There are two reasons to listen all the way to the end of this episode as well: the details of a competition that you can enter very easily, and a piece of very big and important news from us to you. -
So yeah, it's been a while but WE'RE BACK, BABY! Sorry for yelling, it's just that we're excited to cover the recent(ish) articles about the First Order and Resistance. What is implied by some of the abilities? What changes have had to be made? Will it be difficult to sell factions that have like four ships in them? At this point it's really all speculation.
Join Owen and Lachie and their mate and fellow X-wing content maker Ian from YouTube series Fly Casual as they talk Sequel Era stuff and the lore of the galaxy's most gorgeous android.

In the first episode made in the world of Second Edition, Hell of a Pilot joined forces with friend and frequent collaborator Hairy Nick. Only one of us has played a game of Second Edition at time of recording (try to guess which one; I think you'll be pleasantly surprised), but we made it work. We cover the app, we cover squad building, we cover things you didn't even know you wanted us to cover (but definitely do). Stay tuned for a lore section on Wedge Antilles, discussion of the scale of X-wing models, and making YouTube videos for fun and profit.

In episode 40 of Hell of a Pilot, our final episode in a purely First Edition world, we look back on memories of the game we once loved and talk of things to come in Second Edition. Inspired by one of the most popular illicit upgrades from the old game, our lore section this week covers the narcotics of the Star Wars galaxy. If you listen to our show and, just hypothetically, happen to be nine years old, you can still listen to this episode, just make sure you listen with your dad.

In the latest episode of the Hell of a Pilot audio drama, we return to the fast-paced space dogfight that began at the end of episode 2. How will the raucous Rebels and our perseverant privateers fare against the impatient Imperials? Stay tuned after the battle to meet Blitz's shady underworld contact as we try to discover exactly what our heroes have been ordered to smuggle...
Our special guest in this episode was The Zack Mathews of the Carolina Krayts X-wing podcast. He's a top bloke. Follow the Krayts here and here:

Welcome to episode 39, pilots. Tonight we go over points costs, and some of the upgrade slots available to the ships of Second Edition. Are the values of our factions' ships reflective of how powerful they'll be? Why do certain ships have certain slots, and what can you do with them? Also, in a lore section several times longer than her on-screen appearance, we'll tell you all about Magva Yarro and how her life is represented in X-wing.
By the way, we're asking people to join us in looking back on the good old days of X-wing. If you want to help us with that record a video of yourself telling us in 20 to 30 seconds what you loved about First Edition and what you're excited for in Second Edition, and send it to our Facebook inbox! -
If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Snoke, I'd a'been married a long time ago. Where did you come from, where did you go? Where did you come from, TIE/FO?
This episode isn't late, we just didn't record on the night we said we did. In a surprise twist, this worked out for the best. Join us to hear about the X-wing content for the Resistance, the First Order and the Mining Guild TIE. Keeping with the Sequel Era theme our lore section covers the rise of the First Order, and should be handy knowledge for anyone who wonders where these new villains came from.
-
Welcome to episode 37. In tonight's episode we take a break from pilots to talk about crew cards. There's 40ish unique crew in the conversion kits and we cover them all, so strap in for a full-throttle, adrenaline-charged thrill ride. About crew.

Welcome to Hell of a Pilot, X-wing enthusiasts! This isn't a proper episode, it's just a brief interlude for us to tell you a bit about ourselves and the show. Quite often when we ask people how they came across our show, they tell us they were simply searching for X-wing content and happened to find it. Recently we realised that with Second Edition nearly upon us if the demand for X-wing media increases then listeners looking for something new might find us and decide to give us a try, but not know who we are without going back and listening from the beginning. With these things in mind we decided to record a brief chat to let you know what Hell of a Pilot is, what makes it different from other shows and why you might like it. So if you've just joined us recently and think you might stick around, here's the deal with Hell of a Pilot. Thanks for listening!

Ladies, gentlemen, citizens of the Court of Coruscant, welcome to Hell of a Pilot episode 36.
Join us as Owen, Lachie and friend & special guest Luke Weston ship off to join the Empire! We cover the recently released Imperial conversion kit pilots and their new 2.0 abilities, then move into the lore section for the early life story of scoundrel and Imperial deserter Han Solo. Please note this episode contains SPOILERS for the film Solo as we use the lore section to compare and contrast the events of the film with his storyline in Legends. -
Our theme streak was ended by a new article last week, so in this episode we cover the rest of Lando's Millennium Falcon and the life story of Director Krennic.
(During the episode there's a suggestion of a Reaper build, and I forgot to say you have to equip Twin Ion Engine mkII for it to work. That's important. - Lachie)
We hope you're all enjoying wave 14.

Ladies, gentlemen, members of the Royal Family (we know you're there), welcome to Hell of a Pilot episode 34. We didn't actually record on the day we said we would, and instead spent an Australian national holiday discussing:
Lando's Millennium FalconSome select contents of the Scum conversion kitDroids: what are they, who are they, why are they? -
In the second episode of Blitz in Space, our heroes formulate a plan to get a new ship. They meet an old friend and make a new one, but the Empire is not far behind. Will a simple exchange of goods go smoothly? Are our heroes up to the task of fighting the Empire head on? How many bombs is too many? The answers to these questions and more in the latest episode of our original audio drama.
-
In episode 33 we go into the Rebel conversion kit for 2.0:
Who has better abilities than before?Who has a better dial than before? Why is Nym no longer necessary for the Rebels? How is FFG contolling how the ships in 2.0 fly? This episode's lore section is brought to you by a technicality.

In the first episode of the Hell of a Pilot original audio drama you'll meet Blitz Kordon, a cavalier smuggler out to make a few credits, and TX-15, a tactical droid from the Clone Wars and Blitz's constant companion. All they want is to get their job done and get paid, but Imperial agent extraordinaire, Baron Gundark, is out to get them. How will they get out of this one, and will Lieutenant Tam be ok? Find out before the second exciting episode is released!

In this episode we cover the TIE Reaper and Saw's Renegades, and some of the ways they're being blended into Second Edition. Listen in for a chat about

Here we go. X-wing version 2.0 was announced this week and we weren't willing to wait until our next recording night to talk about it, so we jumped onto Skype to get some initial thoughts together. Join us for a quick dive into
what X-wing 2.0 will meanconversion kitscan you still use your current models (yes, you can)changes to cards and mechanicssemi-digitisation of resourcesother stuffWe've probably left some things out because we were pretty excited but hopefully this will be helpful for you in some way until our next official recording.

Ladies, gentlemen, decent people who don't believe in swearing, welcome to **** of a Pilot episode 31. In light of the responses we got in a recent Facebook poll, we've made a slightly more critical episode than we usually would (but it's balanced nicely and still very 'us'). Join us as we cover:
aspects of the game that bother uswhat the game should bewhy Harpoons are fine (wait, is that right?)what is a negative play experience?a lore section about the IlluminatiStay until the end to learn how you can win a prize in a little competition we're having. Also, yet again, this episode was recorded right before the release of an article that would have provided much better content.
