This week, we reach the conclusion of ANDOR, and the conclusion of our regularly scheduled Han Took Shots First episodes for 2024. On this episode, we welcome a new guest, our friend and local internet muckity-muck, The Classy Alcoholic! In the first half of the episode we discuss DAUGHTER OF FERRIX, in which Maarva dies, setting off a chain of events involving every major character in the series. In the second half of the episode, we get to the season finale with RIX ROAD. Cassian returns to Ferrix for Maarva's funeral, where Dedra Meero and the ISB want to take him in for interrogation. Shit hits the fan when a pre-recorded message from Maarva rallies the locals into a full-scale riot. We also finally learn what exactly it was the prisoners on Narkina 5 were building. We will be back in two weeks, as usual, but we will be kicking off our weekly coverage of the brand new Disney+ show, SKELETON CREW.

In the first half of this week's episode, NOBODY'S LISTENING, Andor begins to suspect something is very awry in the prison on Narkina 5 and his elderly cohort Ulaf suffers a major stroke. A prison doctor is forced to euthanize Ulaf, while revealing to Cassian and Kino Loy the secret of the prison... no one is actually being released, but just transferred to other sectors of the prison when their time is up! Also, Dedra Meero interrogates Bix for information, we discover that Vel is Mon Mothma's cousin and the ISB captures a rebel pilot trying to infiltrate one of their facilities. Then, in the thrilling conclusion to this part of the storyline ONE WAY OUT, Kino decides to help Andor and the other prisoners carry out a full-on uprising and attempt to escape the hellish Narkina 5 prison facility. They fight their way through the prison, but there is a tragic conclusion to the events, despite Andor's successful escape. Meanwhile, Mon Mothma meets with a shady businessman, Davo Sculdun, about trying to hide her financial transactions, but he wants more than she is willing to offer in exchange for it and, finally, we learn of a rebel informant in the ISB, who attempts to back out of his role, but is convinced to soldier on by some damn good speech giving from Luthen.

In the wake of the heist on Aldhani, the Empire takes the opportunity to rewrite laws and clamp down on anyone who opposes their power. Meanwhile, Mon Mothma takes a big chance reaching out to another powerful politician for help with the rebellion while our hero Cassian is imprisoned for six years by an overenthusiastic Shoretrooper. In the second episode, Cassian is hauled off to the sterile environment of the prison Narkina 5, forced to work grueling 12-hour shifts assembling Imperial widgets, with the punishment for poor performance including electrocution via jolts sent through the floors. We also see the return of Forest Whitaker's Saw Gerrera and Bix is arrested by Dedra Meero of the ISB. Shit is heating up!

In the first half of this episode, our hero Cassian must navigate the distrust inherent in being the new kid on campus with a crew of rebels conducting a secret operation to steal the quarterly payroll from an entire Imperial sector. His secret of being a mercenary and not a true believer in the cause is revealed, tensions rise and pasts are uncovered! In the second half, we finally get to the meat of this story arc with the heist itself. The plot thickens with backstabbing, betrayal, action and excitement! Plus, some of the most intense situations we've experienced in the series thus far!
-
First up, episode 3 finds our hero, Cassian Andor, desperately avoiding arrest and finding help from the great Stellan Skarsgård, a mysterious man with deep, unknown connections. The fourth episode sees Cassian being recruited by the Rebellion to help with a dangerous mission to infiltrate an Imperial garrison on a remote planet. With fireworks!

Jack and Derrick are joined once again by Ryan to dicuss the first two episodes of ANDOR! The first, Kassa, focuses on Cassian Andor's reckless search for answers about his past, which leads to him becoming a wanted man and going on the run. The next episode, That Would Be Me, is about Andor's attempt to hide out on the planet Farrax as agents of the Empire begin to close in on him. We're really excited to get into this series leading directly into Rogue One and the original trilogy!

Jack and Derrick reach the finale of Obi-Wan Kenobi, joined this time by their friend Ryan when Obi-Wan finally faces off against his old friend and new enemy Darth Vader! We haven't watched these episodes, so we don't have much of a summary here, but tune in for the conclusion before we dive into the next series in the chronology, Andor!

We dive further into the tale of Obi-Wan Kenobi protecting an annoying and precocious 10-year-old Leia Organa from the Empire! We learn more about the villain, more about what Obi-Wan has been up to and more about the galaxy far, far away.

Jack and Derrick sit down with Whitney to discuss their reactions to and thoughts on the new trailer for Disney's upcoming Star Wars series, SKELETON CREW!

Jack and Derrick begin their journey into Disney+ content of the Star Wars saga with the first two episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi starring Ewan Mcgregor! This series takes place approximately 9 Years BBY, placing it 10 years after Revenge of the Sith and 9 years before A New Hope. We follow the adventure of Obi-Wan Kenobi as he tries to protect Leia from a guy with a spinny lightsaber! Stay tuned for action and adventure (even though a Jedi craves not these things).

Jack and Derrick are joined by their friend Ryan for the second half of our discussion on the next entry in the main saga... SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY! Directed (kinda) by Ron Howard, this film is one of the LEAST successful entries in the Star Wars cinematic saga and has been cited as the reason for the decreased output of theatrical Star Wars properties in recent years. We get the entirely unnecessary origin story of the galaxy's favorite rogue Han Solo in a swashbuckling, train-hopping, drink-swilling prequel to the original trilogy. Ever wonder where Han got his last name? Or how he acquired the Millennium Falcon? Or why Chewie is called Chewie instead of Chewbacca? Neither did we! The second half of this episode will be released on July 24, but if you want the entire episodes of Han Took Shots First, uncut and without ads, you can join the Bad Movies Worse People Patreon at patreon.com/worsepeople for only $3 a month!

Derrick and Jack close out their discussion of the prequel trilogy with arguably the best entry in the franchise. In this film, we leave much of the political chatter and pointless drivel behind to dive into the ACTION! Anakin still spends much time crying with Padme about babies or something. Still, Obi-Wan kicks some major ass, Dooku is unceremoniously murdered and a four-armed lightsaber-wielding robot takes his place. Anakin finally succumbs to the Dark Side because he's a sad boy or something. Also, a bunch of little Jedi shitbirds get wiped the hell out in one of the Star Wars franchise's darkest turns. Join us as we celebrate finally finishing the prequel trilogy!

Sorry this one is a day late, but we got it out as fast as we could considering the circumstances.
We're half way through THE ACOLYTE and the mystery continues to build, but the action hasn't been there to pay it off. Our Jedi heroes (?) travel to the planet of Khofar to save the Wookie Jedi Kelnacca from Mae's wrath but will they be too late? PLUS we finally get a good look at Mae's mysterious Master. Is he a Sith? Is he Qimir? Is he a he? All this and MORE! -
This episode should be covering both episodes 3 and 4 of THE ACOLYTE, but we had a delay due to personal reasons and episode 4 will be later. Hopefully only one day. Thank you for understanding.
This time we dive into the third episode of THE ACOLYTE titled DESTINY. A Rashomon-esque flashback to the childhood of Mae and Osha told from one point of view, we start to see what happened 16 years ago on Brandock to lead us to where we are today. - Visa fler
