Nick isn’t the first tremendously successful youtuber we’ve had on Glad I Asked, with over 1.2 million subs and videos with 28 million, 14 million, 10 million views, you get the point. But he is the first we’ve had on who has grown a channel that large while posting every couple months or so. What’s always inspired me about Nick is that he started creating video essays before they were the norm on YouTube. His videos never go the way that you think they will and one of his videos is one of two YouTube vids that I’ve cried at the end of.
Our conversation is split into two episodes, with the second episode coming out next week, October 24th. We talk a lot about the creative process and how he managed to create a niche for himself, while also not allowing himself fall into a niche. We talk about finding ideas you’re excited about, procrastination, creative invention, work life balance, and how to make sure people actually see your videos.
I hope you enjoy this season's finale and have enjoyed season 1 as a whole!

He’s behind some of the most watched content on the internet - the channel manager, photographer, and producer behind Valkyrae’s videos and co-owner of Fear& with Hasan and Will Neff. We cover a bunch of - unfortunately - super relatable topics like imposter syndrome, self doubt, knowing when to break the rules, and how Marche moved from production assistant to helping Valkyrae run her content empire and being the co-owner of a podcast with nearly 20,000 patrons on patreon and weekly episodes that average over 300,000 views an episode.

This week’s guest is a long time friend of mine, Conner Sullivan!
You might recognize Conner from his YouTube channel as an American living in Germany. After playing football at USC, Conner left to play professional American football and found insane success as a YouTuber experirencing the German culture, which catapulted him into having a TV show overseas. And as his channel was approaching 1 million subs, he stopped posting and deleted his social media.
In our chat today we talk about the negotiation of creativity and business, experiencing your life thru your phone, our rapidly changing culture, and the positives and cost of being a YouTuber.
