SUMMERWEEN MERCHEpisode 1 of Paranormal GamesEpisode 2 of Paranormal GamesToday we’re revisiting a topic that we LOVE; so much so that we’ve done 2 other episodes on it already! Today we’re talking about paranormal games, and the consequences that could come if you open yourself up to the other side without precaution. Like with all of our paranormal game episodes, this is not to entice you to play or encourage any of this. This is simply for education and entertainment purposes. If you are going to play games like these, it is imperative that you know what you’re doing and you take necessary precautions, like prayer and protective rituals. Again, we are not promoting the playing of these games and would honestly prefer it if you didn’t… That being said, after our tea, we’ll be telling you all about The Real Bloody Mary, The Hooded Man, The Hosting Game, The Man in the Field, and One Step Ahead. This week's Tea: Hobbs Tea Company Hawai'i Grown Green TeaShare your stories with us: [email protected] us on Instagram, Facebook, & TikTokYouTubeSpotifyApple Podcasts Check out our PATREONMERCH: available in US onlyOur PO Box:1106 Main StPO Box 576Bastrop, TX 78602Stay haunted, stay curious, and stay tuned for more Ghosteas! 👻🍵Learn more about your ad choices. There is just something about summertime. The warm sun, time spent by the pool or at the beach, vacations, BBQs, and lazy days. For me, there’s a nostalgia to the season that, despite the heat, can bring good vibes and an excitement that is nearly unmatched. It's also the perfect time to start our spooky season celebrations! With the official, unofficial holiday of summerween upon us, we thought it might be a good time to tell ghostly tales set in the summertime. For today’s stories, I combed through our emails for stories that give you just the right amount of chill for a hot summer day! Stories of ghostly phone calls during your summer job at the marina, horrifying discoveries while out on a family hike, an entire family’s visit with a spirit from the past, and much more! So, get your iced tea and s’mores ready and let's celebrate summerween the right way!

It was the evening of September 12, 1952. Several young boys between the ages of 10 and 13 were playing on the lawn of their small town elementary school playground. They were running back and forth, playing a game of football, when 3 of the boys looked up into the sky. A large ball of light was moving across the town above them. They watched as it made its way over to a hill near G. Bailey Fisher’s farm before floating down behind the trees.
One of the boys shouted to their friends that it must be a shooting star and that there might be gold inside. Excited, the boys made plans to head on up to the site and make new discoveries. Together with the mother of 2 of the boys, and an older relative in the national guard, they trekked through the woods and on to something completely unexpected. What they didn’t know as they marched up the hill was that they were about to encounter something so frightening and unexplainable that people would still be talking about it more than 70 years later. Today we’ll be telling you all about what they experienced out on that hill and their encounter with what is known today as The Flatwoods Monster…

We all know the feeling. Pure, unadulterated fear. When that pit begins to form in your stomach and your chest tightens. Your heart is racing and your breath catches in your throat. That chill that washes over your body from the tip of your toes, all the way up to the top of your head. Your hands trembling every cell in your body telling you to get out. That feeling when you can hardly speak as your body decides on its own how it's going to escape whatever danger lies before you. We sometimes get that feeling telling stories here of dark entities and terrifying nightmares. But if you’ve spent much time here with us at Ghosteas, then you know there are plenty of fears that we have between the two of us. One that we share and have talked about countless times is thalassophobia, or a fear of large bodies of water.
Now that the warmer months are upon us, at least for us on this side of the world, I thought it would be appropriate to combine some of our fears – the unknown, the dark, the paranormal, the ocean – and tell stories of hauntings at sea. I’ve gathered several stories from around the web of people who have experienced some unnerving encounters while out on the ocean. We have everything from suspected ghosts, unknown creatures in the depths, aliens above the open waters, and I even threw in a few creepy tales that have nothing to with the paranormal but still gave me that uneasy feeling in my gut. For those of you planning those beach vacations, this is for you…
Also, a huge shoutout to our patrons who helped pick this topic. This option literally blew the rest out of the water this month!

We’ve talked about haunted dolls before, and admittedly, they are creepy. But after researching today’s topic, I can honestly say this might be the most scared I’ve been. There is a doll that just the mention of her name can cause trouble in people’s lives, so beware as you listen today. I may have even been afflicted by the powers of the spirits within this object. But more on that later. This is your warning.
Peggy The Doll, first discovered by paranormal investigators in the UK in 2014, has caused intense dreams, paranormal activity, and even extreme health events for people, and dogs, who have merely looked at her image online. She now resides in Zak Bagan’s Vegas museum, but before she landed there, she’s earned quite the reputation with countless experiences documented by people all over the world. Though she doesn’t exactly look as you’d imagine a haunted doll to look (a la Annabelle movies) she seems to be very powerful, and there is speculation that something very dark and even demonic may be connected to her. As I said, prepare yourself for this episode. This is your warning now. We have decided not to show images of the doll in this episode out of precaution for us and all of our listeners. But still a warning. There have been many many MANY negative reactions by people who have merely seen images of this doll, including severe illness and pet deaths. We don’t know for sure, like with so many things in the paranormal world, whether or not the doll itself has caused all of this, but it has happened with such regularity that we’d be fools not to consider the possibility.

When Latoya Ammons, her mother, and her 3 children moved into their new rental home in Gary Indiana, they had no idea that the next year would be full of paranormal encounters, demonic visitations, a new open case with DCS, and three separate exorcisms! What unfolded before them was so horrifying, you may find yourself wondering if it could be true. The official state documentation written by caseworkers and medical professionals may put those thoughts to rest.

As the sun begins to set, you look around and realize that you’ve stayed out too late. It will be completely dark before you’re able to make it out of the woods. You’ve had this feeling for the last hour or so like you’re being watched, but every time you look up, there isn’t anyone, or anything, nearby. So you gather your things and move quickly to get back to your camp, those eyes, wherever they are, still lingering on you.You only make it a few meters before you hear rustling in the leaves behind you. You freeze. Turning around you see nothing. You breathe a sigh of relief, telling yourself that you’re just tense from the fleeting sunlight and it was probably a lizard or small animal of some kind. You continue walking, but there’s that sound again, a little closer this time. More quickly this time you turn around and scan the area. Still nothing. A nervous laugh escapes your throat involuntarily and you check every tree one last time before picking up the pace to a near jog along the trail out of the forest. But the noise is growing louder and faster, as if it's catching up to you, whatever it is. You turn again, this time catching a glimpse of a shadow ducking behind the tree a short distance from where you are standing. A cold sweat forms on your brow and a pit in your stomach. You’ve heard stories like this before, and you know that it never ends well for those who come face to face with a hidebehind.

If there is one thing I think we can unanimously agree on, it’s that healthcare workers are some of the most amazing people on the planet. They take care of our sick and elderly. They spend hours upon hours doing a sometimes thankless job, dealing with a heavy emotional burden surrounded by tragedy and death. Something else I think we can agree on is that some of their stories associated with the paranormal are insane. So today we are going to take a look at some stories from our listeners who work in healthcare when they’ve come face to face with the entities that haunt the halls of care homes and hospitals.

We are sad that we’re moving out of Appalachia, but I wasn’t quite done with the mountains yet. Several weeks ago, we had a listener write in suggesting we look into the Croke-Patterson mansion in Denver. After hearing their story, I was intrigued! So we’re going to take a trip over to the West and into the Rocky Mountains and talk about the most haunted places in Denver, Colorado. We couldn’t cover everything in one episode, so this one is going to be a 2 parter! Today you'll hear all about the Patterson Inn, Molly Brown House Museum, and the haunted Cheesman Park.
Now, if you want more Appalachia, we did put together a bonus episode on Patreon. It’s haunted roads, the Appalachian version.

We’ve spent the last month talking about all things Appalachia. Undoubtedly, there are some strange and eerie things happening in those mountains. There are many theories about the different kinds of creatures and entities living in the woods and each one of them brings their own unique and frightening tales for us to share. Last week we discussed something called Crawlers, and if you didn’t watch that one, I suggest you check it out because it was horrifying, but one of the theories as to what these creatures could be involved ancient beings living in the caves of Appalachia. That alone interests me. But what if I told you that there may be ancient legend and lore pointing to the existence of such a thing?
Over on Patreon, our supporters chose this topic in our poll, and I was so excited when they did! Because the Moon-Eyed People of the Appalachian Mountains have been talked about for centuries, and some claim that the old Cherokee legend is more than just legend, but truth. And some believe that these beings, whoever or whatever they might be, still exist.

Last summer, in episode 133, listener stories 53, Kharma wrote to us telling us about a chilling experience they had in the summer of 2020. They had seen what they described as a crawler…
Since that time, I have been fascinated by these beings and have had this topic on my list of episodes. I initially believed that crawlers were concentrated around the Appalachia area (hence their place in Appalachia April) and they absolutely sound like something that belongs in these woods, but in doing my research, I have found that they go far beyond those mountains. They have been seen all over North America, and I have several stories for you today that will no doubt give you that same sense of unease as the rest of our topics have this month. So, I guess for this one it turns out to not be totally Appalachia based, but about something that does reside here and gives off that same Appalachia vibe.
In this episode you'll find:
👻the story of the Dover Demon
🍵cave dwelling crawlers in Appalachia and BEYOND
👻talk of a REAL 911 call of a man who may have seen a crawler
🍵horrifying first-hand encounters with PALE CRAWLERS
👻video footage of a crawler (or maybe a skinwalker)
