  • How can you better serve those around you by going deeper and meeting them where they are, one-on-one?

In this episode, Jeff, Jeff, and Jeff discuss:

Understanding your spiritual gifts and stepping out of your comfort zone. The Buying Formula and the power of “Tell me more.”Meeting the unexpected challenges of life head-on - God has orchestrated them from behind the scenes. Staying focused on The One.Giving isn’t Godly unless there is a sacrifice.

    Key Takeaways:

There are times we don’t step forward because we feel underequipped. But there is something about stepping out of your comfort and dramatically lurching forward. You will be amazed at what you can do. Generosity in business begins with those within your organization but does not stop there.Writing a check is great, but generosity can also come in the form of giving your time. There is something tactical and practical in meeting people where they are at. Set goals, think bravely, and write it down. You’ll be amazed at what will show up.

"In any area of influence, we have to be able to go deeper, and I am convinced that people want to share more, they're just not convinced that the people they are talking to want to know more. That’s the idea of ‘Tell me more, let's go deeper on that.’ It's not just a good sales skill - it's a good life skill." — Jeff Shore

About Jeff Shore: Jeff Shore is a contemporary expert in residential sales and sales leadership with over three decades of experience in selling, consulting, speaking, and teaching. Jeff has spoken to thousands of real estate sales professionals from San Francisco to New York, from Alberta to Abu Dhabi.

He is the author of 11 sales books. Tens of thousands of sales professionals watch his weekly Five Minute Sales Training on YouTube.

Jeff is a Certified Speaking Professional through the National Speaker’s Association, and a fellow in the NSA’s Million Dollar Speaker’s Group, comprised of the NSA’s most successful members.

  • Where do you have your priorities and responsibilities? How are you strengthening your family in Christ?

In this episode, Jeff and Terence discuss:

The marketplace as a platform for change and impact for God’s Kindom. Being faithful to God’s callings wherever they take us. Preparing your children to defend their faith no matter their age. Building your platform of consistency around Christ.

    Key Takeaways:

The foundation of the home will impact the nation.Be the family devotional leader of your home - that is the greatest thing you can do in your life. You have more influence in the marketplace than you think you do. People spend the most time at work during the week. It is never too late to start, no matter where you are.

"Be the person to live a life of consistency for Christ. Whether we live, work, play we are who we are." — Terence Chatmon

  • Where have you seen God’s hand in your life to transform your life or others?

In this episode, Jeff, Jeff, Creek, and Sarah discuss:

Transitioning from being a lukewarm Christian living a selfish life to living a God-led generous life.Wrestling with God and letting Him lead you where He wants you to go.Appreciating all things God has given us and understanding where everything comes from. With Jesus, all things are possible so turn it all over to Him.

    Key Takeaways:

Falling apart as a couple is a choice. Focusing on each other and on Jesus in times of struggle will change you and bring you together if you let it.God will show up in the lowest of times and the meekest of areas.Passion grows when you know the purpose behind the profit.Don’t hold on to the stuff - the bitterness and grudges. Give each other grace in all things. There is nothing that feels like giving. You will find peace, satisfaction, and all the feel good emotions when you’re giving.

"We want Jesus at the heart of everything we're doing. We've drank the good water, we've seen the light, we've felt the fire, and we realize that He makes all the right decisions. We want Him at the helm of everything. We put Him at the head of our business, we put Him at the head of our household, we put Him at the head of our finances, He can have it all because I trust Him 100% with His decisions." — Creek Stewart

  • How has God uniquely designed you? How are you using those design gifts?

In this episode, Jeff and Josh discuss:

Josh’s lifetime of learning begins in an immigrant home. Learning alongside and lifelong curiosity. Stewarding God’s resources responsibly. Using your business for impact in God’s kingdom.

    Key Takeaways:

Reading the newspapers (or other publications) from around the world allows you glimpses into cultures and people that you wouldn’t be able to otherwise. As newspapers have gone out of fashion, you can still connect with others through other ways. If you want to live like a king, you have to treat your wife like a queen. If you’re neglecting your family, you’re not living up to your full potential. Lean into your interests and passions - God gave them to you to lead you and allow you to build His kingdom with your talents. As a business owner, there are things you can do to light the path for your team, clients, or network. How you apply gospel principles is unique to you and your business.

"There's just an infinite way that God's designed each of us. So I encourage each person to see how God has uniquely designed you exactly. Let that flourish in your giving, in how you run a company, and lean into that. You don't have to be a cookie cutter, there's more than one path." — Josh Kwan

About Josh Kwan: Josh Kwan is the President of The Gathering, a learning community of philanthropists motivated by their Christian faith to give humbly and steward wisely all the resources God has entrusted to their care. Previously, he was a Co-Founder and Partner at Praxis, a creative engine for redemptive entrepreneurship whose mission is to build ventures, foster community, and create content for equipping Christian innovators, founders, and funders.

Josh served as the Director of International Giving for the David Weekley Family Foundation, where he divided his time between conducting due diligence on innovative social enterprises and helping portfolio organizations scale their impact. He worked as a journalist and was published in The San Jose Mercury News, The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, and Stanford Social Innovation Review. • Is it possible to be a great Christian, a loving husband, and do really well in the marketplace?

In this episode, Jeff, Jeff, and Pete discuss:

The ups and downs of faith after growing up in church. Understanding wealth and keeping your kids' feet on the ground. Pleasing the Lord in all you do. Avoiding complacency

    Key Takeaways:

Looking successful because of your dad, does not lead to happiness. Find a reason to tell your son they don’t need to prove anything and that you are proud of them. Intentionality is the only way to make it work - there is no easy road. There are 31 Proverbs - if you don’t know where to start in the Bible, start on the current day in Proverbs. It is never too late to make peace with those in your life.

"Life balance is not the key. Intentionality and integration are the keys. The only way you can get good at saying no is to know what you’re saying yes to." — Pete Chambers

  • How are you keeping ego at bay and focusing on fearing God?

In this episode, Jeff, Jeff, and Mike discuss:

Building a company by failing your way to success. Leaning into your area of expertise. Leveraging the energy of forward momentum, no matter how small. The important aspects to consider in your exit (especially for those in a family business).

    Key Takeaways:

Building a relationship with Christ is not about your ego….ego is just Edging God Out of your life.Slow down and be intentional about your quiet time with God, your prayer, your scripture study, and your mentorship of others and for yourself. If you want to sell or exit your business in the future, you have to delegate yourself out of the business. Consider joining a peer group for accountability in accomplishing your goals. Peers can be your most powerful tool.

  • How are you boldly incorporating scripture into your life and business?

In this episode, Jeff and Rick discuss:

Incorporating scripture into our day-to-day lives from individual to business. Handling tough situations in the right way. Rick’s transition from a career in the multi-family residence business to working in the Middle East with SRG. The three impacts you can have.

    Key Takeaways:

Do the right thing because it’s the right thing. God will bless. Live your life after God’s manner and you will be making a statement that you will be running your business differently because it’s the right thing to do before the Lord. You don’t need to wait until you get older to be bolder. Get out there, be who God wants you to be, and get out there.

  • Where is your bullseye - the center of your heart, passion, and calling?

In this episode, Jeff and Jake discuss:

Lessons from a childhood around the firepit. Business and opportunities in every stage of life. Serving a God of abundance.Letting God’s lamp light your next step. The importance of setting and holding boundaries with yourself.

    Key Takeaways:

Working with kids and teens is not a 1-week thing. It is 52 weeks out of the year. Giving does not have to be prescriptive. What breaks your heart? Use that. Fundraising isn’t about the money, it’s about the heart of the giving partner. It is spiritual before it is mechanical.Be disciplined without haste. Rhythms of rest are necessary. There is always going to be more work to be done, but never once does the Bible say “Jesus ran.”

"I don't know about you and your 20s, but for me, I wanted a beacon for the next 200 steps. I didn't want a lamp to my feet and a light to my path, right? But the beauty of that is He gives us that lamp and it's just enough light for the next step and the next step and the next step." — Jake Bland

  • Are you dreaming big enough? How are you creating your future with courage, strength, and service?

In this episode, Jeff, Jeff, and Bo discuss:

Surrendering to the Lord. Doing things for something bigger than yourself. Tell your story to change one life. Making the next step with meaning no matter where you’re at now.

    Key Takeaways:

To find real passion and determination, you need to think outside yourself. Serve others and it will fill your soul.Find your courage and jump off the cliff of change. You’ll be amazed at where you can go with God.Strengths are for service, not status. You have strengths, use them to serve. The two most important moments of your life are the moment you are born and the moment you know why. You can have more than one why and you can add more as you grow.

  • Are you willing to listen to and take action on the assignment God has for you today while He writes your story?

In this episode, Jeff, Jeff, Cheryl, and Clair discuss:

The three things every child needs to hear from their dad. Finding faith in yourself and building your relationship with Jesus Christ.Surrounding yourself with Godly men and teaching generational generosity. Donating your time to God and living for the present.

    Key Takeaways:

Commit to work together with your spouse and family. Focus on connection and conversation, not on separation and conflict. There are ways to help others lift themselves, not just give them a handout if you think outside the box. Kids cannot hear you, they can only see you. You are raising God’s children, show them the way to live through your own actions. Stay in relationship with those who have not yet come to Christ. Everything is on God’s timing and your job is to just stay in relationship.

Why Dan’s pizza job was more fulfilling than his high-profile corporate job.Starting your Kingdom work now and not waiting for your transition out.Dan’s mission to scale Kingdom enterprises.Pursuing your dreams, even when they falter.Bad breath is better than no breath.

    Key Takeaways:

Your time and talents often can do more than your money could.Dan’s BHAG: Change the lives of a billion people at the bottom of the pyramid (or the economically disadvantaged) through the delivery of transformational knowledge via mobile technologies by 2035.

"The bottom line is nothing really great comes out of comfort. You have to always be pushing yourself into discomfort in order to really make a big Kingdom impact. You've got to push yourself to be uncomfortable because that's where the greatness comes." — Dan Devine

  • How are you using the closed doors of life to take hold of His opportunities and blessings for you?

In this episode, Jeff, Jeff, Alan, and Ben discuss:

Finding the blessings in the closed doors of life. Intentionality in every aspect of life and business. Modeling servant leadership in your organization to unlock divine potential. Living adventurous stewardship. Living an intentional and integrated life in His image.

    Key Takeaways:

Mentors and relationships are built in regular times and come to life during the struggles. There is value in learning from those who came before usPeople don’t make decisions by watching others make decisions, but rather by actually making the decisions themselves. Focus on gratitude. It will tear down fear and allow you to reset the day and set it up for success and joy.

"When you pour into the way God uniquely made you, and then you look around and see how you come alongside the people that we have an influence on with a heart of gratitude, that unlocks an untapped set of hidden value and helps people live out who God made them to be." — Ben Fischer

  • How are you seeing God’s gifts in your life?

In this episode, Jeff, Jeff, and Greg discuss:

Learning young to show Christian love. The ups and downs of running a family business. Getting involved directly in your giving. Using God’s blessings as a model for the future generations.

    Key Takeaways:

The best family businesses often bring in third-party facilitators to help define roles and expectations clearly which can help them run more smoothly. Leave room for God to work within you and through you. Use meal times for good. This is a time when families can come together, build foundations, and follow after Jesus. The more you can cut your ego out of what you do, the better off you will be. Everything we have and everything we are is because of God. He is good and he blesses us.

  • Where are you putting your intentional focus both at work and in life?

In this episode, Jeff, Jeff, and Don discuss:

Where Don’s passion for building thriving communities with deep connection originates. Generosity and philanthropy is more than just money. Reframing thinking around philanthropy as an organization. Getting clear around values and living them with intentionality. Just getting started with your giving.

    Key Takeaways:

Community change starts with childhood education. Many studies show a direct correlation between the third-grade reading level and later success in life. Where much has been given, much is required. All resources belong to God, including money, talents, time, relationships, and so much more. How are you stewarding His resources? There are opportunities for ministry outside of what you think. 94% of people in rental communities do not have church in their lives. Safety and security come from deep community and relationships.

"We think of living fully as the eight Fs of life: faith, family, friends, freedom, fun, fulfillment, fitness, and finance. We do a lot of work around personal development, helping people get clear, get intentional, about what they want to accomplish in their life and in their family, and giving them the tools, support, resources, training, and space to really focus on those areas besides just their career." — Don Wenner

About Don Wenner: Don Wenner is the Founder and CEO of DLP Capital, a private real estate investment and financial services firm focused on building thriving communities. The firm’s core focus is on investing in, developing, and financing attainable housing for America’s workforces, including multifamily and single-family rental communities, along with investments in outdoor hospitality and RV campgrounds.

He originally formed DLP Capital—standing for “Dream, Live, Prosper”—as a small, residential real estate sales firm in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania, not far from Philadelphia. Within five years, he had expanded the firm to include an investment portfolio of real estate rentals along with property management. Soon after, the firm added real estate brokerage and construction affiliates and had grown to 100+ employees.

During that time, Don Wenner also planted the seeds for more ambitious organizational goals—creating blueprints for building and scaling elite, entrepreneurial organizations for high growth and profits. The culmination of this initiative is DLP Capital’s “Elite Execution System,” which provides the tools and roadmap to help businesses achieve extraordinary growth.

Don attended Drexel University. He resides in St. Augustine, FL and Asheville, NC with his wife and three sons. Don lives his life guided by the verse of “To whom much is given, much will be required,” Luke 12:48. In addition to pursuing his calling of building thriving communities, his passions revolve around his faith, his family, and philanthropy. Don enjoys devouring books, traveling, exercising, and spending time outdoors hiking, walking, biking, playing basketball, pickleball, and coaching his kids’ sports.

  • How are you teaching your children about generosity?

In this episode, Jeff and Nathan discuss:

A global perspective of God’s reach from a young age. Growing up in the Barnhart family with a blended education. What it means to have a community in Christ. Living intentionally with consistency.

    Key Takeaways:

The God of your life is the same God of the world. He is the same worldwide. We are stewards of all God gives us - business, money, children, resources, etc. All we have can be used for His glory. Living a life consistent with scripture will look different for everybody, but it is possible to set your family’s lifestyle around generosity, not consumption. Kids are wildly observant and will pick up on things you never would guess and they will learn from everything you do and don’t do. Take stock of what the Lord has given you. It may not look like what others have, but they are your gifts from God for His glory and to steward in His kingdom.

"Generosity is not these big highlight reel type of occasions - it’s not giving away the company, it's not writing the huge check. Generosity is seeing what you have as a gift from God to bless Him and to bless others." — Nathan Barnhart

In this episode, Jeff, Jim, Jennifer, and Dave discuss:

The gap between the macro change makers and the everyday person. Jennifer and Dave’s Appalachian Trail journey. The healing nature of food and nature. Finding God in the coincidences of our lives.

    Key Takeaways:

Connect with people who have similar goals and purposes. You will be amazed at what can be accomplished together. You can acknowledge your diagnosis and accept its role in your life without allowing it to control who you are and what you are capable of doing. There is a gap between the big organizations and advocacy and what the everyday person needs on the ground. There are so many opportunities to help empower and strengthen the everyday person. Give yourself a moment to breathe and acknowledge the diagnosis, but then reach out for support. There are resources and understanding in these groups that do so much good.

  • How can you celebrate others more in a way that works for you and your community?

In this episode, Jeff, Cale, and Chris discuss:

The false dichotomy between sacred and secular. Nurturing and celebrating generosity. Why an entrepreneur’s greatest asset is their spouse. What generosity can look like in the storms and in the highs of business.

    Key Takeaways:

We are all called to ministry in the roles we are already at in life. Getting your first client is the first emotional hurdle. Once you get past that, everything gets easier. Making and giving is not all that you can do in your vocational life. Virtues are more actionable, aspirational, and more timeless than values. They are almost, universally approved and celebrated.

"What gets celebrated gets reproduced. Nothing becomes part of your culture more than what gets celebrated." — Chris Carneal

About Chris Carneal: Chris Carneal is the Founder and CEO of Booster, the #1 school fundraising company in America. Since 2002, Booster has raised schools over $650 million for local education through its flagship program the Boosterthon Fun Run.

As the son of an educator, Chris created Booster to help schools flourish. It profits schools more than ever, impacts students through fitness and character programming, and saves teachers and administrators valuable time so they can focus on their highest calling—teaching.

  • How can I be a steward of God in my organization?

In this episode, Jeff and Wade discuss:

Seeing God’s hand in our decisions and the blessings of our lives. Stewarding God’s resources in a public company. Weaving Biblical principles into your profession. Understanding your mission.

    Key Takeaways:

There are ways to give stocks to the church, or other charities, and serve God in that way. Giving away stock looks different and is reported different from selling stock - people don’t ask why you’re giving it away, but they do ask why you’re selling. Never let yourself be defined by your job - that is not who you are, it is what you do. The deeper you go into God’s word, the more you will love it and want to live it.

  • Have you ever considered taking your employees on a mission trip?

In this episode, Jeff, Jeff, and Peter discuss:

The history of HOPE International. Taking employees and family members on mission and vision trips. Being generous in experience not just finances. Getting the most out of your international travel experiences.

    Key Takeaways:

Bringing your team into your mission will bring greater engagement and job satisfaction. With a greater perspective, the stresses and challenges of your life will seem much less important and difficult than before your mission trip. Important work needs to happen before and after the trip, not just during the trip. There are more similarities than differences between the people of the world. We are all neighbors, whether across the street or across the world.

"Just try it! See what happens. Tell me if there is not more joy, more life, more meaning when you come back. We are designed by our Creator for meaning and purpose. A life that is lived inwardly is not a life that is lived to the fullest." — Peter Greer
