Was this an interesting series or what...The Padres found themselves down three in the tenth on Monday but came back to win. The Nationals didn't like Jurickson Profar's celebration but it only helped fuel San Diego to another win on Tuesday. Why was Jesse Winker getting into it with a 66-year-old Padres fan after just getting walked off? Was Keibert Ruiz right to get into Profar's face? Davey Martinez thinks was a good message to send. Good for one of the teams--not sure it was his though. Did MacKenzie Gore mean to hit Jurickson? Oh and Profar hit a grand slam to take game two out of reach. After all of this, Dylan Cease pitched in the series finale on Wednesday and got some help from his catcher.

Reaction to the Padres series win vs. the Brewers in San Diego. Jake Cronenworth walked it off in game one after the bullpen almost had the game slip away--the third consecutive home walk-off win for the Padres at the time. The next night he had five hits including a homer and the go-ahead single through the left side. Fernando Tatis Jr. and Jurickson Profar left the game though and Luis Campusano would go on the IL. Things got interesting late on Saturday and Michael King started in the final game. We've reached the halfway point in the season. What do fans think of this team so far? Reaction to the Padres getting swept by the Mets. Matt Waldron pitched well again on Friday but didn't get enough run support. Jackson Merrill homered for the fourth time in three games on Saturday but that was again the only run scored by the offense. Manny Machado was a big topic of discussion over the weekend after he resumed playing at third base despite not seeming to be healthy. Reaction to the Padres series split vs. Arizona in San Diego. They had a five-game losing streak going into Friday night so things needed to turn around offensively and they sure did the next two games in a big way. Ha-Seong Kim, Jake Cronenworth, Kyle Higashioka, Jurickson Profar and Fernando Tatis Jr. all homered on either Friday and/or Saturday. Reaction to the Padres visit to Anaheim. Matt Waldron continues to be fantastic but the offense didn't do enough to win game one (same thing for game two with Adam Mazur making his big league debut). Per Kevin Acee, this is the first time in franchise history that the Padres have lost three straight games in which their starting pitcher went at least six innings and gave up no more than one run. Dylan Cease pitched in the finale and Manny Machado had to exit after beating out a double play ball. Plus, we have a Joe Musgrove update and Matt Kemp had some dumb comments about being in San Diego.

Reaction to the Padres series loss vs. the Yankees at Petco Park. It was a Home Run Derby in game one with Yu Darvish on the mound, as Soto, Judge and Stanton all homered off of him and none of them were cheapies. The offense continued to struggle against lefties and the big duo of Tatis and Machado aren't providing enough power right now compared to other notable duos. Dylan Cease and Joe Musgrove pitched the two weekend games and San Diego was able to avoid the sweep.

In game two, Jurickson Profar was going to be the hero until the bullpen couldn't keep the lead. Was Mike Shildt at fault for some of the decisions? Reaction to the Padres series win vs. the Reds. The losing streak increased to five games on Monday night, as San Diego was dominated by Nick Lodolo. Yu Darvish returned on Tuesday and the offense gave him some run support. Mike Shildt made a courageous decision in game two that led to a big inning.
