Reaction to the Padres series win in Phoenix over the D-backs! You may have heard there was a big acquisition right before the series began and he arrived in time for game two on Saturday. Luis Arraez couldn't have started off his Padres tenure in a better way, becoming the first player with a four-hit game in their debut in franchise history (oh, and the offense scored 13 runs too). Reaction to the Padres series win vs. the Reds. The losing streak increased to five games on Monday night, as San Diego was dominated by Nick Lodolo. Yu Darvish returned on Tuesday and the offense gave him some run support. Mike Shildt made a courageous decision in game two that led to a big inning. Joe Musgrove bounced back in the series finale before Jake Cronenworth hit a much-needed granny for the win. Oh and Brian Kenny might be insane.

Reaction to the Padres series disappointing series vs. the Phillies at Petco Park. Joe Musgrove hasn't looked very good this season and he took the Padres out of the game in the series opener. Manny Machado is back and not just in the lineup but at the hot corner as well. Dylan Cease couldn't match Ranger Suarez on Saturday and Mike Shildt finally made a change in the leadoff spot on Sunday with Xander Bogaerts still in the lineup.

Ben Fadden gives you his thoughts on the San Diego Padres wild series against the Chicago Cubs. What mainly made this series wild was game one on Monday night, as you have to know by now that the Padres were down 8-0 but still ended up finding a way to win it. So much for that being the turning point though because the offense was quiet in game two and some homers were hit by Chicago. The Padres faced the Giants for the second time in the last week or so and this time a split wasn't possible with the three-game series. Dylan Cease gave San Diego his first quality start of the year but it went to waste, as the offense failed to come through enough when they had the chances. Michael King pitched great in game two and Matt Waldron did his job on Sunday but it ended up not mattering when all things were said and done. Onto the Cubs series back at home.

Matt Waldron wasn't good enough in game one but Yu Darvish provided the Padres with the first seven inning outing of the season...it still wasn't good enough. Mike Shildt's lineup construction was interesting in the series finale. Plus, the Padres reportedly have showed interest in Luis Arraez and an interesting piece came out about former Padre Juan Soto.

The Padres resumed their season in San Diego this weekend against Bob Melvin's Giants. As discussed on Thursday they had a fun home opener win but stumbled in the next two games. The offense showed up though early to earn the split on Sunday.
