It’s often used in classroom settings to get students excited about learning and increase their engagement in the subject matter. By now, we all know that Gamification can help children learn by making it more engaging and fun for them. But exactly “how” does this happen and how can we make sure it serves it’s intended purpose?
Gamification in education has been around for a while now. It was first introduced as an idea in 2006, but it was not until 2010 that it took off. There are many ways of gamifying education, but the most popular one is through the use of points, badges, levels and leaderboards.
Gamification in education is not just about fun and games.
