167 - Should you weigh yourself the day after vacation?
It's a question I hear often, and it's one I'm asking myself as I prepare for a trip to Toronto to spend time with my daughter.
In this episode, I share the thought process behind my own decision, along with some practical things that influence the number on the scale after travel, including dehydration, sodium, sleep loss, and water retention.
We'll also talk about the mindset side of the conversation because what the scale says is often less important than what we make it mean.
You'll learn when weighing yourself right away can be helpful, when waiting a few days may be the better choice, and how to avoid turning one number into a reason to give up on yourself.
By the end of this episode, you'll have a clearer understanding of how to approach the scale after vacation, how to get back into your healthy routine without drama, and how to stay focused on the bigger picture of your health.
If you're looking for support, accountability, and a healthier approach to weight loss this summer, I'd love to invite you to book a complimentary consult.

166 - Have you ever noticed that many of the things you're most proud of required effort, commitment, patience, and growth?
Yet when it comes to ourselves, we often think self-love should feel easy.
In this episode, Clarenda challenges that idea and offers a different perspective. One that connects self-love with self-respect, self-honouring, and a willingness to grow into the person you want to become.
From weight loss and healthy aging to burnout and personal growth, this conversation explores what it means to care about yourself deeply enough to make choices that support your future, even when those choices aren't always the easiest ones.
You'll hear personal stories, coaching insights, and practical examples that will help you reflect on your own habits, patterns, and relationship with yourself.
If you've ever found yourself waiting for the perfect time to make a change, wondering why you know what to do but aren't doing it, or feeling stuck between where you are and where you want to be, this episode is for you.
And before you go, Clarenda shares a simple rewiring exercise you can begin using right away to help your brain focus on what you'll gain by moving forward instead of what you might lose.

In this episode, I share 7 powerful ways to support your health, energy, mindset, and well-being that go far beyond massages and bubble baths.
We'll talk about things like protecting your sleep, building support, stepping outside your comfort zone, focusing on what you can control, solving root problems, and recognizing when your nervous system needs attention.

164 - Many women don’t actually enjoy the ice cream, brownie, or summer treat nearly as much as they thought they would because their brain is arguing with them the entire time.
In this episode, Clarenda talks about the mental spiral that often follows food guilt and why the real exhaustion is often coming from the noise in our mind, not the food itself.
Inside this conversation:
• why summer can feel defeating when you’re trying to lose weight
• how “I already blew it” thinking creates more urges
• the emotional side of overeating and overthinking
• why all-or-nothing thinking keeps women stuck
• practical ways to pause before the spiral gains momentumThis episode will help you feel more aware, more empowered, and less emotionally drained around food and summer socializing.

163 - Summer has a way of slowly pulling women away from the habits that help them feel their best. Less structure, more social events, emotional eating, exhaustion, “I don’t feel like cooking” days, and eventually the feeling of needing to “get back on track” again.
In Episode 163: Enjoy Summer Without Starting Over in September, Clarenda talks about the mental and emotional side of summer health habits, including nervous system overload, self-trust, “micro quits,” emotional eating, and realistic ways to enjoy summer without falling into the all-or-nothing spiral.
This episode also explores why planning for your real days, not just your ideal days, can completely change how you feel physically and mentally by fall.
If you’ve been feeling stuck between wanting to enjoy summer and wanting to feel better in your mind and body too, this conversation will likely resonate.

162 - When you’re the one everyone leans on, it’s easy to slowly disappear from your own priority list.
In Episode 162 of the Feel Light Mind & Body Podcast, I sit down with Registered Nurse, Caregiving Consultant, and Care Navigator Karen Lake for an honest conversation about caregiving, burnout, emotional overload, and the pressure so many women quietly carry.
We talk about:
• caregiver burnout and chronic stress
• decision fatigue and mental overload
• resentment, guilt, and family dynamics
• hypervigilance and nervous system exhaustion
• boundaries and asking for help
• practical ways to nurture yourself without adding more pressureKaren also shares what she’s learned from years of supporting caregivers and families through dementia, illness, and major life transitions.
Everyone will benefit from this episode because we’ve either been through it, going through it, or know someone who is experiencing the overwhelm (and often isolated feeling).

161 - Have you noticed how your body feels when your mind won’t settle?
Tense, a drop in energy, and the strain of the mental back-and-forth…
In this episode, I talk about how ongoing worry affects your body, not just your thoughts. When your system stays on alert, it can influence your sleep, digestion, energy, and even your ability to follow through on the things you care about.
I also share why this feels more intense right now. We’re taking in more information than ever, and it keeps your brain engaged in a way that makes it harder to switch off.
You’ll hear simple ways to create space so your system can settle, and how to shift your thinking in a way that feels more realistic, not forced.
We also look at how small actions help rebuild momentum, and why support can make a bigger difference than trying to figure everything out on your own.
If your mind has been busy and your body feels it, this will give you a better understanding of what’s happening and what you can start doing about it.
And if you’ve been stuck in that place of thinking about something without moving forward, I’m hosting a workshop called Out Of The Miserable Maybe on Saturday afternoon, May 30th.
It’s designed to help you get out of that cycle and take action in a way that feels doable and empowered.
You can join me in person or online, and I’m keeping the group small so you can be supported through your own situation.

160 - You know that feeling when you’ve been doing so well… and then you “mess up”?
Doubt creeps in and you start wondering if you’ll ever be able to get the pounds off. You might even think, “Maybe it’s just not possible for me at this age and stage of life.” That can feel discouraging.
In this episode, I share a client conversation that highlights a common pattern: wanting to move forward, but also wanting doubt to disappear first.
You’ll hear how to take action while doubt is still there, how to use it as a check-in instead of fighting it, and why working with your mind leads to more consistent follow-through.
We also touch on decision fatigue, planning ahead, and how your brain and nervous system influence your choices in the moment, especially around food and habits.
What you’ll take from this episode:
A different way to approach doubt so it doesn’t delay your progressA simple way to reduce daily decision fatigueMore clarity around how to build self-trust over timeNext Steps:
If you’re tired of second-guessing yourself and want a clear, simple way to move forward, book a complimentary 20-minute consult.

159 - What happens after the food noise quiets down?
I focus on the part that tends to get overlooked when it comes to GLP-1s and weight loss in general. Because while appetite and cravings can change… the moments that used to lead you to food are still there: that end-of-day feeling, the stress that lingers, that “I just want something” pull.
We talk about why those patterns don’t automatically go away, and what actually needs to shift so results last.
You’ll learn:
Why knowing what to do isn’t usually the issueWhat’s really happening when you keep going back to the same habitsHow identity plays into weight loss more than most people realizeWhat to do in those in-between moments when you’re not physically hungryHow to start handling urges without trying to eliminate themThis applies whether you’re on a GLP-1, thinking about it, or not considering it at all.
If you’re feeling stuck in indecision…

158 - Food noise isn’t just about hunger. It’s the ongoing conversation in your mind around food… the pull, the back and forth, and the mental drain that comes with it.
In this episode, I take a closer look at what’s really driving that experience and how GLP-1 medications are changing the conversation around weight loss.
You’ll hear a balanced perspective on:
Why food noise can feel so strong (especially at certain times of day)What GLP-1s are doing in the body and brainWhy many people feel relief when the noise quiets downAnd what still needs to be addressed for long-term successIf you’ve been asking yourself, “Should I try this?” or wondering what happens after the weight comes off, this episode will help you think it through in a more grounded way.
Because this isn’t just about losing weight. It’s about understanding your patterns so you can move forward without feeling like you’re starting over.

156 - Spring is often associated with cleaning out closets and tackling home projects. But before organizing your physical space, what if you paused to reset something even more important…your energy?
In this episode, Clarenda shares three questions that can help you recognize what may be draining your energy and what could restore it. Many capable women are working hard in many areas of life yet still feel mentally tired, stuck in stress eating habits, or frustrated with their energy and weight.
Often the issue is unnoticed mental clutter, lingering decisions, and goals that aren’t truly aligned with what would make the biggest impact.
In this episode you’ll discover:
1. How unfinished tasks and decisions create hidden “energy leaks”
2. A simple way to notice the thoughts draining your energy
3. Why your daily energy patterns matter more than you may realize
4. How identifying one true “needle-mover” can create a ripple effect in your health and confidenceIf you’d like support identifying your biggest energy drain or deciding what your needle-mover could be for this season, you’re invited to book a complimentary 20-minute consult.

155 - What if the thing you’re most afraid of… is actually the doorway to your best version yet?
In this episode, I talk about a concept called “Failure Gold” - the insight and growth that only becomes available after taking imperfect action.
Many of the women I work with aren’t lacking information. They’re capable. They’ve read the books. Listened to the podcasts. Tried the plans. What holds them back isn’t a lack of knowledge, it’s the fear of failing again.
So instead of taking action, they hesitate. They wait until they feel more ready. More certain. More confident. But confidence doesn’t come before action. It comes from evaluating what happened after action.
In this conversation, we explore:
Why copying someone else’s plan often leads to frustrationHow your brain interprets failure as a threatWhy procrastination feels relieving in the moment but heavy long termWhat it looks like to evaluate instead of judge yourselfHow small, imperfect action builds momentum and self-trustWhat didn’t work isn’t proof that you can’t succeed. It’s feedback about how your unique mind, body, stress response, and habits operate. And when you’re willing to slow down and look at that feedback, instead of running from it, you begin to move forward with more clarity and less emotional drama.
This episode will help you shift from:
“I failed again.”
to
“What value can I extract from this learning?”If you’re ready to stop avoiding and start learning, I offer complimentary 20-minute conversations.

153 - Chronic inflammation often isn’t obvious. It builds quietly over time and can influence how your body feels in ways that don’t always make sense at first.
In this episode of the Feel Light Mind & Body podcast, Clarenda explores chronic inflammation from a whole-body perspective. Rather than focusing on symptoms alone, the conversation looks at how inflammation develops, what tends to drive it, and how it interacts with the nervous system, hormones, metabolism, and immune response, particularly in midlife.
This episode is for women who are noticing patterns - changes in energy, sleep, weight, or overall resilience - and want a clearer understanding of what may be happening beneath the surface.
You’ll be guided through:
why stress responses can feel different over timehow sleep, energy, and weight often influence one anotherwhy managing symptoms alone rarely brings lasting changeThe focus isn’t on perfection or pushing harder. 152 - If you’re a woman over 40 who feels exhausted, overwhelmed, or stuck in “I’ll deal with it later” mode, this episode offers clarity and relief.
In Episode 152 of the Feel Light Mind & Body podcast, Clarenda Price explains why overriding your body’s signals leads to burnout, weight gain, poor sleep, and low energy, and why the answer isn’t more discipline or force.
You’ll learn how stress and biology influence decision-making, why resistance is often protective rather than lazy, and how choosing your “hard” intentionally can prevent the harder consequences that build over time.
This episode focuses on awareness, nervous system regulation, and values-based decisions that support real life, not perfection.
You’ll walk away with:
1. A better understanding of how chronic stress affects your body and energy

151 - Some of the biggest drains on your energy don’t come from being busy or lacking discipline. They come from emotional patterns you were never taught how to recognize or work with.

This conversation is especially relevant for busy, successful women over 40 who know what to do, yet still feel drained, overwhelmed, or stuck during challenging seasons of life. Clarenda shares real client examples and science-based insights to explain why willpower isn’t the problem, and why emotional awareness and nervous system regulation are essential for lasting change.
