Professional beekeeper, Matthew South, explains what they do instead, and how they do it, in this exclusive clip of this week's new Fascinating episode: Bees, Mead and Honeymoons.
Before I set foot in a posh swamp in Myrtle Beach, I didn't realize just how much I didn't know about bees, mead, or the origin of the word, "honeymoon."
On this week's episode of Fascinating with Sasha Tobago, streaming now, we're hanging out with Matthew South, a professional beekeeper in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, who knows his way around some honey, some mead, and some bees.

Traditionally, amongst native Hawaiians, sharks are revered.
Yet the Hawaiian shark god, Nanaue, is feared. This poem, penned by Sasha Tobago, explains why that is.
Sasha Note: Years ago, while working on my documentary, ‘Hawaii: Adventure Will Follow,’ I learned about Nanaue. Initially, I penned this poem as the documentary’s opening sequence. This poetic ‘darling’ got cut during the editing process, but the haunting beauty of its words lives on.
