Welcome to the podcast “The Stories of Modern Kazakh Prose.” In this podcast, we will be retelling selected stories from 20th-century Kazakh literature, which was born out of—and transformed—the unique oral traditions that historically preserved Kazakhstan’s rich heritage of images, narratives, and poems. Contemporary authors—from Zhussipbek Aimautov and Magzhan Zhumabaev to Mukhtar Auezov, Olzhas Suleimenov, and Anuar Alimzhanov—have created prose that defines the modern Kazakh nation. With this podcast, we hope to open up their world to a wider audience.

Sense and Sensibility is the story of the two Dashwood sisters, who embody the conflict between the oppressive nature of “civilized” society and the human desire for romantic passion. Elinor is cautious and unassuming about sentimental matters, while Marianne is wild and passionate, falling hopelessly in love with Mr Willoughby. But the lessons in life and romance see the two characters develop and change, with sense and sensibility needing to be compromised as a matter of survival.
Austen’s first published work, the novel has been read as an autobiographical reflection of her relationship with her own sister Cassandra. Against the backdrop of a fragile social context, Jane Austen creates a romantic masterpiece of raw and intense quality. -

About:
It's a story about a young man named Leon who is poor and despised by everyone his girlfriend left him but he turns out to be the successor to a wealthy and mysterious family in the United States. He must undergo a series of trials in order to inherit his family's wealth, and his father has trained him in a variety of skills and abilities to prepare him for this challenge. The novel appears to be a blend of betrayal, romance, fate, young adult, revenge, and billionaire themes, set in the urban environment of Oregon. It sounds like an interesting and potentially complex story, with themes of family dynamics, personal growth, and perhaps intrigue and conflict. -

Do uší vám rozprávajú:
Jana Hlatká - hlavná redaktorka, riadi proces prípravy a výroby kníh
Jakub Uhlík - pravá ruka hlavnej redaktorky
a občas Marek Markuš - predseda predstavenstva Porta libri -
