  • When new entrepreneurs are building their brand, they often ask us which is better: Amazon or Shopify? Both platforms have pros and cons, but to best take advantage of the marketplace, you have to be honest about your current business situation. By understanding your current outreach, needs and goals, you can choose the platform that aligns your entrepreneurial endeavors with the best e-commerce opportunities.

On this episode of E-Com to Everyone, Ignacio talks about the pros and cons of both Amazon and Shopify. He breaks down the main differences between the two and helps new entrepreneurs navigate their online potential for earnings and exposure. Ignacio brings awareness to marketplace-specific topics such as:

    ● Generating traffic on your Shopify site vs established Amazon traffic

    ● Maintaining active consumer traffic rather than “window shoppers”

    ● Leveraging Shopify if you are an influencer or have already established an online presence ● Using Amazon FBA to ease your shipping workload

    ● Using Amazon as an additional marketplace to your established website or shop

Both Amazon and Shopify can potentially help or hinder new entrepreneurs. And that’s why you must take time to analyze your own business presence and outreach. By being realistic about your current professional status, you can make an e-commerce choice that can help save on marketing and gain on sales.

  • Iggy sits down to speak with Ray Bueno about credit - they touch on topics related to personal and business credit. We learn about the benefits of business credit cards and how your personal credit score might be affected from your business' credit performance.

    About Ray Bueno

In 2016, shortly after his time in the Marine Corps, Ray Bueno was taken advantage of by phony debt collectors. After paying more than $3,850 to the phony debt collectors, who falsely promised that his credit would improve after the debt was resolved, Ray did more research on debt collection and found out that this company was in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Because the company was not legitimate, he filed a lawsuit with the help of Daniel Tam, from Tam Law Group, and was fortunate enough to win his money back. He realized that this has probably happened, or could happen to others as well. Ray decided to make a video about his experience on his YouTube channel, Keeping it Real with Credit, titled "Never Ever Pay Collections'' and shared his thoughts on how consumers should be more cautious when communicating with debt collectors. He has created educational videos, including information on how collection agencies operate, how to dispute, the rights you have as a consumer, and the laws that protect you so that people can be equipped with the knowledge of how they should handle their debts and their credit.

  • Amazon automation is like transportation. You can go from Point A to Point B by driving, taking the bus, or taking an Uber. In the same way, you can use Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA), Fulfilled by Merchant (FBM), or Dropshipping to source a product and get it to the end-user. Today, we have Vlad on the show to discuss the difference between Walmart Automation and Amazon Automation. We learn about the important distinctions between the two and how one might be more profitable than the other.

As dropshipping evolved, because other large retailers started to sell online, more people flocked to Amazon to sell products at a higher price for a profit. At the time, there was high risk and high reward for Amazon store operators who had the assumption that dropshipping would never fail.

Amazon's platform does the 'heavy lifting,' it's able to generate over a billion users in traffic with high intent who are ready to purchase a product. As Amazon evolved, so did its policies and regulations which impacted the way Amazon stores operated. Specifically, it cracked down on Retail Arbitrage and started to deactivate stores because of these violations. When Walmart opened up its e-commerce platforms, previous Amazon store owners, who leveraged Retail Arbitrage, thought they could use this same automation system.

As the pandemic shocked the world, more people paid careful attention to their budgets and purchases. So, when they spent extra time shopping for the lowest price, dropshipping-based stores started to see more returns because customers started to shop around on other large retailer's e-commerce sites. Eventually, dropshipping because a high-risk, low reward method.

You have to be a nimble store owner and operated because you need to be able to adapt to the platform as it changes - and you need to do it the right way. Automation isn’t simple, there are pros and cons to different methods. For our business, we build, manage and scale Amazon digital storefronts in a way that hasn't been done before.
