It was a somber start to the show as we dissected Brett's short-lived appearance for Coleambally on Saturday as part of the Carlton Draft...he only managed to stay on the park for five minutes! Yes my beautiful friends this week on Dyl & Friends, we’ve got one of my all-time favourite guests, Paul Taylor.
Paul’s genuinely lived about a thousand lives and he’s only just warming up. He’s a former British Navy Aircrew Officer turned Neuroscientist, Physiologist, and Nutritionist, and he’s now completing a PhD in Applied Psychology. Seriously impressive.
We spoke about his wild time in the military, including some hectic moments as a helicopter search and rescue crewman, and his experience in resistance-to-interrogation training (it's as full on as it sounds).
Paul has spent decades obsessed with one thing: human performance. From flying missions in high-pressure environments to helping the Australian Military build stress-resilient soldiers, his work is all about training the brain and body to thrive under pressure.
In this episode, we dive into the science of stress, resilience, habits, cold exposure, breathwork, leadership, sleep, and why most of us are getting modern life completely backwards.
I rarely listen to my own voice but I've already had a second go at this episode. It was seriously GOOOOD. Enjoy xx

Yesss welcome back to another weekend preview Faffers!
For the third ep in a row we were lucky enough to be joined by a special guest, with one of Brett's former teammates Adam Pattison joining the show in place of Mick. We covered plenty of ground in this ep, and kicked it off by discussing some of the boys antics at Richmond in the mid 2000s.
Once we got going, we previewed all of the upcoming round 14 AFL action before we were joined by a former AFL legend (who stole Dyl's job!) as well as a 42 game Carlton star.

Kate is a trailblazer of AFLW. She played in the inaugural AFLW season, making history while navigating the intense pressure and personal sacrifices that came with it, including missing her sister’s wedding to play in the very first Grand Final.
In this episode, Kate opens up about the mental health challenges of being in and out of the team, the emotional toll of feeling discarded by coaches, and the impact of being diagnosed with ADHD.
She also dives deep into her media career, discussing what it’s really like commentating footy, and the complicated reality of critiquing former teammates and friends live on air.

Yesssss welcome back Faffers!
Brett was unavailable for this episode, but it was still a huge show as we are joined by the one and only Tom Hawkins following his game for Beaufort as part of the 2025 Carlton Draft.
Mick, Dyl and Tom discussed all the highs and lows from Tom's 359 AFL career which included 3 premierships as well as 2009 NAB Cup win. The boys had plenty of laughs as we reminisced on some of Tom's rogue teammates from back in the day before we previewed all of the round 13 AFL matches.

Mitch is a premiership player, club leader, and one of the most consistent performers of the past decade. We chat about his role as one of the senior figures at Geelong, his work with the club’s academy, and how much the place has changed since he first walked through the doors.
He reflects on those early years playing alongside legends like Joel Selwood, Tom Hawkins and Gary Ablett Jnr - and what he’s learned from being part of a club culture that’s remained rock solid for so long.
We also dive into the mental side of footy, navigating form and injuries, and how Mitch has evolved both on and off the field over the years.
Away from the game, Mitch is a husband and father of four. We chat about the challenges of balancing elite footy with family life, the shift in mindset that’s come with experience, and the importance of simply enjoying the game for what it is.

Yesssss, it’s that time of the week again!
The boys — especially Mick — were up and about for this episode after the Roo boys notched their second win of the season. This week on Dyl & Friends I'm joined by Ex-TOU officer, Tyler Robinson. Tyler is a former Tactical Operations Unit officer, breacher, was a part of the riot squad, bike patrol… he’s pretty much done it all in the force.
We chat about what life’s actually like inside the job – the pressure, the adrenaline, and the mateship that keeps you going. Tyler opens up about his time in general duties, moving into TOU, and how things started to take a toll mentally.
He speaks honestly about developing PTSD, feeling let down by the system, and eventually hitting a point where he knew he had to get help. It's raw, real, and a conversation that needs to be heard.
