  • Welcome to another episode of the Doomloop Dispatch, the news show covering the worst parts of the San Francisco Bay Area. In this episode, Kevin and Scot discuss the books that contributed to their radicalization. It’s an evergreen episode because these books will always be important. Also, sorry about Kevin’s brainfart when he discussed The Fire Next Time – he couldn’t remember what the second essay was about.

  • Welcome to another episode of the Doomloop Dispatch, the news show covering the worst parts of the San Francisco Bay Area. In this episode, Kevin and Scot speak with Betty Galbadon from East Bay Alliance for a Sustainable Economy (EBASE). She breaks down how a new Concord City Council member is trying to undo the rent control ordinance that started last year. After being on the council for a month, he wants to turnover a life-saving measure that took 8 years to pass. It’s clear this is just landlords, both local and statewide, sending a message. We get into the impact of losing the measure and how we can fight for it.

“San Carlos Airport is the only general aviation airport in the Bay Area with a contracted tower staff, said Alessandro Franco, owner of the San Carlos Flight Center flight school.

The FAA announced Thursday that their contract with Serco was ending on Friday and they had awarded a new contract to Robinson Aviation, a company that specializes in air traffic control. However, their controllers rejected their job offers after the company refused to adjust their pay to account for higher living costs in the Bay Area.

“To maintain the continuity of air traffic control services at San Carlos Airport, we are extending the prior service provider, Serco, for 60 days,” the FAA said in a statement to the Bay Area News Group.

  • Welcome to the Doomloop Dispatch, the news show covering the worst parts of the San Francisco Bay Area. With the election coming next Tuesday, we thought we'd dedicate an episode to Prop D, an insidious attempt by the wealthy to take over San Francisco politics. It's such a brazen plan they made a Power Point outlining their entire plan and this is a big part of it. On the show are Doug Engmann, a former president of the San Francisco Planning Commission who's been active in San Francisco politics for over 50 years; and Jeremy Mack of the Phoenix Project, a non-profit researching the connection between the rich and political movements in San Francisco. We get into the real purpose of Prop D, the consequences regular folks will face if it passes and how this isn't even the first time San Francisco has seen a movement like this.
