Avsnitt

  • As a topic that keeps resurfacing, we're replaying part of Episode 67, which focuses on workplace inconsistencies and how to reduce and eliminate them. Whether it's inconsistencies within the employee handbook, enforcement of policies and procedures, or inconsistency with getting work done at the time, quality, and attention expected and for the intended purpose—inconsistency unravels the fabric of relationships (professional and personal).

Inconsistency causes a breakdown in trust. Trust is built on consistency.

We share two real-life workplace examples of two employees facing work environments and managers who are inconsistent. In one scenario, we examine and address inconsistent training and policies. In a second scenario, we examine and address a manager's inconsistent nature and inconsistent follow-through, techniques, practices, and more.

We share suggestions on how to handle these, similar, and other issues in your workplace. We address some management areas where senior leaders need to pay close attention, and we share a list of workplace "no-nos" where inconsistency rears its ugly head and bites you.

  • This is the FINAL episode of this multi-part series on "How to Start a Business" [or revamp an established one]. If you have followed along throughout this series, we hope you have found each episode informative and helpful.

Episode 100 will walk you through the first and final steps to launch your business. We'll discuss the various legal structures of a business, how to select a unique name, how to set up your business bank account and obtain the necessary licenses and permits, and how to build your team from scratch. Since we spent the past several weeks learning and creating the various elements that make up our business plan, we will examine the different types of business plans and provide you with tips on which plans to use based on certain circumstances and needs.

We're ending this series where most people start their business because often people romanticize this part, get carried away in the clouds, and then get blindsided by the required heavy lifting — all of which we covered in Parts 1 through 12 of this series. Hopefully, we brought some order to your chaos and made sense of the madness you were surrounded with.

If you're ready to rock and roll with us through this final stretch, grab your snacks and something to take notes with, and then press the play button!

  • In today's episode, we focus our attention on how we spend our time. We examine the distractions in life, the choices we make to be distracted, and the excuses we make for not getting things done because we were distracted. We discuss the traps of blaming others for being distractions when the truth is, we choose to be distracted and to allow them to steer our time rather than claim dominion over our experiences. Listen in to hear more about being intentional with your time and the steps you can take to start, fill, and end your day with meaningful activities that lead to desired outcomes.

And, of course, our show is not complete without our Business Shout-Out segment.

  • There’s a difference between helping and enabling. We know it. We say it. But somehow, some way, we find ourselves in a trap, a big ole thorny pit called enablement. In today's episode, we're examining the difference between helping and enabling and how to set healthy boundaries and rules of engagement, to build healthier relationships with the people we want to see succeed and thrive.

In this episode, we’re not going to speak about any specific behaviors, such as those associated with addiction and addicts. We’ll speak to you, the one who is doing the enabling. We’re focusing on you and your choices to enable the behavior. This isn't about shame or guilt.
It's about us taking responsibility, being accountable for what we say and do, and holding others accountable.

Let's discuss the hamster wheel you have created and keep it in motion. Let's talk about what happens when you stand in the gap and keep an adult from taking responsibility. This episode examines various examples of how this affects money management, household responsibilities, work duties, parenting, and more.

When do you go from helper to enabler? We discuss that in this episode.

Do you know there's love in the word "No," and sometimes there's more love in "No" than "Yes"? Listen in to hear how to lovingly say no and set healthy boundaries.

Enabling leads to greater stress and anxiety, lower well-being, health issues, and toxic relationships. Enabling harms you and the person you think you're helping.

Episode 84 also shares three businesses that we think you should support and share with your network. Check out our Business Shout-Outs!

  • Today we're bringing you the latest in the Crypto world, from which businesses are facing bankruptcy, have crashed and burned, and some are trying to reinvent themselves in the crypto-friendly UAE.

We're sharing news and analysis about Genesis, Three Arrows Capital (3AC), Celsius Network, Crypto.com, Bitcoin, Stablecoin, terraUSD Blockchain.com, Voyager Digital, BlockFi, BitMEX, FTX, and more.

Yes, there's plenty of drama surrounding 3AC and its founders (who have been hiding for several weeks). And yes, Celsius Network is also dealing with lawsuits and bankruptcy court and being accused of running a Ponzi scheme. Yes, it's crazy in the Crypto world right now, folks, and it's not just the big companies and brokerages that have been clobbered. Nope, we'll also explore some of the stories of everyday people who lost all or most of their money in various cryptocurrency investments.

We break down the industry, terminology, and various strategies that are used, and we hope that we have simplified the complex as best as possible. We're talking about the driving forces behind the market boom, bust, and crash and what investors can do differently and better to reduce the sting of market hits; as there are similarities between the stock market highs and lows and how people reacted to the 2008 financial crisis.

We're sharing our advice and tips to better position yourself as investors and stewards of the money you earn or borrow.

If you're struggling emotionally and need someone to talk to, please call the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, formerly the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Effective July 16, 2022, they can be reached by dialing 988 from any landline or mobile device in the US. Please note that the previous 1-800-273-TALK (8255) number will continue to function indefinitely. Other international helplines can be found by visiting befrienders.org.
