  • In the mid to late 80’s an alternative rhythmic style was introduced to the dance floors and airwaves; it was the birth and rise of Latin Freestyle. The beats were for the most part a direct derivative of the early 80’s electro beat style popular in New York and beyond pioneered by Afrika Bambata and the Soul Sonic Force and other local talents. The Hispanic community namely of New York and Miami put a new spin on the beats by incorporating melodic vocals and added musical layers.

  • BMS 70s Mack III

We are going back to the early to mid-70s, when afros, platform shoes, and creative hand shaking were all the rage. It was a time of fun and self-pride within the black community, but it was also a time of despair and self-abuse due to the conditions of the nation.
I choose to remember the good times, so let’s take this trip together and enjoy the golden era of Black Music.

DJ Rhythm Dee hosts a recurring segment known as the Black Magic Sounds. The show will feature the smooth grooves of Neo-Soul, Funk, R&B, Jazz, as well as Disco, Soulful House, Slow Jams, Reggae, and anything that moves you. It’s all about feeling the music and hearing some tracks that were forgotten or entirely new to you.

Featuring Curtis Mayfield, The Chi-Lites, The Meters, The Moments, Millie Jackson, and much more!
