The March onset is likely to be characterized by isolated thunderstorms, strong winds, lightning, and hailstorms in various parts of the country.
The peak rainfall is expected between April and early May in most parts of the country.
The temperatures, however, are expected to be warmer than average across the country during the MAM (March, April, and May) period.
Overall, during the month that is March, April, May 2025 season, Uganda is expected to receive near-normal to above-normal rainfall over most of the regions.

Organic Farming is a component of Climate Smart Smart Agriculture but obtaining the right organic pesticides and fertilizers is challenging. Farmers currently rely on locally mixed of tobacco leaves with red pepper, human urine and water to combat pests.
Dr Richard Kanyarukiga from the University of Rwanda’s College of Agriculture, Animal Sciences and Veterinary Medicine describes climate-smart agriculture as one component of sustainable agriculture. The Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF) virus causes severe viral hemorrhagic fever outbreaks. CCHF causes fatality rate of 40%. The virus is primarily transmitted to people from ticks and livestock animals. Human-to-human transmission can occur resulting from close contact with the blood, secretions, organs or other bodily fluids of infected persons. There is no vaccine available for either people or animals.
