Body-weight exercises are a great exercise tool especially if you are a beginner to exercising or if you are worried about injuring yourself. You can of course still injure yourself if you do too much of any exercise, but the times I've injured myself like blowing out my O-ring it was always because I was using too much weight too soon, too fast, too carelessly and has never been the result of a body-weight exercise. This is anecdotal so take it with a grain of salt.

If you are starting out I suggest that you go to your local home improvement store and buy a length of 500lb test rope. This will be rope about 3/4 inch wide. Buy enough length to go under your feet and a little bit above your armpits. I say a little bit above because you're going to buy a little bit of pvc pipe for handles and tie knots before and after the pvc pipe. So when you're finished you'll have a perfect jump rope which goes under your feet and up to your armpits. If it is any shorter you're going to have problems.

One last thing which is incredibly important. What keeps me sane while eating like this? A weekly cheat meal where I eat whatever I want. Now don't make it a henry VIIIth type meal and it's fine. This will keep you disciplined along the way and will give you something to look forward to.

My wife became pregnant and she would get cravings. At night she would say, you know I could go for a double-double from In and Out with a milkshake. I said, so could I. I think I maxed out around 235. For a 5'10'' guy, this is pretty large.

The main problem is that some think that all diets, all exercise routines are for everyone. This is sadly not the case. While our bodies are similar, were all at different places in life and what works for one, may not work for another.
