  • Italian duo Orion are back, consistently offering their trademark warmth. This release on Dutch label Far Blue is another testament to their talent and deep love for what they do, and a perfect third release for this community-driven label. The EP will be available to purchase in vinyl and digital formats at the end of April.

The opening track on the EP, Her, evokes a whimsical, warm, and delicate aura of calm introspection, the track builds with hollow, immersive percussive elements, creating a neat and uplifting groove. Its slow pace and cosmic touch deliver a reassuring sense of well-being, that feeling where you stop for a second, and realise everything is going to be alright. Their laid-back personalities mirror the calm, collected nature of their music.

This track portrays just one corner of their repertoire, as the rest of the EP explores the range of these two talented Italian producers. You’re in for a treat.

  • French imprint Melifera Records is back with their latest offering being a diverse release centered around Biocym and his track, Wadis. The five track EP includes interpretations by Piante Vive, Sauvage Dub Trio, Arto, and Biocym himself with a deep vision rework.

As the name implies, Arto’s remix or ‘Fractured dub’ is exactly that. A well executed halftime chugger that breaks apart the original and reassembles it in a twisted manner that keeps things fresh and gets the head nodding. Ever-shifting drum lines and siren-like melodies keep the atmosphere heavy while maintaining a core groove that is ever so loved here at Delayed.

Wadis Variations will be released on May 30th via Melifera Records.

  • This week we’re in the Bay Area, where Endzeit has quietly become one of the most thoughtful techno series on the West Coast. Over the past few years, they’ve brought in artists who feel closely aligned with our extended niche community, people who approach sound with care, intention, and a sense of forward movement. We’re glad to host Torsion, the founders of the Endzeit, whose "Delayed with..." mix captures the clarity and pressure that runs through everything they do.

Torsion doesn’t move in straight lines. Their work circles, strains, folds in on itself, always dragging tension to the surface. Formerly known as Sentient, the duo has spent years refining a sound that resists resolution. Their recent track Misgivings, released on Semantica’s Petricor compilation, lands like a pressure system, low-end submerged just enough to make your footing uncertain. There’s no payoff, no center, just a dense psychoacoustic atmosphere that holds you in place and dares you to find shape in it.

Torsion's mix for Delayed stays on-brand in the best way: tight, physical, with a kind of controlled momentum that hits first in the chest, then catches up to your head. It opens with force, big room sound, no wasted space, but somewhere around the midpoint, the gears slip. Syncopation edges in, structure blurs. It’s not a derailment, more like a detour through darker, looser terrain. By the end, the groove snaps back, but the trip has already shifted. What starts as propulsion ends in something more hypnotic. It’s techno made with discipline and intent. No spectacle, no filler, just impact.

  • The relationship between the visual and auditory creative realms is a close one. Equally as expressive, and open to experimentation, both seem to elevate the other when done tastefully and in combination. It comes to no surprise then, that our premiere for today is from a collaboration between Javier Marimon, and Daniel[i], as JD. A great producer outright, Javier Marimon’s visual contributions range far and wide in our scene, through various label logos, club flyers, album artworks and more, his touch is undeniable, and recognizable. Equally so for his German counterpart on the release, as Daniel[i]'s productions are near and dear to all our hearts.

Continuing a structure of other prior collaborations and releases on Off Tangent, focused around shortened production periods and an emphasis on raw sessions, Javier and Daniel[i]’s time together has coalesced into the seventh release on Javier’s imprint. Titled Segments I and II, the two tracker sits well within the wheelhouse of both artists, shedding light on what is possible from a few meetings and a knack for when something is finished.

Segment II arrives precisely when it means to. Each element unfolds at its own pace, maintaining tension, movement, keeping things interesting however deftly so. Not overt, but subtle. Textures, and off kilter bass lines intermix with muted melodies and cast a shadow over all.

Segments I and II will be released on the 28th of May on Off Tangent Recs.

  • Federsen’s Alt Dub label is back with its third ‘Artist Series’ VA, and it’s another gem for the heads who like their dub techno deep and unbothered. This edition lands with contributions from cv313, Taction, Hidden Sequence, and Fletcher, each orbiting around Federsen’s signature ethos: texture, depth, and restraint with purpose.

Fletcher’s “A Distant Place” opens the B-side like a sunbeam through a dusty window. It’s soft, but it cuts. There’s a pulse here, but it drifts. Think of a long drive with nowhere to be, or a trail that leads somewhere quiet. The piano glints like light on water, while the groove rolls steady beneath, holding space without crowding it. It’s introspective but never cold, made for golden hour and places without ceilings. The third edition of ‘Artist Series’ is available for pre-order before it releases on May 26.

  • The sky overcast, the air a bit chilly and flecked with an occasional rain drop. Spring is looking a bit subdued at the moment here in Brooklyn. All being said, there is still an energetic feeling when walking through the city and seeing the evening come alive with the comings and goings of a million people.

Like a perfect soundtrack to a night time ride through New York, Margaux Gazur’s forth-coming LP on Smallville gives feelings of introspection albeit with a bit of a twist. Through deft use of softer melodic pads, and interesting percussive patterns, Margaux keeps things fresh and lends an edge to a familiar auditory locale.

Su Phu, coming at C1 on the double vinyl release (digital as well, so don’t worry there) starts as a dark, rolling affair, with crunching textured sounds panning around rhythmic bass lines that persist throughout. As the track progresses, bright melodies come into play to lighten the mood and even contribute to a dynamic, ever shifting groove that constantly keeps your attention pinned.

Margaux Gazur’s Blurred Memories LP will be released out into the world on May 23rd.

  • This week we land in Valencia and spend a moment with Ilayruni, a 19-year-old with an ear for rhythm and space, still shaping his sound but already showing a feel for nuance. Earlier this year, he released Mountain Flyers EP on Sungate, a label with which we’ve worked closely over the years, known for its focus on various shades of techno and a taste for forward-thinking sounds.

His hour-long set is made entirely from his own material, and it leans into the shadows. It starts slow and murky, with a dense, eerie atmosphere that unfolds with intent. The progression is subtle but steady, each track steps a little deeper into the fog, each rhythm adds a sharper edge. There’s tension in the way it builds, but no drama.

There’s a clear affection for polyrhythms and off-center grooves, and a careful balance between control and drift. The textures shift, the pace grows, but the mood stays intact, claustrophobic at times, even hypnotic. It’s not polished to perfection, and that’s part of the charm. You hear someone exploring, reaching, figuring it out in real time. A young producer following instinct, not trends. We’re curious where that path leads.

  • Sarah Wreath is building something solid. After turning heads with her contribution to Sandwell District’s End Beginnings, she steps forward with 光と影 (Hikari to Kage), a new EP on a promising Dutch label Wabi Sabi Audio Imprint. It’s a compact, carefully crafted release featuring two originals accompanied by remixes from Pianeti Sintetici, HI-C, and label founder Jorge Fons. If you’re into vinyl and care about detail, this one is for the shelf.

The title track opens with restraint: low-end pressure, drawn-out pads, and a pulse that feels lived-in. Over time, acid stabs and spacey synths slip in, not to explode, but to shift the atmosphere. There’s a suggestion of movement in the title, but the track doesn’t chase light or fall into darkness. It stays in the grey, in the tension. It’s subtle, textural, and confident in its stillness.

光と影 (Hikari to Kage) releases June 6 via Wabi Sabi’s Bandcamp.

  • At Delayed, consistency and vision matter. That’s why we’re always happy to shine a light on those who keep pushing forward with purpose. Berlin-based label Art Bei Ton is marking its seventh anniversary with a standout compilation titled Faded Mystical Journey, a cohesive 8-track release that moves from shadowy, atmospheric depths into rich, hypnotic territory.

The compilation features contributions from longtime friends of our platform, familiar names, and some exciting discoveries. Today’s premiere comes from a friend of Delayed: the Japanese sound architect Makiko Iwaki, known to many as Menou when performing live, and Iwamaki behind the decks.

Here, she appears in her Menou guise with Singularity, the opening track on the release. It’s a meditative, slow-burning drone that sets the tone beautifully. Singularity is a slow exhale, a layered drone that feels still, but never static. It builds with grace, tension, and care. Menou creates a space that’s both calming and charged, a paradox that works effortlessly.
Faded Mystical Journey drops May 16 via Art Bei Ton’s Bandcamp. Happy seventh, Art Bei Ton, here’s to the next chapter.

  • There’s a space between life and death where memory, emotion, and rhythm blur into something unspoken, that’s where Vanta begins. “Between Life and Death”, his debut album on IO Records, draws from personal upheaval, pairing stark introspection with glimmers of defiance. The project navigates the tension between collapse and healing, with tracks like “Intrusive Thoughts” and “Void” oscillating between vulnerability and strength. It’s a record that doesn’t offer resolution, only presence, a sonic companion for those walking their own edge.

Opening with “Dissociative Drift”, Vanta wastes no time setting the emotional temperature. The track feels like falling into a dream you half-remember, bleepy percussion echoing like distant signals, submerged beneath fog-thick drones and viscous synth lines. It’s less a song than a state of mind, evoking the sensation of floating through murky water, unsure if you’re surfacing or sinking. A slow, syncopated pulse guides you, not forward, but inward.

“Between Life and Death” arrives on May 13 via IO Records. Pre-orders are live now on Bandcamp.

  • Atrice make music like they’re reverse-engineering a dream from memory - glitchy, precise, physical. The Swiss-Colombian duo operate somewhere between academic discipline and raw, system-shaking instinct. Their background in sound art and theory is like the scaffolding they climb to throw punches from unexpected angles. Every release, whether on Ilian Tape, TraTraTrax or their own Miras imprint, feels like a study in tension: synthetic vs organic, chaos vs control, deep listening vs full-body response. Their sound demands submission.

This “Delayed with…” mix is a live recording from H0l0 in NYC during a fabulous Final Passage night that felt like a pressure cooker ready to blow. Atrice went straight for the circuitry, sending pulses through a room thick with fog and anticipation. Over two hours, they bent tempo and space, stitching breakbeat mutations, sub-bass architecture, and brain-bending percussive patterns into something that felt both unstable and surgically tight. It’s not a set you glide through but one that pulls you under, spins you around, and spits you out somewhere unfamiliar but fully alive. If you weren’t there, this is as close as you’ll get to the chaos. For now.

  • Obscure shapes rise in the distance, a haze of smoke obscures all. Movements seem slow and time is but a figment of the imagination. The focus turns inward as a sense of calmness encompasses, letting the mind relax. Overhead the sky is black, but filled with stars, with brief flashes of light as celestial bodies march across the heavenly vista.

This mental imagery springs to mind when listening through Pierre Nesi aka Owl’s forthcoming LP, titled, ‘Fragments of Darkness’ on the storied Korean imprint, Huinali Recordings. A wonderful pairing, and an instant listen whenever either name pops up. Fragments of Darkness will be Owl’s second release, following 2022’s ‘Forest Shadow’. Coincidentally not, another must listen if you’ve not heard already.

Lanterns Illuminate The Infinite Space comes as the final, 7th track to the musical odyssey that Owl has crafted. Beautiful, soft pads lead off and establish a warm atmospheric vibe. The light to the darker moments in the release, the counter that Pierre is so adept at crafting. Ebbing and flowing, the track expands and soon a prominent melody emerges, accented by flashes of synths that give structure and development.

Fragments of Darkness will be released on May 12th, off of Huinali Recordings, on all platforms.

  • The internet gave us wild ways to connect, but it still can’t beat the real thing - meeting people in real life. A few months ago, we found ourselves in our beloved Barn deep in the Catskills, surrounded by trees, friends, and a four-day blur of heavy tunes and strange magic. That’s where we met Verena, aka Ena B. We connected through mutual friends and a shared pull toward deeper, dubbier, stranger sounds, and just like that, a new link was made.

Her “Delayed with…” mix is a slow-burner in the best way. It moves with intention, breaky, heady, and atmospheric, full of space and subtle pressure. There’s a patience to her selections, a confidence in the flow. Ena B may be new to the fold, but she speaks the language fluently. Expect more transmissions soon.

  • Hailing from Sydney, Australia, artist Pannotia, under the Pure Space label, is releasing a five-track EP titled "Cell." This EP will be available on Bandcamp from 2nd May and immediately captivates with its own twang. This sound exists within a multitude of spaces, specifically in a realm called ‘Biozone’ in which this track is titled.

The music evokes a feeling of being recharged, discovering movements and forms that have always existed within but are now imbued with cosmic influence. Bionic and poetic, it offers an undeniably sexy slow groove that holds a special place on the dance floor, built upon bass-heavy foundations and a seductive, relaxed trance – a track capable of transporting us in any direction as it draws to a close.

  • Octo Åeterna is a producer and DJ deeply embedded in the darker edges of electronic music. With roots in South America's underground, he's spent years fine-tuning a sonic identity that draws on mathematical structures, probability, and organic chaos. His work, solo and through his Technologia Organica label, explores textured psychedelia, often grounded in nature's strange logic. Releases on Danza Nativa and his imprint showcase a careful but adventurous mind, balancing abstract sound design with dancefloor weight. Whether curating Noctambula nights or crafting vinyl releases, Octo's aesthetic is precise, immersive, and alive with intent.

His "Delayed with…" mix is a live recording from Berlin's legendary Tresor that happened in June 2023, and it plays like a transmission from a parallel biome. It begins in murky waters, ambient textures that ripple and curl like oil on a dark tide, then gradually locks into a loose-limbed, halftime pulse. Octo leans into polyrhythmic percussion and deep, sticky synths, shifting between grooves with surgical control. As the set evolves, four-to-the-floor rhythms rise like tectonic plates, grinding under a thick atmosphere. By the end, he cracks the structure open with broken beats and UK-leaning breaks, closing on a haunting and strangely euphoric note. It's a mix that mutates without losing shape, like watching an alien ecosystem reorganize in real time.

  • Annuled Music is back with another gem, this time introducing Aawadh - a new alias from French producer and Cielo Records boss JC Laurent. Known for his deep, hypnotic take on techno, JC flips the script on Dyadica, an 8-track debut album that trades 4/4 for halftime pressure and lands somewhere in the 80/85 BPM zone. It’s packed with groove, weight, and that sweet spot between heady and physical. There’s room for ambient detours (Ignys), tribal techno nods (Nyteris), and and straight-up pressure with Oscillia, but the core vibe? Forward-thinking halftime drum & bass with real depth.

We’re premiering the second track from the album, Alkymis, which together with the opener Evolys kicks things off and sets the whole vibe. Eerie and energised, with a kind of ritualistic swing to it. The drums snap, the synths melt, and everything flows just right. There’s a UK breaks feel underneath, but it’s doing its own thing. Big system or headphones, club or commute, it hits. One of those tracks that makes the world move a little faster.

Dyadica drops May 2 via Annuled Music.

  • Long time friends Big City Bill and Neil E meet for a split EP of groovy driving house dubs on Naarm’s Spincycle Records. The BBV is laid out with kicking drums and lightly tapping percussions. A washed out pad drifts in and out sprinkling magic over listeners while an organ like bassline propels. It’s a slightly cheeky groove that makes you want to kick off your shoes and watch the sun go down with your friends. The programming is catchy and yet still kind of sneaks up, unfolding as the snappy hats and clap are revealed. Neil E’s contribution to Spincycle fits well next to their first release, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was also found in the record bags of discerning tech or progressive selectors.

On the flipside is Big City Bill’s, ‘Dry Rub’ a wiggly fun number that is bound to keep summer dancefloors bounding.
‘Fantastic Thoughts EP’ is out on April 28th. Pre-Order is Available Now.

  • This mix has been brewing in my head for a while now.. An inkling of it first started to pop up back in October while we were at our biannual Delayed gathering in the mountains of upstate New York. I played a set with a dear friend on the Sunday morning there - cozy & hopeful music from various corners of our collections that don't get played very often but are set aside for special moments. My favorite kind of music.. It was one of the most memorable sets I've played & brought up a ton of emotions & memories from past experiences hearing some of those songs. Memories from my wedding, memories of my brother, memories from times living in Los Angeles when Sundays were all about lounging around all day in the sunshine after nights of dancing into the early hours of the morning. We laughed, cried, danced, ate lunch, all over the course of the morning into the early afternoon. It laid the foundation for how I wanted to approach this mix for Zach.

Sundays for me have always been a day of healing - mentally, physically, emotionally. It's a day to seek inner peace & a day to be reminded of everything you have to be grateful for in spite of anything else. I recorded this mix on a rainy Saturday earlier this month, channeling all of those memories & feelings, with my dog by my feet while my wife & daughter wandered about the house, making beaded bracelets & doing various arts & crafts.

From me to you, a warm hug & the promise of spring.

  • Musical paths twist and turn throughout life, one never knows where the next connection can come from. Like minded people, loving the same artform or creative form of expression makes for many a ‘friend at first sight’. After meeting Luca a few years ago at Mostra, we’ve had the opportunity to spend plenty of time dancing and chatting together, enjoying our favorite musical expression. As head of his E2-E8 label, the London based DJ and curator has crafted his own path with prior releases from fellow Delayed friends Avsluta, and hems to name a few.

To mark E2-E8’s first release of 2025, the responsibility goes to a founder of the Unknown Species Collective event and podcast series, Rado aka Naturalisten and his debut titled Forms. The 6 track release, including a remix by Forest Drive West, blends a few different musical styles. Acid, ambient, deep techno, breaks, all coming forth in a nicely varied release.

Against the Tide is a floaty number, with muted, upbeat melodies providing some sense of groove and a nice counter to the darker side of the release. These tones are complimented by a steady stream of shakers and hi-hats that deftly hit in the background but don’t overwhelm the mix of panned textures and occasional glittery synth.

Expect Forms to be out on the 25th of April in record stores, and on Bandcamp.
