What happens when your body completely crashes and you have no energy to get off the couch?
For Julie Gibson Clark, that moment became the turning point. After being diagnosed with heavy metal poisoning, she began a journey that would transform not only her health, but how she thinks about aging, wellness, and self-discipline taking her to the leaderboard of the Rejuvenation Olympics worldwide (a public leaderboard ranking biological aging via epigenetic clocks), and currently ageing at only 65 days per 100 days. Julie shares her accessible approach to longevity - blending science, intuition, and a healthy dose of self-compassion. From structured routines and strength training to intuitive fasting, oxalates, supplements, and spiritual rituals, Julie unpacks the systems she uses to feel younger, stronger, and more grounded.
This is a conversation about real-life longevity - without $10k-a-month protocols or lab coats. Just honesty, experimentation, and a deep respect for beauty and balance.

If you've ever felt like your anxiety was swallowing you whole - like something was broken inside but like you have to suck it up and get on with it anyway - you've got to know you don't have to stay there, and this episode might help to see how.
In discussion here with leading expert in trauma-informed clinical psychology and holistic medicine for anxiety and panic, Dr Nicole Cain unpacks with us that anxiety isn’t the problem - yep, that's right. It's not the problem - it’s the signal. Through her personal and clinical journey, she reframes anxiety as the body’s way of showing us where healing needs to happen - that anxiety isn’t something to be silenced, but something to be understood.
We explore anxiety through the lens of neuroplasticity, mitochondrial health, and trauma-informed healing and Dr. Cain shares her 4-step process for rewiring your nervous system, explains how anxiety manifests differently in each of us and reveals why addressing the root cause is the only real path we have to emotional well-being.
We cover:

In Part 1, we laid the foundation for a new understanding of cancer - one that begins with mitochondrial dysfunction and the bioenergetic breakdown of cells. In Part 2, we move into the real-world implications: how we treat, manage, and potentially prevent cancer using a metabolic lens.
Dr. Tomás Duraj explores the emerging tools and protocols being studied - from ketogenic metabolic therapies to glutamine inhibition, and how combining dietary strategies with systemic approaches might redefine cancer care completely. It is not throwing away what we already know, but rather using what we know works and disregarding what doesn’t.
We also look at the failures of past trials, why so many therapies underperform, and what happens when the patient shifts from passive recipient to active participant in their treatment.
In Part 2, we cover:
🥑 The difference between dietary and pharmacological ketogenic therapy
📉 Why traditional cancer treatment starts backwards - and what to consider instead
📊 GKI (Glucose Ketone Index) as a key metabolic marker
⚙️ Using fasting, exercise, and ketones to shift cellular metabolism
🧬 How patient-led protocols could shape future cancer trials
🧠 The potential of metabolism-based priming for immunotherapy success
⏱️ Why time, compliance, and education are critical variables in success
This episode isn’t just about understanding cancer - it’s about reimagining how we treat it, measure it, and empower patients to become collaborators in their own care.

We’ve been told for decades that cancer is a genetic disease - a matter of unlucky mutations. But what if we’ve been starting in the wrong place?
In this two-part episode, medical doctor and cancer metabolism researcher Dr. Tomás Duraj takes us through a paradigm-shifting look at cancer - exploring the metabolic theory, how it contrasts with the prevailing somatic mutation theory, and why mitochondrial dysfunction may hold the key to both treatment and prevention.
This episode covers the history of cancer theory, the evolutionary biology behind it, and why current models might be missing the mark by focusing on downstream symptoms instead of upstream causes.
In Part 1, we cover:
🧬 The somatic mutation theory vs. the metabolic theory of cancer🧠 Why mitochondria may be the origin, not a side-effect📚 The history of cancer theory - and why we got stuck on genetics🧪 Redefining the Warburg effect and oxidative phosphorylation🧬 BRCA mutations, mitochondrial signalling & inherited risk⚡ Energy before all else - how bioenergetics impacts everything🍽️ Why dietary interventions (like ketogenic therapy) are still so misunderstood
This conversation is foundational - if you want to understand why cancer research has been stalling (and where the future might be), this is where to start and end.
🎙️ Stay tuned for Part 2, where Dr Tomás dives into the potential of metabolic therapies in real-life application and treatment frameworks.

Hormones are often misunderstood or oversimplified (because they are quite complicated). But according to Dr. Rob Kominiarek, they are one of the most powerful (and most overlooked) levers we have for health, vitality, and aging well. So it's worth knowing what we can do to improve them and feel better, right?
In his practice, Dr Rob Kominiarek focuses on individualised, root-cause approaches towards hormone balance, metabolic health, and long-term wellness. Yes he uses all the tools in the box, but only when they're necessary and fit the client. Here, Dr Rob and Ben are exploring the role of testosterone in men and women, how hormone imbalances manifest differently in men and women, and why lab results alone aren’t the full picture.
We cover:
💥 Symptom over numbers - why how you feel matters more than your lab results
💊 Cellular resistance and over-prescribed TRT - when your body makes hormones, but they don’t do what they’re supposed to
🧘♀️ Women’s hormones - why birth control and low protein intake create a "perfect metabolic storm"
💥 Peptides & personalised protocols - tools for healing and hormone regulation without cookie-cutter plans
🥗 How lifestyle affects hormones - under-eating, overtraining, birth control, and stress
⚡ Symptoms vs. Lab Results - why chasing "optimal T levels" is a distraction if you’re not solving the root issue
🚫 The real danger? Focusing on visible muscle while ignoring bone loss, energy decline, and mood shifts
This episode also endeavours to bring more information to the fore on female hormones, and where there are distinct differences between the two sexes that are critical to our understanding and optimisation of sex hormones. More to come on this!

Part 2 of 2.
For years, fat has been the villain of the food world. We’ve been told it clogs arteries, sends cholesterol through the roof, and leads to heart disease. But is that actually true? It's about time to give fat a fair trial.
Enter Dr Mary Newport. Here, we're discussing Mary's new article (released this month - Feb 2025) analysing 26 studies conducted from 1985 to 2024 with 984 complete datasets - looking specifically at the coconut oil on lipid parameters (total, LDL, HDL cholesterol, and triglycerides).
Mary helps us to break down the history of the lipid-heart hypothesis (aka: the idea that fat = heart disease), the fact this remains what it states (a hypothesis) and yet our entire food belief system is built from it, what the research actually says, and why things are not be as black and white as fat=bad=avoid.
🔍 We cover:
✅ The Fat Fear Factor - where did the idea that fat is bad even come from?
✅ Coconut Oil & Cholesterol - should we be worried to incorporate more coconut/MCT/olive oil on a keto diet? 🥥
✅ Cholesterol 101 - is LDL really the “bad guy,” or is there more to the story?
✅ Metabolism & Health - how things like inflammation and blood sugar fit into the picture
✅ Fuel for Thought - why Mary is a big proponent of MCT oil for brain health
Tune in for a research-backed conversation about fat, cholesterol, keto, and heart health and whether we really have any reason to be side-eyeing that extra few servings of olive oil.

The light we see is as crucial as the food we eat, the water we drink, and the air we breathe. Former Harvard Medical School professor and 40-year leading expert in circadian clocks and human health, Dr. Moore-Ede speaks on why our health hinges on getting the right sort of light at the right time.
In this episode, he reveals the dangers of modern LED lighting, which often emits bright but unhealthy "junk light." Just as junk food wreaks havoc on our body, junk light disrupts our circadian rhythms, suppresses melatonin, and contributes to chronic diseases.
We cover:
💤 The Health Risks of LED Lighting: "junk light" disrupts circadian rhythms, suppresses melatonin, and contributes to chronic diseases
💡 Junk Light and Lumens - modern lighting regulations prioritise energy efficiency over human health
🕒 Circadian Clocks and Longevity: light is essential for disease prevention and healing
👓 Rise of Myopia in Children: indoor living and reduced exposure to natural light are fueling skyrocketing rates of myopia
🌈 Blue light blocking glasses - do you have the right sort?
🛠️ Practical Solutions for Healthier Lighting: simple changes you can make in your home and your life
Backed by decades of evidence, Dr Martin Moore-Ede shares the science behind why we must prioritise light in our health, and how to optimise our exposure for immediate benefits, and a longer, healthier life.

Here we're speaking with Dr. Joseph Cullen as he discusses his research on high dose intravenous (IV) vitamin C as a treatment for metastatic cancer. The aim in his lab is to show that adding high-dose, IV vitamin C, which is very inexpensive and very well tolerated, can improve treatment for these cancers that are among the deadliest. Joseph highlights the potential for it to transform not just patient outcomes but the entire conversation around alternative therapies. He shares candid insights from his lab’s work on glioblastoma, lung cancer, and pancreatic cancer, as well as ongoing studies into combining vitamin C with other treatments like immunotherapy and radiation.
We cover:
💡 What makes high-dose IV vitamin C a game - changer in cancer care
📈 Cancer progression and survival outcomes - his research that shows doubling progression-free survival
🔍 Mechanisms of action - pro-oxidant in cancer cells, antioxidant in healthy cells
👩⚕️ Challenges in acceptance - why some oncologists remain skeptical
🩺 Who benefits most - which cancers respond best, combining therapies, and where it doesn’t work
⚠️ Side effects and safety - what to watch for, including rare risks
The research shows significant promise, but challenges persist. Joseph opens up about the difficulties in securing funding for anything outside pharma-driven drugs and compounds, the skepticism from traditional oncology, and the need for more extensive clinical trials to validate findings. Despite these hurdles, his belief in the therapy’s potential remains steadfast - and his surprise at just how well it works, over and over again, keeps driving him forward.
