In this series finale of the DCOM Divas podcast, we are reviewing one of the most iconic and memorable DCOMs of all: Camp Rock! And while this is the final jam for our show, we want to prove we still rock by bringing on one of our favorite return guests, Kaylee! Together, she and Jana reminisce about the year of our lord 2008 and how it not only brought Camp Rock but with it gave us Demi Lovato, lots of Jonas Brothers scarves, unforgettable shoulder dancing, stolen charm bracelets, dance routines that everyone in the camp can somehow memorize immediately, and a final jam with a somewhat underwhelming winning song followed by the absolute anthem that is “This is Me.”
Thanks so much for listening Divas, this podcast has been a wonderful part of my life for the past few years and I cannot imagine where I’d be without it. I’ll miss recording with all my Diva guests and can almost guarentee I’ll be back with a new podcast at some point. Much Love, your host, Jana <3

As Pitbull once said, in order to understand the future we have to go back in time. So that's exactly what we're doing on this review of the 2008 Jason Dolley DCOM, Minutemen! Joining the episode are two-time travellin' divas that you've come to know and love, Sean and Robert! Together, these beloved return guests team up with Jana to talk about the guy who played Curtis the Caveman on Phil of the Future (spoiler alert, his character in this movie is a real douchebag), getting teachers fired in middle school, how impressive the wormhole in this film is, whether time travel should really exist, and how this movie seems to really want to perpetuate bullying. Enjoy this journey to the past divas!

Think DCOM Divas reviews too many Lindsay Lohan movies? Well then you better turn this off because you’re about to get twice the Lohan in this review of the classic 1998 Disney flick, The Parent Trap. On this episode, Jana is joined not by her long-lost twin but definitely her sister in Christ (ahem, the two of them played nuns together in a musical), Amelia! Together these millenial queens reminisce over iconic characters like Meredith Blake, Martin the Buttler, and most importantly, Chessie! They discuss questions we should have been asking about this film all along like…
Should these parents actually be getting back together because it seems like they have no valid reason to other than to reunite their kids who’ve they’ve intentionally separated and lied to for 11 years?
Is Meredith Blake actually the horrendous bitch we make her out to be or is Nick Parker an overly hands-off and wildly irresponsible parent who got secretly engaged to his much younger girlfriend while his daughter was away at camp and expects her to just be ok with it? How is it possible to simultaneously worship Chessie as a queer icon yet whole-heartedly ship her and Martin as the one true love story of this movie?Throw on your oversized denim shirt, pull out some Oreos covered in peanut butter, and enjoy this journey back to the 90s divas!

What time is it? Not summertime BUT that’s not going to stop us from heading to the country club and putting on our Jimmy Choo flip flops to tune into the iconic musical DCOM, High School Musical 2! Joining Jana on this Sharpay apoligist ep is fellow HSM-lover Austin. Together these wildcats discuss Zac Efron shirtless, the iconicly queer-coded bop that is “I Don’t Dance”, and whether Sharpay and Troy are potentially a better couple than Gabriella and Troy. You can bet on this episode to give you something inspiring to help you get along. IYKYK

Don't we all need a hero to rescue us when Emporer Qin Shi Huang's army of ancient terracotta soldiers suddenly comes to life? And shouldn't that hero be none other than Brenda Song, aka the one and only London Tipton. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, then tune into this episode where we review the 2006 kungfu-tastic DCOM, Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior. Joining Jana is her pal who might not be a Disney Channel fanatic but nonetheless offers an insightful perspective on the flick, Denae. Together these lady warriors discuss experimental psychology, Laotian erasure, and the natural inclination of the human mind to categorize people into caricatures. Sound like out-of-the-ordinary subject matter for DCOM Divas? Fear not, we dedicate plenty of time chatting about the 80s fashion revivlas that's alive and well in this movie (especially the orange and pink tulle Homecoming dress Wendy Wu sports while kicking ass by way of kung fu.) Enjoy Divas!

Brace yourself for a cinematic journey where beloved baby boomers Kurt Russell, Bruce Campbell, and Lynda Carter band together, not just as stars, but as mentors to a motley crew of teenagers in their quest to become superheroes. That's the heart and soul of this 2006 heroic flick, Sky High. On this episode, Jana is accompanied by iconic return guest Jacob and his Disney aficionado lady friend, Amanda. In this delightful discussion, these three dive into the whimsical world of red-haired Disney characters, ponder the age-old mystery of why a senior girl might fancy a dorky freshman with a bowl cut, debate the practicality of a superpower that transforms one into a guinea pig, and celebrate the unsung heroes of the story: the sidekicks who turn out to be the real day-savers. Enjoy this action-packed episode!

Ready to hear your favorite sisters talk about your least favorite Halloweentown movie? Then you are in for both a trick and a treat because today Jana and her sister Chloe are discussing the 2006 DCOM, Return to Halloweentown. On this episode, Chloe and Jana divulge their opinions on the infamous recasting of Sarah Paxton as Marnie, regale every iconic moment from the year 2006, wince at the thought of ass embroidered jeans, and cringe over how clueless we all were about culturally appropriative costumes back in the day--and honestly have things changed that much? Happy Halloween divas!

Loved Sister Sister but always wished it was about witches? Then you're in luck because we're reviewing two movies that are essentially just that—Twitches 1 & Too! On this episode, Jana is joined by her Tia and Tamera loving friend Vivian to discuss how iconic these curly-haired twins were back in the 90s, how their characters in this flick were exactly the same as in their TV show, how many blazers both of these witches wore, and how Haunted Mansion (yes the Eddie Murphy one) was straight up garbage yet still endlessly enjoyable. Have a happy Halloween divas!

Wouldn't switching bodies with your mom be freaky? While we can't quite accomplish that on this podcast, we can review the classic 2000's Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan flick Freaky Friday. And who better to discuss this iconic piece of cinema with than Jana's own loving mother Kathy. On the episode, this mommy-daughter duo discuss the iconic career of Jamie Lee Curtis, why Jana is petrified of wearing super low-waisted jeans, back-of-the-throat singing, magic body-swapping fortune cookies, and Chad Michael Murray's peculiar hairstyles. Hope this episode warms your heart!

Were you once a teenage drama queen? If so, you were likely charmed by Lindsay Lohan's captivating performance as Lola Step in the 2003 Disney film Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. On this podcast episode, Jana is joined by her Y2K-loving pal, Gaby, to ponder Lindsay's early 2000s tabloid escapades, why Megan Fox's character couldn't simultaneously be the most popular girl in school and a theater nerd, question the appropriateness of idolizing a 30-something-year-old rockstar like SidArthur, and muse over why the movie's production of "Eliza Rocks" should become a real musical. We hope this episode brings all your most nostalgic millennial musical dreams to life!
