Merry Murder Monday! Today we have some exciting news regarding the podcast followed by the case of Sherri Rasmussen, the newlywed who was found by her husband just months after their wedding day. Sherri was beaten, shot, and bitten by her attacker. Police were convinced that the outcome was due to a botched robbery by two men, and since they were never able to find out who was responsible for this crime, the case went cold for 23 years. When cold case detectives picked up the 1986 case two decades later, they were stunned to find out that the person responsible was someone that was right under their noses the entire time.

Today for our March two case episode we cover two cases that involve two wrongfully convicted men, David Ray Camm and Jimmy Ray Bromgard. Gina covers the case of David Camm, a father and husband who comes home from a basketball game to discover his family brutally murdered in their garage. The details surrounding the case were anything but ordinary, and David was tried for this three separate times with a different motive pushed each time. It all comes down to a man nicknamed, “Backbone.”
Hayley covers the case of young Jim Bromgard who was arrested for the rape of 8-year-old, Linda Glantz. His trial was frustrating to say the least, with very little evidence to convict him, but that didn’t stop the jury from sending him to prison. He spent the next 14.5 years there before DNA evidence was able to prove his innocence and led to his exoneration. In 1982, 13-year-old friends, Peter Aston and Terry Ryan, unfortunately hitch a ride with two of the most sadistic people Australia has ever seen. The next few hours were complete horror for the two boys, Peter especially. He was tortured, sexually assaulted, and buried alive. Fortunately for Terry, they took him back home, but not before being abused himself and watching his friend be tortured to death.

This week Hayley covers the case of Laura Ackerson who was fooled by the person she was supposed to spend the rest of her life with. When Laura met Grant Hayes, it was love at first sight. They quickly got married and had two beautiful little boys, but behind closed doors it was a completely different story. Grant Hayes was manipulative, abusive, and a serial cheater. The couple split after Grant had a long affair with actress Amanda Perry, which ended in a grueling custody battle between Grant and Laura. July 13, 2011 was the last time Laura was seen alive. Her body was later found in a Texas creek, completely dismembered. Listen to hear what exactly happened to the devoted mother.

Imagine this, it’s late at night and you’re home alone watching a movie with a glass of wine when you hear a knock at your door. You go to answer it and it’s two young children, asking if they could use your phone. You ask them where their parents are and they tell you that’s why they need to use your phone to call their parents. Something is off though, and you’re chilled to the bone with an eerie feeling that came from nowhere. That’s when they look up to you and expose completely pitch-black eyes, pools of endless darkness from lid to lid. Then the innocent question becomes a demand, "Let me in your house to use the phone, ma’am. You have to say that I can come inside."

Remains were found Sunday September 19, 2021 that fit the description of Gabby near the area she was last seen. We are heartbroken by this news and want to offer our condolences to her family and friends while they navigate this news and a life without her radiant light. Hug your family and friends and let them know how much you love them. AND WE LOVE YOU GUYS. Thank you for listening.
Today's cases involve killer kids. Gina covers the murder of 9-year-old Elizabeth Olten by her young neighbor and friend, Alyssa Bustamante. Not only did Alyssa lure Elizabeth to the woods to brutally murder her, but then wrote in her diary about how amazing it was. Hayley covers the horrendous case of Maddie Clifton who was just 8 years old when her 14-year-old neighbor from the house across the street viciously attacked and murdered her. He then shoved her body underneath his bed where he slept for the next 7 days before his mother discovered the gruesome crime.
