Dr. Wieland Brendel is as Principal Investigator and Group Leader of the Robust Machine Learning team at the ellis institute tübingen.His work is focused on building machine vision systems that see and understand the world like humans. After receiving his Diploma in physics, he obtained his Ph.D. in computational neuroscience. In 2023 he received the German Pattern Recognition Award for his substantial contributions on robust, generalisable and interpretable machine vision.About Cyber Valley: Cyber Valley is Europe’s largest and leading center for excellence in artificial intelligence and modern robotics. Dr Celestine Dünner is a Principal Investigator at the ELLIS Institute Tübingen, co-affiliated with the Max Planck Institute and the Tübingen AI Center. She develops theoretical and practical tools to understand the interaction between algorithmic systems and society. Dr. Jonas Geiping is an expert in safety and efficiency of AI. He studied mathematics and received his PhD in computer science, working in Europe and USA. He is a Principal Investigator at the ELLIS Institute Tübingen, working closely with Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems and Tübingen AI Center. He is leading the Safety- and Efficiency- aligned Learning group, aiming to improve safety and efficiency of Machine Learning.
