  • Today's episode is all about my experience with the plant medicine Ayahuasca and lessons/insights into my self and healing. I do feel the need to put a disclaimer which is that I'm not promoting or encouraging the use of this plant medicine. It should be approached and treated with the utmost reverence and respect. I consulted a health practitioner and the shaman about my #LymeDisease to ensure I was ready for it physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

With that being said, I hope you enjoy this podcast! Some of the key topics and themes we dive into include: Letting Go / Surrendering, deep insights into healing, oneness, sound vibration, emotional trauma, embracing discomfort, fear of letting go, the ego, shame, acceptance, love and so much more :)

  • Krissy Krugman: How to Build a Conscious Company From The Ground Up. Krissy is the cofounder of Soul.much foods, and they are notorious for their incredible cookies & products that are made from ingredients that would otherwise be thrown out. They have saved close to 12,000 pounds of food, and are making a powerful dent in the food waste crisis, turning what would literally be trashed food into tasty, delicious, gluten free, vegan cookies. I’m not just saying this, these cookies are incredible and I’ve consumed over 50 myself. But what’s even better than the cookies is the mission and purpose behind them to close the gap in the food waste crisis.

This is a super fun interview, and you’re going to get a behind the scenes look into what it actually takes to grow a company from the ground up. You may remember when I interviewed Krissy’s co founder Reyanne in Episode 6, & so I was really stoked to get Krissy’s perspective and story on creating Soul Much. • Welcome to today’s episode with Andre Shinyashiki. Andre is a professional major league soccer player with the Colorado Rapids. He just turned 23 last week and was the 2019 MLS rookie of the year in his debut professional season, which is quite the feat.

It was really cool to have Andre on the show because I’ve known him since we were kids. Andre is Brazilian, and he used to train with my team in San Diego when we were probably about 12 years old. Here’s the thing - Andre was never the best player. He was good, but he never struck me as being PRO good. That’s what’s so cool about his path to becoming not only a pro, but being the #5 overall pick in the MLS draft, breaking records in the process & making a name for himself. He was not the best, and is a perfect example of hard work and not giving up on your dreams. Without further ado, I’m excited for you to get a behind the scenes look into the mindset and journey of Colorado Rapids rising star, Andre Shinyashiki.

  • Today’s episode I believe is of the most important conversations I’ve recorded to date. I sat down to interview Garry Thorton, who has more than thirty years of experience as a teacher, coach, counselor and administrator in both public and private education. Garry also used to be my HS Principal. Garry is a black man who grew up in a very different world than I did, however he has spent well over the last decade living and teaching in North County San Diego, which if who aren’t familiar, it is an affluent, predominantly white community. I wanted to sit down with Garry because due to the recent protests and the murder of George Floyd, there has rightfully been a huge light shed on the systemic racism that is rampant in our country today in 2020.

As things have been escalating, I’ve been asking and wondering myself “What can I do as a white privileged person to help?” There are so any other questions and topics I wanted to ask Garry, however the lens of what can privileged white people do to help the black community is the main guiding star for the conversation today, as well as how white people of privilege can better educate themselves in order to take empowered actions in creating a just society, starting with you and I. So without further ado, today’s episode with Garry Thoron.
