  • In the first full length episode of the series, Alex and Rob talk through the lengthy development history of 2009's Resident Evil 5 - and its subsequent DLC and complete Gold Edition releases.

After the massive high mark Capcom staff had achieved with the release of Resident Evil 4, expectations were high for the next big title in the series. But shifts within Capcom, extremely early promotion in mid-2005, and the shift to new a new engine and HD gaming platforms all started a multi-year development unlike any Capcom had produced to that point.

Through massive changes to the games formula from the past, to heat and outside sunny locations, potential naive misunderstandings and cultural controversies, and to a Hollywood motion capture focused cutscene showcase and a marketing campaign like no other before it - Resident Evil 5 would become unlike anything else in the series to date.

Join us as we talk through all of this and much much more on this episode of Complete Global Saturation!

This 12 episode limited podcast series is a follow up to Alex Aniel's book, 'Itchy, Tasty: A Unofficial History of Resident Evil' - which covers the first decade of the series from its origins in the early 1990s through to 2006. The book is available online at the usual retailers, in bookstores, or can be purchased directly from Alex's website - www.cvxfreak.com - which you can also have signed by Alex.

Future episodes will cover other games in the decade or so beyond all in aid of looking into topics Alex will cover for an eventual follow up charting more direct history of the rest of the series, and some special guests will join us from time to time to talk about the series.

Please feel free to subscribe, review, and share - and any questions can be put alongside wherever this is posted and we will try to return to these in a future episode.

  • In our first episode of this limited run series looking at the creation of the next section of the Resident Evil or Biohazard franchise, Alex 'cvxfreak' Aniel is joined by Rob 'Rombie' McGregor as they discuss Alex's first book, his experiences in Japan, and their experiences in the community. Finally a look forward to the plans for Alex's next book and preparations for the remaining episodes where they'll tackle the topics/games that Alex plans to cover in it.

Future episodes will cover the titles both large, such as Resident Evil 5, small, like Revelations 2, and otherwise - like Operation Raccoon City, as the topics for the next decade or so of the franchise are solidified for Alex's follow up.

For now, enjoy this first prelude of things to come and look our for additional episodes coming monthly.
