Strength development has been well researched, documented and tested. Very little is left to the imagination and generally speaking we know exactly how to go from being weak to being strong. To simplify hard work, nutrition and rest will allow your body to get stronger. Your body neither knows nor cares where the strength stimuli is coming from. It does not matter if you are pushing your body weight, dumbbells or a car. This episode is an exploration of how I've spend my life building strength with calisthenics, gymnastics based and bodyweight only exercises. I discuss how you can build true strength using calisthenics, how to adjust traditional weight lifting protocols to suit your style of training and what kind changes you can make to your training to maximize your gains.Coach Bachmann Social & WebsiteInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachbachmannFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/thecoachbachmannPinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/CoachBachmann/Website: https://coachbachmann.com

Learn the 7 practical and easy steps to make your flexibility training more efficient!
https://courses.coachbachmann.com/make-flexibility-training-12-more-effective/
Plenty of research proves over and over again that a strong mind muscle connection and focused training can increase muscle growth and strength gains by up to 12%. Whilst I am lacking precise research, I can guarantee you from personal experience that it is exactly the same with flexibility. Possibly even more so!
Often when we think about increasing our range of motion we think of a daily post workout stretch or maybe a quick session before our actual training but improving flexibility is so much more. Increase your useable range of motion will require focus, a precise plan and patience to the point that some might even call you stubborn.
Getting the most out of your flexibility training is easier than you might think. Whilst you most likely won't see instant results I challenge you to trust me on this one and invest 3 month of your life. I promise you, the results will leave you stunned!

STALDER PRESS TO HANDSTAND
Is this the hardest Calisthenics Skill there is?
Head over to my website for images and videos of the here explained concepts and for a free Press to Handstand workout.
https://courses.coachbachmann.com/how-to-stalder-press-to-handstand
The Stalder Press to handstand is one of the most ambitious and difficult bodyweight skills out there combining strength, technique and flexibility on a very unique level.
Training for the stalder press requires big amounts of patience as the road will be long and even though the stalder press is a pretty short movement performing it requires just as much patience and faith in one’s capabilities. If the skill is rushed and technique is neglected the press becomes significantly harder and close to impossible.
Yet, learning to stalder press is possible for anyone. If you believe in yourself and you are willing to put in the work possibly over years to come you will get there.

https://courses.coachbachmann.com/crow-vs-crane-pose/
The crow and Crane pose are very similar looking bodyweight skills falling into the family of arm balances. The poses may have strong roots in yoga yet are commonly used in calisthenics, handstand and all types of beginner gymnastics training.
Whilst both skills rely on similar balance paired with upper body pushing strength and full body tension they have 1 significant difference that changes everything.

Learning to Handstand is hard. As a coach it is my duty to help make handstands as easy as possible for you.
Big picture there are 3 ways of how you can make handstands easier. You can either get strong as a bear, you can perfect your technique or you can create mechanical advantages through flexibility.
Just like any door that says pull opens by pushing if you apply enough force or you can theoretically make water boil by rubbing the cub you can also press to handstand without any flexibility.
All this is possible. You can do handstands if you are completely stiff but will it be efficient? I think not!

HANDSTAND PUSH UP PLATEAU BREAKERS
Follow the link for the full blog article with images, visuals & a free workout!
https://courses.coachbachmann.com/handstand-push-up-plateau-breakers/
I love handstand push ups. I love shoulder day at the gym. No matter your form of training, some kind of handstand push up progression can fit into pretty much any workout plan.
If we do something we don’t just want to grind down and do it intensely but especially we want to do it effectively and we want to improve whilst doing it.
The problem with handstand Push Ups is that the road to a free handstand push up is long and the movement is a rather unique combination of raw strength, technique, coordination and of course balancing ability. This makes it very easy to plateau and to stop progressing.

Holding a handstand is pretty easy. With The right preparation holding a 1 arm handstand is also rather doable. The problem lies in getting into the handstand. The moment between your feet leaving the floor and you getting full control of your handstand really is what’s difficult.
There are plenty of different options on how to get upside down. Depending on your experience with handstand training, strength and flexibility some mounts might be more suitable for you. Whilst some mounts might be easier than other ones and some might look more spectacular than others, all mounts come with their own specific difficulties and limiting points.

NARROW HANDSTANDS
An Essential Progression towards the One Arm Handstand
Head over to my website for images and videos explaining the explained concepts and for a free customized Handstand workout.
https://courses.coachbachmann.com/narrow-handstands/
Narrow handstands are highly underrated and usually just looked at as a fun variation to make handstands appear slightly different. Due to a lack of proper analysis most people never realize the true power of narrow handstands when training for the one arm handstand. They are needed to understand and develop key technical principles and to build specific shoulder strength that is necessary to balance on one hand and is only very difficult to build in any other way.

The One Arm Elbow Lever is the first One Arm Handstand that you will learn and a great party trick.
Well, kind off. A one arm lever or how we call it in my performing industry the crocodile is pretty far from a regular one arm handstand. Whilst some technical details such as weight distribution on the hand and the fact that you need full body tension are similar the overall experience and especially difficulty level is drastically different.
Check out the link for an article with images and videos to visualize the explained concepts and a free workout to get you started on your journey towards handstands, the press to handstand, one arm handstands and more!

There are plenty of spots where one can mess up when doing handstands. This can actually be quite fascinating. When everything is going well things are great but when there are small mistakes things can go south real fast and nothing works. It is essential to look at the handstand as a whole. Your entire body is a chain and only by manipulating the chain as 1 you will be able to truly succeed in your handstand practice.
Whilst most problems originate in the shoulders one big possible issue that can occur in your handstands is in your hips. More specifically the position of the hips and legs in the straddle handstand.
It is not easy. You want to open your legs wide enough to take advantage of them for balancing purposes. At the same time you need to keep them closed enough so your hips don’t pike.
It can be quite confusing where to put the legs and this exact question is one of the main ones I receive whenever I teach in person or online.

A Deep Side Bend is an advanced handstand drill. It is essential on the way to the one arm handstand, it will open doors towards more advanced handstand drills and add a huge amount of freedom of movement to your handstand practice.
Deep Side bends require only some strength, lots of very specific coordination and mobility in your back, sides and even hips.
