  • Episode 100 is here.

For this milestone episode of Co-op Chronicles, Blacklabel and Geisha dive into one of gaming’s most iconic franchises: God of War.

From the brutal Greek era to the emotional Norse saga, God of War has evolved from a series built on rage, revenge, and chaos into one about grief, fatherhood, legacy, and whether someone like Kratos can actually become better.

We talk about why Kratos became one of gaming’s most recognizable characters, how the 2018 reboot changed everything, why Ragnarok pushed his story even further, and why Geisha connects with the series as a fan.

Then we get into the current conversation around God of War: Laufey, the newly revealed PS5 entry focused on Faye/Laufey, Kratos’ wife and Atreus’ mother. PlayStation’s official reveal describes Faye waking in the Everywhen, the afterlife of the gods, and fighting to protect the plans she left behind for Kratos and Atreus. Deborah Ann Woll is also returning as Faye, with no release date confirmed yet.

And of course, we talk about the backlash.

Is a Faye-focused God of War a bold new chapter?
    Is it a risk?
Or is the internet doing what it always does and turning change into ragebait before the game even releases?

This episode is about God of War’s legacy, its evolution, and why fans fear change in the franchises they love most.

  • Episode 99 is a little different.

With Episode 100 right around the corner, Blacklabel and Azzilee sit down for a relaxed freestyle episode about life lately, good food, local adventures, gaming, the podcast journey, and what they hope comes next for Co-op Chronicles.

From talking about Sisters’ Cider House on Bainbridge Island and Spring Lake Cafe in Fircrest to Rainiers games, drinks at the R Bar, gaming memories, and the future of the podcast, this episode is less structured and more like hanging out with us in real time.

It’s casual, funny, honest, and full of those random side quest conversations that make Co-op Chronicles what it is.

Before we hit Episode 100, we wanted to take a moment to just talk, laugh, reflect, and enjoy the ride.

Because Episode 100 isn’t the finish line.

    It’s the next checkpoint.

  • Every Soulsborne fan has an answer.

Some say Dark Souls has the best world.
Some say Bloodborne has the best atmosphere.
Some say Elden Ring is the best overall package.
And somewhere out there, a Dark Souls II defender is already preparing a full argument.

In Episode 98 of Co-op Chronicles, Blacklabel, Geisha, and Azzilee dive into one of gaming’s most passionate debates: which Soulsborne game is actually the best?

We go from Demon’s Souls to Dark Souls, Dark Souls II, Dark Souls III, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring, breaking down what each game does best and why fans still argue about them years later.

This episode covers the blueprint that started it all, the world design that changed gaming, the most divisive entry in the series, the polished finale, the gothic nightmare fans still beg to see remastered, and the open-world giant that brought Soulsborne to the mainstream.

We also talk about what really matters in these games: bosses, builds, lore, world design, atmosphere, combat feel, replayability, and that unforgettable moment when the game finally clicks.

    So what deserves the crown?

Is it Bloodborne for the vibe?
    Dark Souls for the world?
Dark Souls III for the bosses?
Or Elden Ring for the full package?

    Let the debate begin.

  • Mother’s Day got us thinking about something bigger than just games.

A lot of our gaming memories are tied to the people around us. The person who bought us our first game. The person who told us to turn it off. The person who didn’t understand what we were playing, but still supported it because they knew it mattered to us.

In Episode 97 of Co-op Chronicles, Blacklabel, Geisha, and Azzilee talk about moms, gaming memories, family, and the games that felt like home.

We talk about the funny moments every gamer remembers, like being asked if you can pause an online game, moms calling every console “the Nintendo,” and being told dinner was ready at the worst possible time.

We also dig into the warmer side of gaming: the moms who supported the hobby, comfort games that remind us of home, iconic mother figures in games, family stories that hit harder as adults, and what gaming memories we’re creating now.

With Geisha being a mom, this episode feels a little more personal. It’s about looking back at the games that shaped us, while also thinking about the memories being made for the next generation.

This one is warm, funny, nostalgic, and all about why gaming is rarely just about the game.

  • Forgive me this is episode 96 not 95, I gave Geisha the wrong information.

    Anyways...

The d4vd case is one of the most shocking stories being reported right now, but it is also an active case, which means the details need to be handled carefully.

David Anthony Burke, known professionally as d4vd, has been charged in connection with the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Prosecutors allege Celeste was killed in April 2025 and that her remains were later found in a Tesla connected to Burke. Burke has pleaded not guilty, and the allegations have not been proven in court.

In Episode 96 of Co-op Chronicles, Blacklabel walks Geisha and Azzilee through the case from the beginning, focusing on what is being reported, what prosecutors are alleging, what has been confirmed so far, and what still has to be proven.

We talk about who d4vd was before this case, who Celeste Rivas Hernandez was, the timeline prosecutors have laid out, the discovery that brought national attention, the charges, the evidence prosecutors say they have, and why this story has become such a massive topic online.

This episode is not about internet rumors or treating an active case like entertainment.

It is about slowing down, separating confirmed reporting from allegations, and remembering that at the center of this case is a 14-year-old girl whose life ended far too soon.

  • Card collecting is everywhere again… but it doesn’t feel the same as it used to.

What started as trading cards on the playground has turned into something much bigger. From Pokémon cards to Magic: The Gathering, people are opening packs, chasing rare pulls, grading cards, and even treating them like investments.

In Episode 95 of Co-op Chronicles, Blacklabel, Geisha, and Azzilee talk about why card collecting is blowing up again, what’s driving the hype, and whether this is still just a hobby… or something closer to a new kind of currency.

We break down the excitement of opening packs, the influence of social media, the role of money in collecting, and why so many people are getting pulled into this without even planning to.

Is this about nostalgia… or something deeper?

And is this trend here to stay?

  • It always starts the same way.

“I’ll just play for an hour.”

And then suddenly… it’s way later than it should be.

In Episode 94 of Co-op Chronicles, Blacklabel, Geisha, and Azzilee talk about the games that didn’t just hook us… they took over our lives.

The ones where you lose track of time, think about them when you’re not playing, and keep saying “one more thing” until your whole night is gone.

From cozy games that slowly pull you in to grind-heavy games that keep you chasing progress, we break down why certain games are impossible to put down.

What makes a game take over your time?

And why do we actually love that feeling?

  • Pokekopia is blowing up right now… but this doesn’t feel like the Pokémon we grew up with.

    No gyms.
    No heavy focus on battling.
    No pressure to grind.

    Instead, it’s cozy.
    It’s relaxed.
It’s about building, exploring, and just existing in the world.

In Episode 93 of Co-op Chronicles, Blacklabel, Geisha, and Azzilee break down why Pokekopia is hitting so hard right now and what it says about the direction of gaming.

Are players moving away from competition and toward more relaxed experiences?

    Are cozy games taking over?

And does this even still feel like Pokémon… or is this something completely new?

This episode dives into the shift happening in gaming right now and why this moment feels bigger than just one game.

  • Bryce Laspisa should have made it home.

He was in contact with his parents.
He told them he was on his way.
    Everything seemed under control.

But during that drive, something changed.

    He stopped for hours.
    He sat alone overnight.
He turned around for no clear reason.
He kept saying he was fine.

Then his car was found crashed near Castaic Lake.

    Bryce survived the crash.

He got out of the car.

    And then he disappeared.

In Episode 93 of Co-op Chronicles, Blacklabel, Geisha, and Azzilee break down one of the most frustrating and unsettling missing person cases.

This is not a story with no clues.

This is a story where the clues are there… but they do not fully add up.

We talk through Bryce’s behavior, the timeline leading up to the crash, the search efforts, and the theories that still leave more questions than answers.

    What was he thinking?

What was happening during that drive?

And how does someone get so close to home… and still vanish?

  • Buying games used to feel simple. You saw the price, you bought the game, and that was it.

Now every release seems to have multiple editions, early access, subscriptions, bundles, and store differences that make the whole process feel more complicated than it should be.

In Episode 91 of Co-op Chronicles, Blacklabel, Geisha, and Azzilee talk about the growing frustration around game pricing, deluxe editions, subscriptions, and the recent conversations about dynamic pricing on PlayStation.

Are games actually getting too expensive, or does it just feel that way because the system around buying them has changed?

We talk about how modern game stores work, why players react so strongly to pricing changes, and why the feeling of fairness matters just as much as the price itself.

This is not a rant about gaming. It is a real conversation about why buying games does not feel the way it used to.

We break down how gaming shifted from curiosity and experimentation to efficiency and performance. Are we watching more than we are playing? Did streaming change how we approach new games? Are battle passes and progression systems turning fun into obligation?

This is not a rant. It is an honest conversation about how gaming feels now compared to how it felt growing up.

  • At some point, true crime stopped being something we watched…

And became something we tried to solve.

In Episode 88 of Co-op Chronicles, Blacklabel, Geisha, and Azzilee explore the rise of online sleuth culture, from Reddit detectives and TikTok investigators to real cases where the internet helped track criminals… and others where it caused real harm.

We break down how digital communities identified Luka Magnotta, the devastating misidentification of Sunil Tripathi after the Boston Marathon bombing, and the viral frenzy surrounding Gabby Petito and Bryan Kohberger.

But this episode isn’t just about cases.

    It’s about psychology.

Why are we so drawn to solving crimes online?
When does awareness turn into interference?
And as AI and social media grow more powerful… where should the line be?

This is a thoughtful, balanced conversation about digital justice, responsibility, and the uncomfortable space between curiosity and harm.

If you’ve ever followed a viral case in real time... this episode is for you.

    • Gamer red flags (yes, we called each other out)
    • Why we still queue again after saying “last match”

  • For years, video game adaptations had a reputation, and not a good one.

In Episode 86 of Co-op Chronicles, Blacklabel, Geisha, and Azzilee take a deeper look at why video game movies and shows struggled for so long… and why some adaptations are finally starting to work.

Using Iron Lung as a timely case study, we explore how expectations, tone, restraint, and audience trust shape whether an adaptation succeeds or falls apart. We also break down what worked in modern successes like The Last of Us, Arcane, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and Prince of Persia and why other adaptations stumbled by over-explaining, chasing accuracy, or failing to understand what made the original game matter.

This isn’t a ranking episode... it’s a conversation about why translating feeling matters more than copying plot, and why some games may never be meant for the screen at all.

If you’ve ever wondered why some adaptations “feel right” while others feel hollow, this episode explains why.

It’s about the dread that comes from nothing happening and why that can feel worse than anything chasing you.

If you’ve ever felt unsettled in a game that “wasn’t supposed to be scary,” this episode explains exactly why.

  • In this episode of Co-op Chronicles, we dive into the Kurim Case, one of the most disturbing cases of prolonged child abuse and deception in modern European history.

What began as a private family life in the Czech Republic slowly revealed a hidden system of control, manipulation, and cruelty that went unnoticed for years. At the center were children who were isolated from the world, a mother who enforced rigid authority, and a woman pretending to be a child, a lie so convincing it fooled schools, doctors, and social services across multiple countries.

This isn’t a story about a single crime.
It’s about how abuse can exist quietly inside ordinary structures, and how systems meant to protect the vulnerable can fail when no one looks closely enough.

⚠️ Content Warning: This episode discusses child abuse and psychological harm. Listener discretion is advised.

  • Game stories fade.
    Graphics age.
But the music? That stays forever.

In this episode of Co-op Chronicles, Blacklabel is joined by Geisha and Azzilee to talk about the music that defined our favorite games and why soundtracks often leave a deeper impact than story or gameplay ever could. Although, we rant majority of this episode off topic, so bare with us please!!!

From the emotional weight of Final Fantasy, Zelda, and Chrono Trigger, to the pulse-pounding energy of DOOM and Cuphead, to modern standouts like Hades, Persona, Hollow Knight, Skyrim, and Expedition 33, we break down how game music shapes memories, identity, comfort, and adrenaline.

    This isn’t a ranking.
    It’s a reflection.

Because years later, it’s the music that brings us back.

  • On February 2, 2008, 24-year-old real estate agent Lindsay Buziak went to show a house in a quiet Canadian neighborhood. She never made it out alive.

What should have been a routine afternoon showing turned into one of the most chilling and carefully planned murders in modern true crime — involving fake buyers, prepaid phones, daylight witnesses, and a crime scene that left almost no answers behind.

In this episode of Co-op Chronicles, Blacklabel is joined by Geisha and Azzilee to walk through the Lindsay Buziak case step by step — from the phone calls that set the trap, to the couple seen near the house, to the unanswered questions that still haunt investigators and the public more than a decade later.

This isn’t a story about panic or chaos.
It’s a story about planning, silence, and how someone can disappear without consequence.

  • Lately, gaming feels… different.

In Episode 81 of Co-op Chronicles, Blacklabel and Geisha sit down for an honest, no-rant conversation about burnout — not just from competitive or live-service games, but from modern gaming as a whole.

We talk about why starting a game can feel harder than playing it, why even cozy games don’t always hit the way they used to, how decision fatigue and constant engagement systems quietly drain excitement, and why so many players keep going back to older games for comfort.

This episode isn’t about saying games are bad now — it’s about understanding why so many of us feel tired, overwhelmed, and disconnected from something we still love.

If you’ve ever opened your library and thought, “Nothing sounds right,” this one’s for you.
