Tonights guest is a true story of being in the right place at the right time. When I heard his story, I smiled and the lyrics of Drake popped into my head. We started from the bottom, now we’re here.
Kent and I got a chance to meet Tim through a mutual friend named Eric, who is affectionately known as Sanderson2Orr online and in our hobby circles. I am hoping that after you hear Tim’s story, that at least one of you feels empowered to chase your dreams. It’s never too late to get what’s yours.
Let’s meet out guest, Tim.

Tonight's guests fit in quite nicely with the theme of our show. Kent and I strive to tell the story about diversity and inclusivity through the eyes of a collector. At the root of our collection is a passion for the game.
In my case, I am an avid hockey fan. I've transitioned from playing to coaching Tyke, Novice and Atom level hockey players for our local league that is part of the GTHL. Kent had also done the same. Kent and I have were often the only minority playing on our teams. I grew up wondering if there was anyone like me until I had heard that Robin Bawa got his cup of coffee in the NHL. Our next guests have started quite an interesting journey in that they have created an ice hockey program directed at developing hockey talent in the South Asian community. You may wonder, but these guest have nothing to do with hockey cards and collecting. The opposite is true, they are helping to grow the footprint of south asian kids in hockey. You may never know, you might end up collecting their cards if they make the bigs or even better, other south asian kids may start collecting cards of their favorite south asian player!

Tonight's guest is our first guest who collects F1 cards amongst other things. She was a single mom who worked at a dental office at a young age while raising her son. Through the kindness of strangers, went to school and is now pursuing her MBA. The thing that struck me was that she cherished the memory of her and her son doing homework together. This has all the markings of a feel good story.

We are honored and in awe of this guest who is a super collector of Starting Lineup action figures. It is one of if not the biggest collections of action figures that you'll lay your eyes on folks. It is an impressive sight. Not only that, he also has his own ice cream shop to boot, now who here doesn't like ice cream. I scream we all scream for ice cream, please welcome to the show Joe Acurcio!

Tonight's guest is a Doctor. Yes our 2nd Doctor to be on our show. She's a doctor in Sports Medicine, more specifically in Orthopedics. However as amazing as these accomplishments are, what's really neat and impressive is her love for basketball and collecting cards and of one individual in particular Giannis Antetokounmpo and her PSA Registry of the Greek Freak.
-
Our next guest has an impressive background. He has had stops at Microsoft for a period of 7 years followed by stops at various gaming themed locations before made the leap to Loupe.
-
Our next guest has quite an ancestral line. Her great grandfather was the first publicist of the NY Yankees and the first real agent [ need confirmation for this] for Mantle and Yogi Berra. She has played sports all of her life and she has a doctorate in sports management from "THE" Ohio State. Currently she coaches men's Rugby and is a professor educating folks in the art of sports marketing. As you can see sports plays a high social currency with her family. She began her journey into collecting women's cards by spotting a Manon Rheaume hockey card early in her collecting career. Admittedly this brings a smile to my face because it has to do with hockey. For those of you who don't know, Manon was the first woman to play in any major North American pro sports league. She signed on with the Tampa Bay Lightning system in 1992, almost 30 years ago.

We are constantly looking for new angles. Our show would not be tagged "thinking outside the box" if we did not try to do. We have always wanted to expand our content and I think today is a right step in the right direction. This afternoon, we break from our usual Tuesday tradition to speak to a hobby shop owner from the Czech Republic. His name is Pavel Bartko and he will spend some time with us, talking about his shop https://www.hokej-karty.cz/.
Pavel is a collector of Dominik Hasek with over 3100 cards in his collection. Has a complete collection of Panini Classics which is an insanely awesome accomplishment.

Tonights guest is a man who's artistic creativity was on full display in the Topps 2020 project. For those that don't know, Project 2020 was a new art-focused cardboard line that put an artistic spin on 20 classic Topps baseball cards. His brand of art is truly unique to his style and definitely one of a kind. We'd be amiss to not include that his works are not just on trading card size pieces, they run the whole gambit of small to large and utilizing many different mediums.
