Have you heard the LDS couplet, "As man is, God once was. As God is, man may become"? Aaron Marshall joins this episode while we discuss if this couplet is accepted and taught as doctrine by the LDS Church. We look into what LDS authorities have had to say and what the implications of such an idea lead to. After discussing whether or not this teaching is doctrine, Aaron and Cole talk about how the Bible does not allow for God to be have once been a man.

This special episode of Came Unto Christ takes a detour from normally discussing Christianity and Mormonism to take much needed time to talk about what is going on in Israel today. David HaLevy of Builders of Israel joins us to bring clarity and a first-person perspective of being in Israel and a little bit of the history between those who live in the land of Israel. This episode is centered around responding to Christians who have been making anti-Semitic comments online and bringing a historical and biblical response to those comments. We ask that all who listen to this episode for the peace of Jerusalem.

Did you know that the LDS Church teaches if one becomes a member of their church that they also become a part of the "house of Israel"? What does it mean to be of the "house of Israel?" In this episode we will be discussing the foundational story that started the rise of the LDS Church- The First Vision. Joseph Smith claimed to have been visited by God the Father and Jesus Christ in bodily form as a teenager. Jesus told Joseph to not join any churches, for they were all wrong and Joseph later went onto restore "the one true church" and founded the LDS Church. The only question is: Did this actually happen? We take a look into multiple First Vision accounts to see exactly what Smith was saying at the time.Stay tuned for the end to hear why we believe Jesus' resurrection is a significantly more reliable story to believe than Smith's vision.Outro Music:The View by Pyrosion https://soundcloud.com/pyrosion Creative Commons — Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported — CC BY-SA 3.0 Free Download / Stream: http://bit.ly/2PP0lrs Music promoted by Audio Library

Came Unto Christ responds to David Alexander's next video in his series "24 Reasons an Evangelical is seriously considering becoming a Latter-day Saint". David Alexander claims that Apologia Pastor, Jeff Durbin is, at best, mistaken about the historicity of the Trinity in Christian church history; or at worst, outright lying about it. Cole is joined by Aaron The Present-day Saint again to respond to Alexander's claims.Support our ministry by following our social media: https://linktr.ee/cameuntochristSupport Aaron and his podcasts:The Present-day Saint: https://www.buzzsprout.com/706023

The Latter-day Saint religion lives or dies on the story of the Book of Mormon. Was it true or just a fantastical story to rile up a new religion in the wake of the 1800's? Bill McKeever, Director of Mormonism Research Ministry, joins Came Unto Christ for this episode to talk about the story of the gold plates from the hill Cumorah! Was this truly a divinely appointed event or was Joseph Smith just playing tricks? Find out in this episode!
About the guest:
Bill McKeever founded Mormonism Research Ministry in 1979 with the hope of informing the Body of Christ about the differences between Mormonism and Christianity.
He is also an author. His writings include In Their own Words: A Collection of Mormon Quotations (Morris Publishing, 2010), Answering Mormons’ Questions: Ready Responses for Inquiring Latter-day Saints (co-authored with Eric Johnson, Kregel, 2013), and Mormonism 101: Examining the Religion of the Latter-day Saints (Baker, 2015).

Welcome to Came Unto Christ Season 2! In this episode, Cole is joined by David HaLevy to discuss the temple found in the Bible as well as the Latter-day Saint temples. Are the two comparable? Are they the same? Find out in this episode! The first half of the episode is dedicated to uncovering the temple seen in the Bible. In the second half of this episode, Cole walks through Inside Temples from LDS.org as him and David both give insight of how it relates to the biblical temple discussed in the former half.

Cole, Stan, and Will are joined by a very special guest, Eric Johnson of Mormonism Research Ministry (mrm.org). Eric has been studying Mormonism for 35 years and has made it his life's mission to see more Latter-day Saints come to a saving knowlege of the gospel through Christ alone. We were delighted to discuss his new book, Introducing Christianity To Mormons, to be released on September 13, 2022. This book is an incredibly helpful resource that explains the essential doctrines of the Christian faith in a way that a Mormon can understand without being confused by our differing definitions of terms.

What is the Latter-day Saint doctrine of eternal progression? What are its implications for the Mormon view of God and man? Is it true that "man is a god in embryo" as Latter-day Saint prophet Spencer W. Kimball has stated? What does the bible have to say about these things? Will and Stan discuss this foundational issue to LDS theology and share the true saving gospel of Jesus Christ. If you have ever met a Latter-day Saint, you will quickly discover that they profess to be Christians. More so than in history, many Mormons are seeking to fellowship and unify with Christians as brothers and sisters. Many professing Christians would like to accommodate this push for unity between the faiths, in favor of relational bridgebuilding instead of traditional evangelistic methods. But is this Biblical? Stan, Cole, and Will discuss! In this episode, Cole and Will take a step away from talking about Mormonism (for the most part) and discuss a very important topic regarding why we believe Jesus Christ rose bodily from the grave. Did you know you can give a reasonable defense for why we believe in the resurrection? If not then this episode will be very beneficial to you and will encourage you in your faith in our savior, Jesus Christ. intro/outro music: The View by Pyrosion | https://soundcloud.com/pyrosion Music promoted by https://www.free-stock-music.com Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/deed.en_US
