I interviewed my husband (of 12 years) using questions sent in by my twitter pals! There were some silly questions that you won't see in the list below because I don't wanna ruin them. Otherwise, if you wanna skip around, go for it by checking the timestamps below. If you wanna find my husband online, you can't. Gabe Broussard goes by VividVoid on twitter, and he's someone I have felt a resonance with for a while. This was our very first conversation, and you get to be a fly on the wall for it. We talked a bunch about what it's like to have an audience who puts you on a pedestal and expects you to be superhuman, while, in reality... you're just a guy. Someone who has done a lot of personal growth and healing work, and also has plenty more to do... and part of that is sharing the process in public. Sometimes embarrassing, but worth it if it helps someone. We had a wonderful chat, and anyone who has been following me for any length of time will see the crossover between our stories and have their brains tickled by all the talk about fame and ego.
Go creep on his twitter if you need to before committing to listening to this, you'll get what he's about pretty quickly. Enjoy! -

Simon Ohler is philosopher and coach, recently having an experience that many listeners of this podcast would call their worst nightmare: going viral and having lots of people say they disagree with you (and many worse things that that). We get into that about halfway through, but also delve into a lot of talk around upbringing, family dynamics, disagreeableness, radical honesty, the courage the be disliked, and more.

Julie Soto writes amazing erotica, but that's just the tip (hehehe) of the creative iceberg. This woman is a FORCE of a writer, and it seems that whatever she does, she wins awards for it, and yes, there are awards for fanfiction. I became obsessed with her writing instantly upon starting a story, and insisted on becoming her real life friend. I'm so glad I did, because she is incredibly hilarious, kind, talented, and humble... SUCH a joy to be around, and thrilling to work with creatively! You can find her on fanfic websites as Lovesbitca8, and watch for her forthcoming musical "Generation Me" once we are able to be back in theaters!

I have been asked by a number of people "do you think this is my bullshit" and while I would love to offer everyone some sort of patented system to be able to tell, I don't believe that that system can even exist. Instead, I talked about it for about 30 minutes, and came to some great clarity by the end.

Corinne Fisher and I met in 2006 when we were little baby interns at Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and she has gone on to have one of the biggest podcasts in existence, for good reason. She is brilliant and hilarious. Corinne is also a working stand-up comedian and a hell of a good time to talk to. We got into a lot of topics on this podcast, including commitment to your own success as an artist, how to manage time, and getting in touch with what you ACTUALLY want.

This was a question asked by Jessica in the BUWYBS facebook group, and it was "liked" by so many members so quickly, that I knew I had to make an episode on it. Come join us in that group or leave a comment on the YouTube video for this episode if you'd like to submit a future question! facebook.com/groups/buwybs - youtube.com/michelleakin

Suleika Jaouad is an Emmy award winning NYT columnist, TED Speaker, and writer, with her debut book, "Between Two Kingdoms" coming out on February 9th 2021. She is also a former 1:1 coaching client of mine, and it was beyond wonderful to reconnect and throw around ideas about writing and creativity. There are so many gems in this episode, it is not to be missed.
