Fightwear in hot magenta pink? Sign me right up! Megan started Jiu Jitsu almost two years ago, and became frustrated with the clothing options for women. So she created her own, and Lady Savage Fightwear was born out of the concept that we can all be ladies in the street, and a savage in the gym. Hear Megan's story of how she got started training jiu jitsu and immediately hooked, and what led her to create her own fightwear brand.

Hey babes! This week we're talking nutrition and fueling ourselves to train and compete with Mike, a nutritionist, blue belt, and owner of Unorthodox Nutrition. Listen in as Mike answers my questions about how to drop a weight class safely, the dangers of cutting weight without professional assistance, and nutrition advice to maintain a healthy weight while competing. My biggest takeway? If you could have the perfect body of your dreams, but the scale would say 500 pounds no matter what, would you take it? I would -- so don't worry about what the scale says.

Welcome to episode 6 babes! This week, Shelby Norment tells her story of her journey in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu -- how she got started, what it felt like at each belt (something I'm always curious about), and mat safety. The last part is important to Shelby -- she sustained a neck injury as a blue belt that has currently made her unable to train after major neurosurgery. We talk about things she's learned, and ways we can stay safe, and keep others safe on the mat.

This week we are changing it up a bit to interview Jeannie, a former Penn State All-American boxer, muay thai fighter, and BJJ newbie. Jeannie takes us through her 10-year journey in fight sports, starting when she started boxing at Penn State as a way to deal with the trauma of the actions of an abusive ex-boyfriend, to today, where she has branched out into Muay Thai, and a little bit of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, at Six Blades in Denver. Join us as we discuss how it feels to try a new martial art with a boxing background, the different challenges of each art, and the commonalities of what it is like to be a woman in fight sports.
