Our Listener asks “Can your personality be a sin? I’m an
introvert who cherishes solitude, and don’t
want to be around people much. Is that
pride? I would see a homeless man on my
walks, and try to pass on the other side of
the street instead of meeting him on the
same side to share the gospel or ask him if
he’s hungry. I feel like the priest or the Levite who passed
on the other side of the road to avoid being
involved with the man in the story of the
parable of the Good Samaritan. I am supposed to be the hands and feet of
Jesus everywhere I go, but it seems that my
personality is not in line with the Christian
love I am supposed to be showing people.
Then I live with this guilt all the time. P.S. - I am an avid listener of your BibleLine
Ministry. I love the True Gospel and Free
Grace Theology that you present. That is the

Our Listener asks, “My question for today is that I am a
follower/believer of Jesus. I have been for
the past 14 years, however the past few
months I have been dealing with bad
thoughts, intrusive thoughts, and I have
been feeling down casted a lot lately. And I
can’t help but to feel the Lord isn’t with me
or that I committed some blasphemy
because of the nature of the thoughts, “and now I’m cut off. I know it sounds crazy,
and it sounds off to me as well, but I can’t
help but feel this seed of dread I have been
feeling for months now. And I would love for
you to maybe bring some clarity to me in all
this because it is tormenting.”

Our Listener asks, “Hi Pastor Jesse, first off just want to say
thank you for your ministry and for always
delivering the Clear and Simple Gospel. I’m
writing this because I struggle with Resting
in the Truth. I know that Jesus Christ is my
Lord and my One and Only Savior. That I’m Saved by His Grace and Mercy
through Faith in Jesus’ Death, Burial, and
Resurrection. It’s what He has finished for
me, not what I can do for Him. I know the
truth, I understand the truth, and I believe
the truth. I just struggle to Rest in the truth. Some days I have Rest and Confidence, and
some days I don’t. I know that I’m Saved,
and that whether my day is great or terrible
it’s only by Grace and salvation. It’s
contingent on Him, not me. I struggle with OCD, mainly scrupulosity,
and it’s more so obsessive thinking, not
really too many compulsions although
there are some. It’s been a long mental
journey for the past 4 years, and God has
been Faithful all my days as He always will
be. He’s brought me over so many hurdles,
and though there is still more ahead of me,
I trust in Him. OCD is nicknamed “the
doubting disorder,” and there are times the
thoughts get so strong and so persistent
that it feels like He’s done with me. I know that He isn’t because He cannot
deny Himself, and Greater is He that is in me
than the one in the world. I was just hoping
maybe for some advice or tips that could
help bring some ease. I know God wants His
children to Know we belong to Him. Sorry
this was long; thanks for all you do.”

she works with, but we’re not exactly sure
what the right approach would be - how to
start the witnessing conversation, how to
be effective and compassionate while not
sounding like we’re being confrontational
or judgmental or anything else negative. She doesn’t want to ruin the friendship by

Our listener asks, “I’m reaching out because I have struggled with doubt a lot. I have been around a lot of John MacArthur’s teachings, Calvinism and Lordship Salvation. I know scripture teaches we are saved by faith alone. Sometimes I doubt my salvation because I have been taught to look at my sin and make sure I’m bearing fruit, cuz if not, you probably didn’t ‘really get saved’ or ‘really have saving faith.’ I really want to overcome this doubt about my salvation. If you have any advice, I would appreciate it. Also the whole ‘head faith’ versus ‘heart faith’ has confused me as well. And sometimes I worry greatly about my faith making sure I’m trusting in Christ alone and nothing else, and I get anxious about it. Our Listener asks, "Hello, I’d like to thank you for your quick
response to my previous question. However,
now I have a question regarding another
verse. It might seem a bit nitpicky, or overly
critical in a sense, and I apologize if that’s the
case, but in John 8:42 where Christ states, ‘Jesus
said unto them, If God were your Father, ye
would love me: for I proceeded forth and
came from God; neither came I of myself, but
he sent me.’ The issue I see with this verse is the use of
the word ‘love.’ Does the word ‘love’ here just
refer to believers receiving Jesus as their
Messiah, in stark contrast to the intense
hatred of the Pharisees who rejected and
wanted to kill him, or does it imply something beyond mere
belief, or some level of obedience considering
how Jesus equates loving him to keeping
his commandments later in John’s gospel.
Do all believers necessarily ‘love’ Jesus after
having believed on him?”

verse of the day. the verse is John 8:30 ‘As
he spake these words, many believed on him.’
Here is the comment: ‘While we often talk about Jesus as our Lord
and Savior, we can also find it easy to ignore
his voice, or worse, hear Jesus’ words and
ignore them. Our obedience to what Jesus says
demonstrates that we have put our faith in
him. To foolishly disobey, ignore, or neglect to
do what Jesus says is to show that we don’t
believe him to be our Lord to DO what he says
to us as our Lord! Jesus promised a very rude awakening at
judgment for those who take this attitude
(Matthew 7:21-27). So, let’s commit to reading
through each of the four Gospels (Matthew,
Mark, Luke and John) before the end of each
year. As we read about Jesus’ life and teachings,
let’s do it as a search for the heart of Jesus
and ask God to help us know him better and
follow him more thoroughly and more
obediently as the Holy Spirit conforms us to
be more like him (2 Corinthians 3:18)!’ I believe we are saved by trusting in the
promise of eternal life of Jesus Christ for the
forgiveness of sins by Jesus’ life and ministry.
