Ed Balls and George Osborne take us behind closed doors into the rooms where decisions are made. Having battled it out across the despatch box, the former Chancellor and shadow chancellor now meet in the studio to discuss the decisions that affect the nation’s pockets. Our frenemies have the knowledge and experience to explain how good politics follows the economics - and expose how the powerful become powerless when faced with market forces and political currents they can’t control. Join us every Thursday.

When the People Decide, a podcast from the McCourtney Institute for Democracy at Penn State, explores the promise — and sometimes peril — that ballot initiatives have brought to American democracy by telling the stories of people who have organized initiative campaigns across the country.
America’s founders were famously skeptical of direct democracy, citing fears of mob rule if people had too much power. Since then, however, the initiative and referendum process has emerged as one way that citizens in some states can vote directly on policy and join forces to bring issues they care about directly to their fellow voters.
When the People Decide is hosted and reported by Jenna Spinelle and produced by LWC Studios for the McCourtney Institute. -

Corruption is one of the great scourges of our age. It is estimated that trillions of dollars are paid in bribes every year and that developing regions lose ten times more to corruption than they receive in foreign aid, with illicit outflows of the funds that they desperately need totalling more than 1 trillion US dollars per year. The reason for this is not a lack of laws prohibiting corruption in its various forms but the impunity enjoyed by those guilty of contravening them, resulting from their control of the institutions which are supposed to see to it that the law is enforced.

Every week, one survivor of sexual violence, tells their story to journalist and author (and survivor) Terri White.
We discuss their personal experience and the reality of the bigger picture around assault and what comes after.
We attempt to combat the myths around assault that cause so much harm. That reveal themselves in questions beginning with three words..."Why Didn't You".
Why didn't you...scream? Fight him off? Dress differently? Leave him? Report to the police? Have proof?
These testimonies reveal the impact of these myths. How they harm women, how they seek to silence and shame. How they play out throughout society, including in the criminal justice system. Of the reality of reporting, taking action, seeking justice in 2023.
This is a podcast where women's stories will be heard. What's yours?
