We originally recorded this song in March of 2020. Now, nearly two years later, we still think it's important to wash our hands thoroughly and mindfully, so we're re-releasing this song as a tool for health and kindness inside and out. Whether you're learning it for the first time, or listening again, we hope you enjoy this song.
What if instead of singing Happy Birthday each time we wash our hands, we sing a song that wishes ourselves and our world safety, health, peace, and kindness.
We recorded a 20 second hand washing song to sing every time we wash our hands. This song was inspired by the ancient practice of loving kindness or metta meditation. Thereโs a lot of modern research that says loving kindness is a powerful tool that increases the well-being of both kids and adults.

This is a hugging meditation for kids, based on the practice created by Thich Nhat Hanh.
Science says that kids who are hugged a lot actually grow smarter, bigger, healthier, calmer, and more resilient than kids who are rarely hugged. Pediatricians recommend that all kids get at least 17 hugs a day! We better get hugging right away!
For this practice you will need a stuffed animal, a pet, a friend, or a family member.
If you're in the car and don't have any of those things available, don't worry...because you can hug yourself!
