  • One of the steps to move from drama and chaos to peace and empowerment is letting go of trying to get others to change.

Today, I dive a bit deeper into what this means and how it is possible to be okay even if others around you don’t change. A shift in perspective changes everything.

  • On today’s episode I am answering a question that I’ve heard some version of many times. It is a question around “having” to set a boundary.

First, boundaries aren’t something we HAVE to set. Boundaries are a choice. They are a way of expressing what is important to me and what I am willing or not willing to do to honor that. If we choose not to set our own boundaries, we cannot blame others for our needs not getting met. Boundaries require deep self-trust.

Tune in and discover the GIFT and POWER of deep self-trust.

  • What is Freedom? Freedom means different things to different people.

Today, I am talking about inner freedom. We are often imprisoned in our own mind. We put an enormous amount of pressure on ourselves to live up to unrealistic expectations. The pressure to always be good and always do the right thing has us entrenched in a world of perfection.

Many of us feel the pressure to prove we are good enough by how much we achieve, how much we produce, and how much we can do for others. The freedom to be oneself in a world that demands perfectionis the ultimate freedom.

  • My guest, Andrea Anderson, joins me today to discuss emotional wellness and creating more peace and harmony in the home environment. Andrea shares her story on how her children were the catalyst for her own growth.

Andrea is a Health + Emotional Wellness Coach, Speaker + Author for parents of kids whose brains are wired differently.

Over the years, Andrea helped her sons improve and move past various neuro-diversities. Consequently, she spent a lot of time in the thick of stress, drama and anxiety for many years. However, she learned over time(from coaches, books, programs, courses and her own intuition), how to shift out of the drama, anxiety and stress, and begin to feel more at peace, even with chaos occurring around her.

Eventually, she and her family began to get along better. There was a lot more harmony in their home. And, over time, her relationship deepened with her kids. She found her sons opening up more and even asking for help instead of resisting it.

She now helps parents of kids + teens whosebrains are wired differently, learn how to deepen their relationship with them, create more peace in their family and begin to help their kids to thrive!

We try to be a good parent. We often feel like a bad one. So much fear and doubt surround parenting. When we commit to the journey of loving ourselves, we enter a beautiful journey of exploration and discovery.

We are in a new frontier. It is time to break old, outdatedpatterns that no longer serve us and cultivate new patterns that do. When we shift in how we relate to ourselves, it impacts all other relationships as webecome our best selves.

  • How do we show up imperfectly in a world that demandsperfection?

We put a lot of pressure on ourselves to never mess up. This can do more harm than messing upitself. The pressure to never mess up is perfection. Underneath perfection lies shame and a sense that there is a right way. And if I don’t do it right, I’m not good enough.

In this episode I talk about the power of taking the pressure off, being open to messing up, and seeing the gifts that messing up has to offer.

  • As children we learned to be “good” and as an adult we want to be a “good” mother. But what does GOOD really mean?

Essentially, being good means to make everyone happy. And to make everyone happy comes with self-sacrifice. We expend an enormous amount of energy into avoiding conflict and upset. And that comes at a big cost.

Studies show that high stress, depression and anxiety arecorrelated with self-sacrifice.

    It’s time for an UPGRADE.

Creating connections is a process that moves us towardfeeling seen, heard and understood. It’s about feeling valued and having a sense of belonging. It’s about showing up for who we are and expressingourselves authentically. It is only then that true connections form.

The benefit of connection is THRIVING.

    –Buddha

Happiness is our natural state. However, we have beensocialized to believe we must be in pursuit of happiness and that happiness comes from outside of us.

So, we search for happiness. And in this search we often tend to get lost. On this episode my guest, Bon Normandeau, shares her story andher journey back to herself and true happiness.

Bona is the host of The Happier YouPodcast, Empowerment Coach, and Public Speaker. Her mission is to empower individuals to find their own happiness, helping them navigate their uniquejourneys with greater resilience and more joy! After realizing she was lost, lacking focus and living a life of fitting in, she decided to embark on a journey to discover what living her best life could look like. Instead of justtaking the journey herself, she decided to start her podcast and share her experiences with others in case anyone else out there needed to know theyweren’t alone. She found out she most definitely wasn’t alone. She’s been inspiring action ever since.

  • Today, I am sharing my thoughts on Mothering. Mother’s Day can mean many things to many people. In a culture that judges mothers based on their child’s behavior, mothering can be extremely stressful. Who did I have tobe for my mother to be seen as a good mother? Who do my children have to be for me to be seen as a good mother? When we are not willing to look atour truth it will eventually come out sideways. If we don’t heal our own wounds (the things that trigger us) we WILL hand these wounds to the next generation.

  • “Boredom is a defense to emotional awareness.”

    -Gary Zukav

On today’s episode we are talking about boredom.

Boredom is a form of resistance. It is resistance tobecoming aware of what you are feeling. This is the ROOT of boredom.

Boredom is not right or wrong nor good or bad. Boredom is natural.

We can fall into drama roles around boredom. Boredom can be empowering, building skills such asinitiative, self-reliance, and problem-solving skills as well as creativity, curiosity, and flexibility. It also builds tolerance for discomfort.

Allowing your children to own their own boredom and find their own solutions is essential in helping them build important life skills.

In this episode you will learn how to use boredom as an opportunity and ways to respond to your child when they proclaim, “I’m bored.”
