When I got married, I made the choice I thought you had to make: take birth control... and it took me years to dig myself out of the hole that it put me in!
Welcome to the first episode of my THIRD season of Be Whole. Be Well. Be Wise.
Today we’re talking about the truth about birth control and how it impacts the female body from a faith-based perspective. I hope this is an informative topic that will inform and educate you on some of the complications of taking birth control, otherwise known as hormonal contraceptives. I do not seek to offend or become controversial. I hope other women can see a timeline overlap from when their symptoms began and overlay it with taking hormonal contraceptives and I hope you can find ways to replenish your body, and make decisions based on this information that can improve your overall health and well-being.
We are going to dive into:
-the mechanisms of birth control
-how it impacts your brain, gut, and minerals
-how you know you are ready to conceive after taking hormonal contraceptive
-how you can replenish your body if you have taken hormonal contraceptives

Do you feel like you are searching for something that's missing? Do you feel you are grappling for answers? Do you notice that your stress and anxiety overwhelm your heart and joy seems like a distant idea?
Join Faith Harralson and I as we dive into the ONE THING women need for wholeness in body, mind, and spirit.
Being WITH Jesus.
Let's talk about:
How to keep our eyes on Him and off of what is going on.
How to discern the voice of our Father.
How to operate in gratitude.
AND, how to bring the Holy Spirit's presence into our daily lives and into our homes.
Friends, as we renew our mind, body, and spirit, let's get rid of distractions and focus on Him in our daily walks and usher His presence into our homes.
Psalms 69:29-32 AmplifiedBut I am sorrowful and in pain. May your salvation, O God, set me securely on high. I will praise the name of God with song and magnify Him with thanksgiving. And we will please the Lord better than an ox or a young bull with horns and hooves. The humble have seen it and are glad. You who seek God (requiring Him as your greatest NEED) let your heart REVIVE and LIVE.
He came because He loves You! I hope you have a fantastic Christmas and wait expectantly on our Coming King to transform your life this season!

What you believe about purity in your adolescent years can have a lasting impact on your mind and body for years to come. So much of the shame, guilt, physical and emotional pain that we experience in marriage is carried forward from what we believed about ourselves, God, and the opposite sex during these crucial years of development. Let's work together to restore the blessings and joy that Jesus intended when He encouraged us to live a pure life, so that the next generation can truly understand the freedom and abounding joy that comes from real purity.

Loss of joy is not always a choice. Sometimes there are physiological reasons you cannot feel joy the way you used to. Since the fall, Satan has plotted to steal our joy in Christ, even through the innate processes within our own bodies.
In this podcast, we will answer questions like: How does my gut-brain axis influence my state of joy? How does my brain respond to certain foods? How can I optimize my brain and gut health to allow my brain to respond to life’s situations with more joy and less overwhelm?

Let's discuss Joy!
When you think of the word "joy," what do you think of? Do you have a specific memory that brings you joy? What activities or experiences bring you joy? Conversely, what doesn't feel like joy to you, and how do you manage those emotions when you're not experiencing joy?
In this conversation, we will explore the definition of joy, how to rediscover it, and how to cope when joy seems out of reach.

Is your sleep negatively impacting your health? The answer is probably yes.
Our culture is on the fast track to chronic disease as sleep (across all generations) is becoming an option instead of a vital need for life.
Why should we be sleeping?
How should we be sleeping?
How can we optimize our sleep?
Join me with Suzanne Leach, DPT, OCS as we answer these questions and talk about the importance of sleep, the slow impact of sleep deprivation to your health, and how you can make small changes now to make positive health gains.
Suzanne is a doctor of physical therapy and works at Rehabilitation & Performance Institute, PSC in Bowling Green, Kentucky. She has spent extensive hours researching how sleep is impacting her patient care and is passionate about the need for change.

Are unhealthy boundaries pointing to the root of your health issues?
Listen as Lauren Early, MA, LPCC and I unpack the myths (“lies”) around boundaries and the truth that God tells us about them in our lives.
Lie #1:
Jesus gave of Himself sacrificially, therefore I’m also supposed to give my resources, time, and energy without restraint.
Lie #2: I am supposed to love everyone, so I can’t confront or acknowledge a boundary issue.
Lie #3: I have to forgive, which means allowing this person “in” again.
Let’s look at how Jesus modeled boundaries and take steps together towards caring and serving for one another in a safe, emotionally connected way.
“A boundary-less life becomes a hurried life.
A hurried life becomes a stressed-out life.
A stressed-out life squeezes everything of importance out AND it begins to change and affect our nervous system and ultimately our health.
An unhealthy life leads to one that cannot pursue the God-given dreams that God has put inside of you.”
—Shelly Tyler

Welcome to Episode 1 of Season 2 of Be Whole. Be Well. Be Wise. Today, I am talking with Sarah Deloach about resiliency.
It's time to flip the perspective.
You are not broken. You are resilient.
God did not promise we would live in a world without struggle, but He did promise that we have to look to Him in order to overcome.Instead of continually getting ran over by the problems of this world and struggling to overcome by our own power, let's learn to "abide under" Him and fix our eyes on our Savior.
Learn to build resiliency by:
Accepting the unchangeable,
Adjusting to the obstacles,
Abiding with patience, &
Affirming the Presence.

What if your busy schedule is keeping you distracted, unfulfilled, and sick?
Our culture puts "busyness" up on a high pedestal. The more productive we are, the better! However, God didn't call us or create us to lead hectic, busy, stressed out lives.
What are the symptoms of "hurry sickness" and what are some practical ways that you can fight against it during one of the busiest seasons of the year?

Is your relationship with your body hijacking your identify in Christ?
Today, we are taking a deep scientific and Biblical look at body image and disordered eating and how these are connected with shame, safety, and control.
Lydia defines disordered eating as: anything that ignores our natural body cues that God gave us, causes us distress, or disconnects us from our natural relationship with our bodies.
We will take a look at the extremes of these scenarios and also the sneaky ways lies will creep into our perceptions of how food affects our day to day lives, and ultimately our identity in Christ.
An advanced warning that this episode will contain subjects related to eating disorders, body image, trauma, and self-harm. Please proceed listening with self awareness and feel free to skip around within the episode according to your personal needs.

Come nerd out with Sarah and I today as we talk through the basics of trauma, neuroscience, and grounding techniques to get your brain back to baseline during a triggering event. Learn about your survival, emotional, and logical sides of your brain and their responses to trauma, AND what you can do about it!
If you don't think you have experienced trauma, listen for a friend. If you have, know that you are not alone, and you are not broken. Your brain has just been responding the best way that it knows how. Until now!
