  • Gearing up towards his debut EP, emerging electronic pop & future bass producer Kerala returns with the fifth installment to his body of work by releasing, “Different Light” featuring Taylor Tuke.

Heartfelt vocals and intricate instrumentals tug at the heartstrings, fusing together for a creative and emotional experience. Kerala’s newest is a welcome addition to the “chill stadium” genre, music in which every climax seems to set the stage for the next climax to come.

Kerala told us “‘Different Light’ reflects upon a completed journey, looking back on past memories and seeing things in a new way. It’s the existential realization that meaning comes from within, rather than your location or possessions. In the arc of Escapism, “Different Light” is the point in which the protagonist returns back from his travels to see his hometown, in a completely new light. He realizes that there was nothing wrong with his old life, except for his perspective, which in the end, is everything. He is ‘looking back on a different life’ and can ‘see it in a different light.”

  • Mellow and calm are not usually words used to describe a good trap song. However, for CandyMan, the newest track for Baauer to release, those are two words that I would say would describe how the song goes. I love it for that. The song isn’t shaking my headphones or blowing out my speakers but still has Baauer’s style of trap.

The bass beat gives the track a tempo that is mellow and lets the listener vibe out. The vocals are a simple loop of “yeah you wanna be like me” chopped, skewed and twisted to meet the instrumentals of the build and the chorus.

An added bonus to how relaxing this track is is that Baauer teamed up with LuckyMe Entertainment to provide fans with a free download. Share it with your friends!

  • This is the episode that you all have been waiting for. This is our end of the year special that isn’t so special. Essentially, our schedules are so convoluted with the holidays, myself getting sick and about to leave the country, and Nick doing Nick things. Plus Janet is still MIA and killing it. With that said, this episode is a combination of what we wanted to do around Thanksgiving mixed with the end of the year stuff. Everything Nick and I wanted to say is in this. We tried to thank everyone and recall everything that has happened this past year. If you weren’t included, I severely apologize. I was sick and was hardly thinking straight with all the medicine I was on. There isn’t much to this episode besides some talking about New Years, looking back at this year, and thanking everyone. We also included some great memories that we’ve had. 2015 was a phenomenal year. No regrets. 2016, the only way we’re looking is up. Check out this week’s podcast now!

  • We’re back with another episode this week. Now, I want to apologize for the negative demeanor on this podcast, but we feel that it is very informative. I am a strong believer of nothing is what it seems, but usually the total opposite and that is case with Electronic Dance Music as well. Although, we do shine light to the dark underbelly, but come out victorious as we discuss lasting the test of time. This podcast isn’t meant to generalize and say it is all negative, but using anecdotal experience. Either way, use this as a way to motivate and participate. Check out this week’s podcast now!

  • This week, Nick and I decided we needed to get a regular schedule again especially since Janet is back in the states. Unfortunately, it is her birthweek and she is spending it properly by partying. We wish her a happy birthday, but we gotta move on. We brought in our friend Natalie who is 1/2 of Louisiana EDM Family. Things may have seem like they got super aggressive, but you shouldn’t expect any less because that’s how we talk to each other in private. We brought our private lives to the podcast this week. Essentially no chill. Also, there was zero focus and technical problems all over the place. I’d like to think this is a raw and fun podcast where we had no rules and tried to stay on some topics. Spots were blown up. I feel like you’ll love this week’s podcast though. Check out this week’s podcast now!

  • Tomorrow, I leave for Dancefestopia. I am so excited and nervous like I’m about to go on a roller coaster. Although, Nick, Nate, and Ashyln helped calm me down…sorta. On this week’s podcast, we dedicated the whole thing (sorta) to Dancefestopia. We (as EDM Assassin) are joining with The EDM Family to attend this amazing festival. This will be the largest family meetup and it’s very exciting because I call them my friends. In this week’s podcast we attempt to discuss everything revolving around the festival from the artists we want to see, things we want to do, our plans on how to hang out, and my stupid questions / anecdotes. •

This podcast has been long overdue. Summer has been incredibly busy between work and play. Janet is off in Europe working hard while Nick and I had the itch to come back together for the podcast. You’ll notice that the format to this one is a bit more light because we don’t have Janet to keep us in line. We miss her. I know you guys will miss her. In the mean time, Nick and I discuss so much in this episode. We talk about all of our festivals. We break them all down to our favorites. We also discuss how cool Nick, the diva is when he got some cool experiences. That said, we’re very excited to bring this back for you. Also, sorry for being later than normal I built my new computer and finally got the software yesterday evening/night. Check out this week’s podcast now!

  • What is up everyone? We’re back! After two weeks, Janet, Nick and Myself get back together after Nick’s devil cat decided to ruin our awesome podcast. We decided to catch up and talk about the festivals we attended. I talked about BeachGlow as well as Mania Circus. Nick talked about normal Nick things whereas Janet talked about how her life has changed since she went to Mysteryland. We also decided to talk about hidden projects and a few other crazy topics. Both Nick and Janet wore their sassy pants when talking to me. I am not a fan, but you may be a fan. Check out this week’s podcast now!

  • I seriously apologize for being super late. This should have been out last week. We talked about the previews for BeachGlow, Electric Forest. Nick and Ruby decided to be super cute and such while discussing their time at EDC Las Vegas. This was one of our more interesting episodes because we were without Janet. She was feeling under the weather, but unfortunately, the show must go on. So without further ado, check out last week’s episode and don’t kill me for being super late.

  • BeachGlow is going to grace the beaches of Atlantic City on June 27th. This has been a long year since last year’s event. First, they announced the comeback of the event. I got extremely excited because they are donating proceeds to Little Kids Rock. Unfortunately, they hit a few snags on the road to the event. I, for one, was not a happy cookie about this. Although, they decided to not let anything stop them and are going bigger and better this year. Their lineup? Awesome. They are bringing Project 46, Autograf, Gazzo, Speaker of the House, and more to the beach. They eventually teased the headliner. I guessed it right away. Sorry. Tommy Trash is headlining!

Anyway, like last year, we decided to interview the folks behind BeachGlow. Although, unlike last year, we decided to interview the whole Kunkel family! We have Dane Kunkel – founder and CEO, Gerard Kunkel – President, Heather Kunkel – Executive Vice President, and Brittany Kunkel – VP and Creative & Marketing. I wanted the whole family because they are all integral roles in the event. Plus, it is interesting to see the family dynamic.

In this interview, we talk all about BeachGlow. We talk about everything listed above and it is great to hear what they had to say. They’re amazing people and this is perhaps the best interview we have. Without further ado, the Kunkels!
