  • Today's Christian YA fantasy author interview with Glen Gabel was very interesting. He is a screenwriter and author who recently published his debut YA fantasy novel, The Soothsayer. Although his work is not strictly Christian, it does have elements from the Bible and Gaelic Mythology. He graduated from the University of Southern California, worked as a production assistant under Joss Whedon at Mutant Enemy/ Fox, and later worked as a professional copyeditor. Today, we are talking about the differences between being a screenwriter and a novelist and world-building when pulling inspiration from things like the Bible and Gaelic folklore.

  • My author interview with sci-fi coming of age writer Taffeta Chime was inspiring as she shared about how her sci-fi coming of age books began as short stories written from middle school and late elementary. These sci-fi books evolved into full length novels geared for the coming of age range. Her first book, she won an award due to having published it in high school, and she showed she took control of her own education. • What a privilege it was to talk in this dystopian author interview with Young Adult Dystopian author A.E. Faulkner. This writer covers the hefty topic of climate change, without being too preachy in her series The Nature Fury. She also has contributed to the climate change anthology series The Gaia Anthology. Her character was so well-liked another author has asked to continue her character's story in his own telling.

The Nature Fury will be a five part series with the first two already out. It follows teenage girl as they strive to find hope in a world where Mother Nature is fighting back. The first in the series is Darkness Falls.

  • The Extraordinary Anna Parke by Melanie Murphy is a great read in womens literature with magical realism! This is a great read with just a touch of magic. Like a womens literature, this book strongly develops the emotional tension and relationships women's literature is known for.

Melanie Murphy when she isn't writing, she has her nose in a good book, cheering her two boys at their little league gams, and her toes in the sand. She lives in a great community called Massapequa Park, in Long Island. When she isn’t teaching, she can be found teaching English, reading a good book, cheering on her boys at a little league game, or relaxing in the sand at the local beach (in the summers of course).
